Hi Donali, So glad you still have the phantom restriction. Hang on to that feeling as long as you can! Funny how I am avoiding pb'ing at all costs, and it is a good sign for you!
-
So sorry to hear about your leak! I'm glad they finally found it. This must have been a very frustrating year! I hope the process goes quickly and you are back on the losing track soon.

Hi, The pain meds constipated me. I ate some beets to get things moving again. Be sure to drink lots of water, too.

Down more than 20 BMI points!

Absolutely wonderful! I want to be you next year. -
Hi Darcy, I had a similar incident 3 weeks after surgery. (I am about six weeks out now.) I had a painful incident with a possible pea skin stuck. It doesn't seem possible, but that's the only explanation. I had residual pain for about 3 days. All the while I was thinking, OMG I've slipped my band! It finally went away and all is fine. I called my doctor and was advised to do just what I had been doing: heating pad, warm tea, liquids for a couple days. I worry about every little thing, and it's kind of embarrassing. But things are getting better. More experience, less worry. Hope things just keep getting better for you, too. You are not alone in your worries!

Okay, that was interesting! I scored 199, one point below a social menace. I can safely say I am above average. Hmmmm....I wonder what I could do to become a social menace by tomorrow?

Wow, Leo! Great job. You don't look overweight at all! Congratulations!

That must be difficult for your sister! No matter how much we say the doctor is unreasonable, he still plays the role of an authority figure. It sounds like he wants to punish her for wanting less fill. That's absurd! It sounds like she is doing great. I hope she can just ignore her doctor's strange behavior. I have had a partial hyster, still have all the hormones, and am doing fine with weight loss. I'm actually trying to slow down a bit from the liquid phase. I've been surprised that the weight is coming off so well at my age!

Sounds like you are doing great! You're right to put the negative comments in perspective. Most people are doing well, just asking for support when needed. I have told only my immediate family, too. Oh, and one person who asked me right out what my surgery was and took me off guard. I like not facing lots of questions and judgements at this stage of adjustment. Later I won't mind talking about it more, when I have gotten used to things. The liquid stage goes quickly, except when you're in the middle of it. It will be over very soon. Good luck with your journey.

I don't think I can do this anymore

Sounds to me like you are going through a lot of changes all at once, some of them emotional and some physical. Try to forgive yourself for your small lapses. Ten pounds is not that much. Make your doctor appointments and get your fill. Then see how it goes. I know it has been a long struggle, but step by step you will get it all worked out and get back on the losing trail. If things don't improve try to find a counselor of some kind to work with, whether it if weight loss or emotional. You deserve help through this! Hang in there! -
The yahoo groups Bandsters and Smartbandsters have a few people from European countries. Other than that, I don't know. Good luck.

That is some bruise! I didn't bruise like that, but it felt like that I would've gotten more sympathy at home if I'd had one of those puppies! Hope it feels better than it looks. Good luck with your healing.

Wow! You are recovering quickly from such an ordeal! I had adhesions from a hysterectomy/bladder lift many years ago. My band surgeon removed them. He said, "Someone had their hands in the wrong place." I took that to mean that the adhesions were a result of my previous surgeon's handling my liver, which is where they were. I've had sharp pains when I sneeze or cough heavily for years, since that surgery. Now it seems to be gone. My husband did a search for adhesions and found they are very common after surgery. That's all I know about them, which still leaves a lot of questions for me. Hope the rest of your recovery is smooth.
-
Good luck with your new band! Remember that the healing phase is short, it just sometimes might not feel like it. I am four and a half weeks out and finally feel great. Hope yours goes very well.

Hi Yani, Welcome! My surgeon requires 2 weeks of thin liquids and 1 of purees, then a week of soft foods. He was upset when I had cream soup a few days early. It really is worth it to protect your fragile band until it heals well. I won't start solids until Thursday, which is 5 weeks out, although I am working up to it gradually with soft foods. Be careful progressing and happy healing!

Hi Erika, This is a great place for caring support. It sounds like you are doing well.
-
Wow! That's incredible! Congrats on melting it off! Hope my loss goes as well as yours.

It sounds like the perfect time to get a fill, especially since you are there for a few days to try it out. It also sounds like you feel you need to do it. Good luck with your decision. I feel nervous about getting a first fill, too, but I'm not there yet. Whew!

I hope you have a ghost band that you can ride right on past the century mark! Of course you'll want to talk to bandsters if you are eating like one. Things will work out, I'm sure. You deserve it.

One year bandiversary (Crosspost)

What a great job! Your story is inspiring for all of us. And I'm so glad the horse survived! Ha! -
It got pretty rough during the first week for me. Gas and pain. It passed quickly, though. At 3 weeks I feel great. Hope your recovery is easy and fast.

I too am impressed with your gracious attitude toward an insensitive post. I admire you for sharing your experience for others to share. Shame on Dan for not appreciating your selfless contribution to the community. Keep up the good work. We are all here for you.
-
Good luck with your surgery! Take good care of yourself and bring out all your patience for the first phase.

Hi Marcia, I was banded by Dr. Cirangle on June 3rd. I live in Eureka, about 200 miles north of you. How has your experience been so far? I'm plugging along on liquids, starting to transition to Soups. I am also 49 years old.

I'm so sorry to hear of your erosion. It seems like your body knew what was wrong since you went to get the band checked first. Our bodies are so amazing. I wish you speedy healing and a good outcome through this very difficult procedure. Please continue to post and stay close to this wonderful banded family.
