    November Sleevesters?

I'm November 1st in Houston, Tx. HELP ME: I'm sooooo sick to my stomach and I can't sleep at nite. I'm having a revision from a lap band and I'm so scared of what he's going to find when he takes the band off.

My docts office was able to get me any apt for tomorrow for a stress test (Im crossing my fingers and saying a prayer). Please keep us updated on your progress.

    Vomiting At Night

I wish you the best of luck and I hope its just something miner. I also suffered with acid reflux, vomiting in my sleep & throwing up in the past, but that was due to being way way to tight . I'm getting ready to have my band revision to a gastric sleeve due to band prolaspe & esophageal dysmobility. I will keep you in my prayers and please keep us updated on your progress.

    Harder Than I Thought

The gas is quite normal, it felt like I was having a heart attack. But with time it will get better, but you do have to get up and walk around to get the gas out of your body.

    I'm A Newbie

Welcome to the club :-) I was banded back on 2007. The only problem I had from surgery was alot of gas in my shoulders and a sore stomach, you have to walk to get the gas out. I weighted in at 309 lbs, I lost 100 lbs the 1st year. I got pregnant in 2009 and gained 60 lbs back, but most of that was due to being on bed rest. I gave birth in 2010 and well its 2012 now & I'm down to 188. You just have to remember that its a tool and weight loss might be slow in some cases but it will happen. Best of luck to you.

    Rethinking The Band

I was scared the weeks leading up to my surgery, I had second thoughts even when they were puttiing me to sleep. Even on the day of my surgery I had major stomach issues due to being so nervous. But I got over it because I knew deep down inside what my future would be like if I didnt do it & all hythe work I had did to get to this day. Its been 5 years and 117 lb lost to this day, I was a size 30/32 & now Im a size 10/12. The only advice that I give new bandsters are to not give up if the weight loss is slow. Always to remember that the band is a tool to help you to get healthy and live a long life. Please keep us updated on your progress and I wish you the best of luck.

    Hard To Say Goodbye :-(

Well back in July 2012 I was having a hard time swallowing and food keep getting stuck in my throat. I went to see my primary doct and he said that I thrush and proscribed me meds to correct the problem. Well after taken the meds I didnt see any improvement, so them I went to see my lapband doct. He removed all the fluids from my band and put me on a liquid diet for a few days. After day 2 started soft foods, but I still had the same problem, so I went back to my lapband doct and he did another barium test. He didnt see any problem and everthing was okay. I waited 2 more day on liquid and tried again with no luck. He scheduled me for a EGD which showed that the band had so much scare tissue that is had not much of an opening for food to go thru and that I had also developed Esophageal Dysmobility and the only way to correct it is to remove the band. After much research, I have decided to remove the band and get a gastric sleeve revision. We submitted the paperwork for insurance approval and crossed our fingers (my insurance is very picky and we have a 1 WLS per life time). We I got the approve last week from my doct and I go to surgery November 1st. Please keep me in your prayers and on your minds as I head to my next course of my weight loss journey. I cant wait to get this over with, Ive been on and liquid diet since July and cant keep most if not all foods down and sometimes I cant keep protein drinks down also. I WILL ALWAYS BE A BANDSTER FOR LIFE.
  11. When I got pregnant back in 09 I had all of my fluids removed and gained 60 of the 100 that I had lost. But alot of that is because I was in the hospital on bed rest for 3 weeks with a IV in my arm. It took me about 1yr to lose the weight back plus I lost an additional 20. My hormones were so messed up with all the meds I was given to stop my preterm labor.

    3 Weeks Post Op

That is normal to have slow weight loss, but the weight loss will start again. I have my band put in back in 2007 and I lost over 100 lbs the first year and I have been able to keep it off even after given birth 2yrs ago. I started @ 309 and I'm currently 188. Have you been released to start going to the gym and work out. I noticed that I lost it quickly once I started going to the gym and working with a trainer or just by myself. Just dont give up and hang in there for the long haul :-)
  14. I'm so sorry 2 hear about what ur going thru, I wish u a speedy recovery. Keep us dated on ur progress.
