Pain When Im Hungry?
theby_88 replied to jessamarie24's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yeah that is what I was thinking too but my nurse put me on som acid reducers and it has seem to take the pain away so I am thinking it had to do with acid and when I ate it helped so it made the pain go away. I am suppose to be on theses meds for the first 3 months but for some reason I was never given them which surprised my nurse as well. I have only been taking them for like a week now but so far so good. -
Hang in there girl it will all work itself out. Your body is still probably wondering what you did to it. It will take time. Keep your head in the game and keep up the good work.

I Am 8 Days Out And Struggling
theby_88 replied to kauaigirl808's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's really hard but you have to push yourself. Shakes, soups, water and SF popsicles are going to be your best bet getting in all your liquids and protein. I dont think anyone gets all their protein in at the beginning. Just try to drink and stay hydrated. That is so important and walk. It will help you heal, Good luck girl. It's super hard but just keep trying. -
That's a positive way to look at it, LOL. Thanks!

Hello FamiIy, I had surgery October 17th and I have lost 28 pounds. Today is my 4 week post-op. So I know that 28 pounds in a month is really good and I am happy for that but I was wondering if it is normal to be losing slow right now. I lost 20 pounds in the first week so that means I lost the 8 pounds in 3 weeks. Is it normal to lose slow like that in the beginning or am I doing something wrong? I guess I was expecting like 3-5 pounds a week at least. Any advise. Thank you
-
You are doing great. Almost 40 pounds in a month and a half seems good doesn't it? I try and remember how long it would take to lose that amount of weight without the surgery. It's hard to lose 10 pounds in a month sometimes so just remember that and I will too, LOL.

I went through this also. It is very normal and you are not alone. You are proabably just soooo over the foods you have been eating which is where I was at. I called my bariatric nurse and asked her if I could try some other foods and she gave me some suggestions which helped. I think once you have more options and maybe get to eat something you actually enjoy you will have more self control. Try calling your surgeon or your nutritionist and ask them if you can try a few new foods. My nurse just told me the stages are just a guideline to go by but everyone is different and some peoples pouches can handle more than others and to try somthing but chew chew chew and see how your stomach reacts. Hope this helps. Def listen to your surgeon though. They are all different. Good luck girl.

Hello Family, I was wondering if anyone knows exacally or round about number on our nutrition per day. Calories Fat Carbs I am 5 weeks out and would like to know so I can watch my intake. Does it really matter at this point as long as I am getting all my Protein in? Thanks

Feeling Guilty :-(
theby_88 replied to Simplysouthern26's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Simplysouthern26, I know exacally how you feel and I suffered with this same feeling for months. I know it's hard to think about but you have to remember that if you don't do this they could lose you too. Also if you don't do this you will most likely get worse. For me it was kind of at that point that I didn't have a choice anymore. I let myself get too big and fat that I was almost impossible for me to get it off on my own. Soooo what you are feeling is normal and make sure you have everything ready and in place in case it does happen but you are going to be fine. These surgeons do these surgeries all the time so you are in good hands. Just make sure you o what the doc tells you after. That is going to be your big responsibility to make sure you are fine after the surgery as well. Good luck girl. You will be fine!!! -
Pain When Im Hungry?
theby_88 replied to jessamarie24's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Did you do anything different that might have made them go away at that time like eating more often or anything? Do you think it was just a hunger pain? -
Oh good ok thank makes me feel happy I have been going back and forth with I shouldn't of done this and hang in there a little longer. I don't like the bad days but they do happen. I hope I start losing more so I can see it and hopefully that will make it worth while. I am not good with patients either, LOL.

Pain When Im Hungry?
theby_88 replied to jessamarie24's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What test did you get done? Should I get some test done just to be sure? OMG I am so glad to hear they go away. How long did it take to go away 1 month out of surgery or longer? Do you eat regularily? I find if I do that I don't get them as much but it's hard to remember sometimes. -
Pain When Im Hungry?
theby_88 replied to jessamarie24's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Maybe, LOL... It sounds like we are having this as well as bathroom issues so maybe it is from that but why would eating make it feel better that's what doesn't makes sense to me. That is what makes me think it is because we are hungry. -
Haha, are you much happier now though

Was your pain like cramping or like really bad hunger pains? Did the pain go away when you ate?
