You look great! That's the perfect dress. It sure makes a difference when we feel good about ourselves.

My dad used to sing this to me when I was young: <<Fatty fatty two by four, can't fit through the kitchen door.>> along with the "Too Fat Polka" which he sang to me and my mom while he danced us around the kitchen. I weighed......140 lbs. boy, I'd like to be THAT fat again! Well, same old story for the day: eating went well, water is happening..... no exercise and no good deed.... GEEZ.... I think I lost another lb. so I ate more today. So it goes....

Way to go Lisa on the 50! Keep it up. Theresa, glad to hear your husband is trying to toe the line. I ate almost all protein today. I forgot my lunch, so after sausage and egg for breakfast, had a beef stick and cheese stick, oh yeah, forgot about the dozen cheese crackers and then my husband made spaghetti with leftover roast (a very Italian thing to do) so I ate the beef. I'm cooking some beets from my dad's garden for a veggie. (It's also my secret weapon to prevent constipation, which has only been a concern since banding.) I think I'll have a beet and cantaloupe for a snack. Still not very balanced. No good deed today. Walked quite a bit at school. Almost there with the water, started late again. Okay, I need to hide my scale. I think I'll enlist my sweetie's help and try to wean myself to two times a week. I think I can....I think I can....

Not much to say about my day. I had a very good day with food. No snacking. Did fine with water. No exercise, except walking the mutt. Good deed: gave a girl who made copies for us extra money to cover for people who don't pay for them. I'm worried that my weight loss has stopped this week. I guess it's about time. Sorry to hear your husband is being a butt, Theresa. That's a pain. It sure doesn't help when you need to concentrate on school. Everyone have a good day tomorrow.

Gee, I like Darcy's exercise program -- or is that the good deed? <I think I'll hit my fella up for a little roll in the hay tonight... lord knows I need to burn a few extra calories!> Yesterday I helped a young man jump start his car for my good deed. Today I photocopied a few pages of a book for a needy student. I ate well today except for some trail mix when I got home. I ate the M&Ms, which I usually don't. We'll have a healthy dinner later, though. Still have another bottle (32 oz.) of water to go. Better hop on that one. Walked up the long hill again today and climbed to the 5th floor for a class. I'm counting that for exercise. It's getting a lot easier! I'll walk the pooch, too. Boy, if I had to have a regular exercise program or no fill, I'd have one empty band! (Of course, I don't need a fill yet, anyway.) I jumped on the scale a second time tonight. :guess Oops! (Trying to keep it a once a day.) It read 195! Then I tried again and it was up to 201. Serves me right! :sick I thought digitals were more accurate! Hope you all have a great day tomorrow.

We got some freshly picked corn at a farm stand. Last night I had half an ear for dinner, then half an ear for a snack later. Today I ate a whole ear and had a tummy ache. Ouch! (That would be my big, lower belly.) Of course, I have a mild allergy to corn, but it seems to affect me more now that I eat less. I've tried popcorn and the skins feel like they stick in my throat -- nowhere near my band. My throat is fairly sensitive. So I gave it up for fear of getting stuck or irritated. I'm still gonna eat corn!

Terrified of Lap Band or any other surgeries
Rebeccalee replied to a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I must tell you I was very anxious for the 2 months before my surgery. My recovery was more uncomfortable than others. But, boy, I would hope on that table again in a second. The results are worth all the anxiety. On the childbirth front (my "kids" are 27 and 28 ) I had an easier than normal time, so it doesn't always correlate. My new tattoo hurt, but I'm glad I got that, too! I read a support board for gastric bypass for a while a year before my surgery, just to see what it was like. I didn't really consider it, but when I read about the band, it took me a very short time to make up my mind. So.... if you don't feel ready now, don't feel like it can't happen later. You'll know when it is time, but that doesn't necessarily take away the nervousness. -
Wow Marie! Four lbs. this week! Your daily snack should bring that back to normal, so it sounds like a good plan. I keep thinking I need to cut out snacks, but so far it isn't hurting me. When it does, I'll reconsider. Now exercise....no excuse for not doing that. I did walk up the big hill and the long stairs at school today. And I did it without stopping to huff and puff -- one long, slow climb. It's about half a mile and all steeply uphill. I parked in the boonies, too. So I guess I'll count that for today.

My port was placed right between my 2 belly rolls and got pinched every time I sat down. It was pretty miserable for a few weeks. Now that the belly rolls are smaller my port doesn't bother me at all. It just took some time. It's fairly common to have soreness in the port area for a longer time than the other incisions. Hope yours improves quickly.

Penni, drink BIG, pee lots. Hope you are back down in no time. I started school today and my first thought when I entered the building was about the candy machine down the hall. I don't even use the thing, but I homed right in on it. I didn't go there, though. I guess it's first day nerves. I weigned this morning and my new scale (which is 2 to 3 lbs. heavier than my old scale at this point) read 199. I am officially under the 200 mark! Yeah!! I've been counting it already, but I guess I'll take the new scale weight even though I lose a couple pounds of loss. Sigh.... So I'm putting away the old scale. Maybe tomorrow I will try to weigh myself less often. Brought water and should have no problem getting it in with 2 hours between classes. Even ate a good breakfast. Hope everyone has a great day.

Both of you have great vacations! It is so nice to get away from it all, especially to such wonderful places.

I have had a great day. Guess yesterday scared me a bit. I ate very well, not snacking so far. We are having fish and chips at home, but I don't eat much. I am on track to finish my water if I push it a bit after dinner. Good deed: I let my son (grown) use my computer all day and only complained after several hours. Oops....no exercise yet. Guess it is not too late to get on the bike.

Well, I did some things all right.... I felt so bad that I hadn't started my Water until noon that I drank more than I usually do! We went to some friends' birthday party, so I ate way too much. I suppose it only ended up being the equivalent of a couple Snacks, but it felt like a lot. My good deeds were to fix a plate for an amputee at the party and help clean up. I only weighed once, this morning. (That's actually an improvement!) Exercise....walked the dog. Need to do more on that one. That's it for today. Tomorrow should be better.

Good luck on your surgery, Zoe! Hope your trip and your recovery are smooth. Plan your music event as far as "eating" goes and you'll have a great time. I went to a motorcycle/camping rally 2 weeks after surgery and had a good time. Eating out is a little difficult if you are on liquids or mushies, though. Just plan ahead. You're on your way!

This is scary! I have felt a bit paranoid when I honestly assess my surgeon on the boards, even though I didn't say anything bad. I'd hate to be monitored like that! My surgeon does have a journal I can fill out, but I KNOW he can look at it. So, I don't use it for anything but posting weight lost. Even though I follow my doctor's guidelines fairly well and am losing well, there are still things that my perfectionist (that's a good thing!) surgeon would not like. That's SO WRONG to base treatment on a support line! Besides, since when does eating chips cause slippage?! That's just weird.

OK! I want to join this challenge thread, too. I am starting to eat more and worried I will stop losing. Soooo.....I MUST weigh myself to check it, at LEAST once a day. Can I still join? Pleeeaaasse..... I will try to do a good deed and eat well and...GULP.....exercise....... :rambo But I need some of those jungle clothes like Penni has...maybe zebra, the stripes should look good. I wish I could come to Las Vegas, but we will be in Oregon on a motorcycle run. (Poor me )

Well, I'm starting to miss my boobs. I keep telling my DH that it will only cost $5000 to get new ones. I love being able to tie my shoes and cut my toenails without trouble, too. And my hands don't feel pudgy anymore, they feel downright delicate. But I'm afraid the wattle hanging from my chin is not at all what I had in mind. I suppose that's another $5000 to pull that up. It actually is a row of several wattles. My mom has one of those big ones with no neck, so at least I've always had a neck. Now there's just a lovely dangly to go with it! Of course, the positive changes far outweigh (or should I say "underweigh" ) the negatives!

I can't believe you didn't weigh yourself for a whole month! (Says the addict who won't join the weigh-once-a-week challenge. ) I guess that's one way to surprise yourself on your birthday. It's great that you can fit those favorite jeans. This journey sure has a lot of rewards that add up to feeling good! Happy Birthday!

There were "full service" DQs in Oregon and Idaho on our way back from vacation. They have a lovely Moolatte coffee drink. I'm sure it doesn't have ANY ice cream in it, since I don't eat that nasty stuff. Sure glad they don't have them in my little corner of the world!
-
HOT DAMN!! The things you miss when you go on vacation! You look fantastic, Donali. I wear the all cotton, no underwire Cacique from Lane Bryant and love them. Sadly, my C cup is deflating and I'm gonna have to roll 'em up to fill it up. Sigh... But the upside is that I won't have to go to Lane Bryant much longer to find bras. Isn't it amazing how the feeling of control the band gives can make ya feel so sexy!?

Ask your doctor for sure. My doc had me use Protein supplements to reduce hunger. It really helps. I used unjury and Isopure liquid. They both are much easier to take than some of the others, which I can't stand. He said to get 70 grams. I was happy when I reached 50. Also, make sure you are drinking lots of Water. That helps, too. Oh, and I ate sugar-free popsicles and fudgsicles. Yum! That helped my head and my tummy, too.

I must confess to jumping on the scale several times a day. That probably won't stop until my weight loss slows down. I am totally amazed at the rate of loss I have had for 8 weeks now. I think it is starting to slow down, but still losing more than average. I will take every bit I can get! When I am losing 2 lbs. a week I will stop hopping on the scale. Promise.
-
Way to go! I can't wait for 77 lbs! I'm just 6 weeks out and have moved from size 22 jeans to 18! I love making my "too big" pile. I'm flying to Kansas on Monday (from CA) to see my grandson and packing includes trying on everything to see what fits! It's too good to be true!
-
OK! I'm checking in... My surgery went well and I am adjusting fairly well. My setbacks have been small and not really related to banding. I just happened to wreck my motorcycle at 5 weeks out and have had trouble moving to solids because of whiplash and swelling...again, not band related. I have good days and not so good. Some of this is because I am wimpy. I am not used to pain and really don't like it one little bit! Also, I take some time to adjust to changes. My band is doing great! I am losing steadily and making a pile of "too big" clothes. Yeah! So...I am very pleased with my band and one of the very fortunate ones who had insurance to pay part of the cost. I am also one of the extremely fortunate ones who has not had to deal with much hunger.

Hi Heather, Sounds like you are doing great. You've lost about 8 pounds a month. Yeah! Hope your fill will kick it back up again.
