My experience at almost the six month mark is this...Hairloss started at exactly two months out from surgery. I started with long beautiful hair! It increasingly got worse..my scalp hurt..it wld itch..i was afraid to wash my hair...i would go for days because i knew i was gonna lose about 300 hairs each time i washed it...Rapid hairloss!!...over 200 to 300 hairs a day! lasted a good ten to twelve weeks!!..I had many meltdowns and wld cry my eyes out...then it slowed..then it picked back up!...then it slowed... I finally got up the nerve to go to the hairdresser..i cut about 4inches...i didnt color it. Once i cut it i noticed less shedding...but then it did pick up on some days..my advice dont be scared to get a trim... Im still shedding alittle each day. No where near that horrifying amount i was experiencing. Im hopeful the worst is over. Also..i took Biotin..vitamins..nioxin..iron..zinc..shen min....you name it. Im convinced none of it helped stop anything.It has to run its course, period. Im surviving what i consider the worst side effect from this surgery/process...hang in there if its happening to you...when they say six months..its pretty much on the money. I also bought Hair makeup ..it works great since the front of my scalp thinned considerably...I bought it off the website Soft Surroundings for anyone interested.. Best wishes!

I dont touch carbonation but i know two banded people who drink it daily! They both have been banded for years with no problems with it. I choose not to chance it.

My first fill was 4cc..then another 1cc..at 5cc i cldnt adjust to it so two weeks later i had .5cc removed...the unfill left me with hunger and no restriction. My next visit he only gave me .25cc..again no restriction..two weeks ago he gave me 1cc so now i have no hunger..and mornings are tight..but im adjusting slowly..i have a 10cc band.

Ive been losing since mid december..banded 10.23..its been almost 8 weeks and still losing hair... its amazing how everyone reacts different. Ive taken all the right protein and vitamins including biotin and iron. Still happened. The general concensus is it will stop and come back. Just when and how much is the nagging question.

Hair that is. I thought it peaked but its still going strong about 6 weeks now. I keep telling my self its temporary but its so frightening. Any Veterans go through this extreme shedding? When will it slow down or stop and did your hair come back?

I have chronic gas too..why?? I seem to be the fortunate one with all these wonderful side effects!

This is the first i have ever heard of Biotin a B Vitamin causing wt gain. I dont believe that was the cause..

Oh hiccups are definitely a warning sign to slow down..put down the fork and wait. It also means you've ate too fast..too much..too soon. In my experience

I had an unfill at 5cc to 4.5 cc. I was getting stuck and throwing up with everything. Now at 4.5 i can eat anything..no more restriction and hunger is back..had zero hunger at 5cc. Frustrating. Getting the fill back next week. Gained 3lbs since the unfill.

Sh*tless. The massive amounts of hair leaving my head daily has sent me into a major depression. I now can see my scalp in the front and the part has widened. I could fill a sandwich bag with hair daily. Im heartbroken and this side effect has taken over my life. Constant worry. Banded 10.23.12. Noticeable loss since middle of December. Crazy loss starting at about 8 weeks. Im using Nioxin taking Biotin since before surgery. Im taking iron..i am low in ferritin. I take prenatal vitamins. My scalp feels funny and tingly and disconnected from my body. Im freaking out. I told the nurse and showed her by running my fingers and retrieving a fistful..she said thats odd with lapband. The Dr. told me I wont go bald and that it will come back. (He suggested Rogaine.) However my fear is it wont. My eyebrows half fell out about two years ago and i have no hair on my forearms that never grew back after i waxed them once. I know Ive posted this before and Im hoping to hear from someone who went through this and recovered. I know its only hair and maybe I sound shallow...but its unreal that i could lose so much everyday. Help
