Im so sorry to hear u had to go thru this. I know exactly what u went thru. I have a photo of my swollen belly after food gets stuck. I had this happen to me on my lattest fill where it was to tight. It happened while camping and was the worst thing ever. It happened on a sat morning and I couldn't eat or drink anything till monday. By monday I was able to sip tiny amounts of Water but still no food. It took me a full week to be able to get stage 1 foods down. But now im good. My stomach has shrunk so my band has loosened. Im 6 months into my band life and im down 50 pounds. So im happy about that.

Best advice is to be prepared and accepting of change. Your life will be different after the band. And once ur able to eat regular food take ur time and chew chew chew. :-)

I have a lot of short term goals to get thru before my big goal. I started at 250. My first goal I gave myself was to get to 230 which was my weight I was prior to surgery cause I had to gain weight to qualify. I am currently at 225 1 1/2 months later. My next goal is 212. Which was the lowest weight I was at last year. After I hit that goal its 199. Me and bestie are throwing a party cause I got below the 200's. My final weight I would like to stay at goes between 160-170. Im 5'7" my smallest ever was 130 and looking back that was to skinny for me.

Be Honest- Is Banded Life Hard?

Hi everyone, I am 1 1/2 months post op, this is an amazing post. I love ny band. I have lost 25 pounds so far and 3 sizes in such a short period of time. I think being mentally ready to make a life change is one of the keys to success with the band. The band is only a tool to help you, and you have to be willing to put in the discipline for it to be successful. If you do what ur doc and nut tells you u will see success. I still eat treats sometimes but in way smaller portions when I do. For me the band has been most amazing by controlling my portion size allowing to feel satisfied so I don't have the need to overindulge. I would def recommend the band. -
Hi everyone I just got my band put on two days ago. I haven't had a fill yet. Im doing great and feel great at moment, but what should I expect after I get my first fill? How does it work?

That's awesome on the down 15 pounds!! Great job! I have lost inly 6 pounds so far, suppose that's good though considering I just did my surgery a few days ago. :-) i also did the band. Im still on liquids and can add mushy foods tomm. I get my first fill sometime next week. How was it the first time u got ur fill?

I'm in Vegas, I just had my Surgery this past Friday. I feel good for the most part. The gas seems to be the only thing that is bothersome and not all the time just later times in the day. How are you doing on your procedure?

I'm on my 2nd day post op, I feel fine. I have felt great for most of my time after surgery so far with the exception of yesterday around 4 I started getting a lot of gas pains. I felt them more while I was doing my walking excercises, but seemed easier to pass once I sat or layed down after walking. I have been on clear fluids only, and doc said I can start mushy tomm. I don't feel hungry or even have the desire to eat anything I am not supposed to. Which I am very thankful for. In the last 4 days I have lost 6 pounds. I know most of that is due to being on a liquid diet for 3 of those days, but I will take the weightloss anyway it wants to come. :-)
