Has anyone elses Husband done this??
Rebeccalee replied to pati-o's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My husband is very supportive, but he was a little reserved at first. Banding seems like a luxury (we know better) and a very drastic measure. He is absolutely fine with it now that he sees how it works. It is an adjustment for everyone. Give it time. He'll come around. Talk to him when he presents the opportunity and give him time to see it work. And by the way --- IT WORKS!! -
That's a pretty rosy picture of the lapband. It's nice to see a positive view of it. Thanks for sharing that one, Betty.

I hope you are back to normal come Monday, Leatha. It sounds like you have been totally miserable. Hope the switch in medications goes well, too.
-
Watch out, Greg, or I'll vote for Labor Day for sure!! Besides, I thought you said you'd share a bed with my hubby??
-
Fantastic, Teresa! So glad you broke that plateau. Are you back at school?
-
Lisa, Either weekend is fine with me. If it is the week after Labor Day, hubby can plan a motorcycle run. If it is Labor Day, there's an extra day for most people. I think if there is a better weekend for you, since you do so much to prepare, pick that one. Just let us know so we can make plans.

Babs, What that message said about lacking a challenge was interesting. I wonder if you could combine a challenge with exercise to help you to goal. Like Penni training for the 5K walk or people who train for marathons and take on big challenges like that. Ten years ago I trained at the gym before a trip that included hiking into and out of the Grand Canyon in one day. I lost about 10 pounds, got very fit (for me), and walked 22 miles in one day -- up and down the canyon. Hope you find the way to get where you want to be. You have done a fantastic job already.

Carb Countdown Dairy Beverage/Milk

I took a drink of that and poured the whole carton down the sink. I always wonder if I was mistaken, maybe just didn't feel good or something. I sure don't want to buy another carton, though. Go figure. -
Keep up the good work. It will take a few days to feel better. After that the feeling better is a lot of fun!
-
Darcy, I'm so glad you are looking into coming. I want to meet you! You can do it! My old man is coming with me. He wants to play, too. Now don't chicken out! PS Greg, you can share a room with me and hubby. :laugh

It sounds like everything is working out just right. Congratulations!
-
So sorry to hear you are so miserable. I hope the shot works for you, too. Take good care of yourself. I hope it doesn't last too long.
-
Sue -- 93 lbs. since July is awesome! Keep up the good work. And you are doing fantastic, as usual, Lisa. You just keep on keeping on. You will have restriction before too long now that you have a port.

Thanks Melissa. My hair is actually shorter than usual. I lost so much that it is really thin. At least I had enough to start with that I didn't have to cut it all off. I truly think that some people's hair doesn't grow long, that we all have some "preferred hair length gene." I definately skipped the "fixing yourself up" training, so I'm glad I live in an area where the natural look is acceptable. I admire people like you who can arrange hair so it looks nice. I just don't have the skill or patience for that.

My hiccups were almost violent they were so strong and bounced around inside me. They'll go away after the swelling goes down more. It was scary, but didn't hurt my band.
-
Is the pain in your chest or where your port is? You may have pulled out some stitches holding your port in place. Or it may be some other problem. This really is one for you doctor. Actually, any questions you worry about are worth calling your doctor. Hope it gets better soon.

Whoa...that is so strange....no, I am so strange. I eat them puppies all the time--well, not all the time, but often. I do tend to chew them a lot. I like the low fat ones that are softer and have softer skins. I guess I won't try those old-fashioned ones with the tough skin. Maybe I'll give them up, too. :ermm

This is the same picture of me and my "puppy" but I cut him out. He's in the dog house. Thanks for all the compliments. I'm blushing something awful. :nervous

Happy Birthday -- and congratulations on the smaller pants!

Does that mean I have to give up those malted milk eggs that turn your mouth blue and pink? Awww...... You know I'm not gonna let you get ahead of me, Greg. In the past, someone kept track of things by posting a list and each person cut and pasted it to include their own info. People who need help just ask. That worked really well. So .... I should eat all my candy now to be prepared for Easter? I wonder if those candy eggs are out yet....

There is something in the air...PLEASE HELP!!
Rebeccalee replied to melissalee's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Melissa, I would also say to stick to liquids for a day. If you can drink Water this afternoon and do not have pain, you'll be fine until you get home. There are few things that can be true emergencies with the band. Just stay hydrated. You could have temporary tightening due to stress or PMS. You could have a delayed restriction due to your fill. Don't worry about rare complications yet. Hang in there. I'm very sorry to hear about the passing of your grandmother. Hope all is better soon. -
Everyone is doing great. Even Darcy, who lost that 6 lbs. last week. I lost 2 since last Monday, but put it in my signature Thursday, which is my official weigh-in day, so no new loss to report today. I love the ticker tapes. They give such a nice visual of the weight loss.

Try ObesityHelp.com They have quite a bit going on. There has been talk on here, but no plans at all.

Hope your surgery is uneventful and your recovery is easy.

Welcome, Emmy. You are off to a great start. I have an email friend who is Dr. Ponce's patient. She has done great with him.
