Thanks! I was thinking exactly that... too big of bites, too fast! Gotta slow it down and small bites!
-
I have a question... I got my second fill on Monday and when I eat I belch a lot and have some discomfort until I can belch. Am I eating too fast? I feel like that is the cause. Any suggestions? I've had no problems with regurgitation or heart burn, and am able to keep everything down. Just concerned about the discomfort.

I had my first fill last week and that is the biggest struggle for me.... Slow eating, chew a lot, and smaller bites. I got stuck after inhaling my lunch at work cause I was really busy caring for a critical patient but was so hungry.... It was miserable and thought I was gonna throw up. Now I am trying to be more conscience but I still struggle. Glad to hear it is a learning process, cause I'm only post op 2.5 months. Sent from my iPad using LapBandTalk

No point in getting on the scale
crazy11777 replied to adugan's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You are doing fantastic! I am surprised that your surgeon gave you a fill... Mine wouldn't do it until I stopped losing weight. I am 10 weeks post op and just had a fill yesterday. My MD asked me a lot of questions about my weight loss and my hunger before he would do the fill. I want to be thin and healthy, and would love for it to happen overnight. But not realistic and I have to work hard for this. I am still struggling at times with knowing how to use my band to m benefit.... You got this! Slow and steady can win the race! I started doing boot camp training a year ago, and I loved it. I couldn't get the food down so that I would lose weight so I added my band as another tool! We warm up sometimes at boot camp by running, which I could never do, so I walked. BUT Friday I was at boot camp and I ran almost a mile without stopping and I did mountain climbers which I always found an excuse to get out of before. So even with my loss of 46 pounds it made a huge difference in what I can do! I have a long way to go to meet my goal, and have stumbled in this journey but I am gonna do this! Off for a bike ride and getting my first fill tomorrow! Excited!

I'm confused about nutrition and what my nutritionist said?

I was told by my nutritionist 60-80 grams of protein a day is correct. -

Name- Jessica June 30- 299 June 1st weight- 314 June dietary goal- no ice cream or calorie drinks ( I do account for the calories) June exercise goal- ride bike 3 days per week.... And boot camp once per week at least Banded since April 1st, and have currently lost 43 pounds. Sent from my iPad using LapBandTalk -
I just asked my nutritionist this question cause I do boot camp training and get light headed. I am taking in 800-1200 calories daily... he suggested eating a protein bar before my work out cause it has some carbs in it to use for energy and have a snack after too. I am going to try that this weekend.

I had my surgery April 1, and have not had a fill. My doctor said I don't need to see you unless you don't lose at least one pound a week. I have been losing steady.... Have lost 45.3 pounds since the start of my preop 03/19.... Sent from my iPad using LapBandTalk -

Welp.... it was my first faulter of the weight loss bandwagon since getting my surgery 6 weeks ago.... I struggle with Mother's Day since I lost my child 16 years ago, and so it is always hard for me and extremely emotional. I ate sweets, bread, and too much, which I am physically suffering from. I am so upset and disappointed in myself, but then the "brain" part says it is my emotional eating creeping up on me and it is such a hard "program" to beat. I am back on the band wagon ASAP.... but I am fearful of this emotional eating creeping up again in the future....

Thanks ladies! I am doing exactly that.... I weighed myself so that I had an honest answer on what I gained, and now I am on to start the day in the right mood and mindset. I am picking up my new bike that my parents bought me for mother's day tomorrow which will help me tremendously. I appreciate the support from this blog, and to know that I am not the only one that struggles with "bad days".

How long to notice the change in shoe sizes? I want smaller clothes for sure but I'm also super excited to buy smaller shoes...

I must say that I am only one month banded, and sometimes I have to step away from this forum cause it adds to my fear of complications..... But you are one of my favorite posters/blogger! Always positive and it keeps me being afraid some days! Thank you for your posts and positive attitude!

I am new to this too.... welcome! Glad this first day has gone well for you!

I have a friend with Addison's and she doesn't do hard core working out, but she does zumba, hiking, and walking with her dog. She tolerates it well. She does not have the lap band, but I wouldn't think that would make a difference when it comes to working out. Hope this helps!

Surgery in 2 days and scared of failure....
crazy11777 commented on skenn31's blog entry in skenn31's Blog
I was just banded on April 1, and I have had a variety of emotions.... and the fear of failure has for sure lurked in my mind at times. But I take one day at a time, and I follow the diet given to me by my MD. I look at this blog every day for support, and I have a great support system in my personal world that I rely on and to share my fears and victories with! You got this!!!!! -
I was just told no caffeine the first week while on liquids since it was a diuretic, but he didn't say anything for after the liquid week! Just no foo-foo, full of calorie coffee drinks which is what I loved! LOL

I took three weeks, but I am a nurse in an ICU.
