Margie and Michelle -- It's good to see it move, isn't it?! Glad you both saw a loss. DeLarla --Those 40s are right there! Keep moving it! (Maybe I'll move mine a bit, too. ) Betty -- YeeHaw! You are on the way, Baby! Doesn't that make it feel a whole lot better?! You are doing so great, exercising and all. Fantastic! :Bunny

Thanks, Greg, I'll need it. You have a good night. I'm going to sleep.
-
 Greg, you are burning it up! I lost another 2 this week, but you are going to pass me by very soon. Way to go!

Jodie, So sorry to hear you are having trouble. This is so soon after your surgery! It sounds like you have started to plan what actions you will take. That will help a lot. Keep busy and you will make it through all right.

Any One Up For an Exercise Challenge?
Rebeccalee replied to live2canoe's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
The wedding we went to yesterday had a motorcycle procession to lead the newlyweds to the reception. My hubby rode his bike, but I rode with my parents. It was fun -- and very noisy. -
Fantastic! You are going to meet your Christmas goal easily. Are you sure you needed a fill? Hope the fill works out great.

How often will you use the Chat room ?
Rebeccalee replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I would love a weekly scheduled chat time. I join one on another board once in a while, but would make a point to use it on this board. Thanks for asking, Alex. -
Woo Hoo! There you are Betty! Glad to see the custom avatar buttons are back on board. I was worried that I'd never get to update my photo. Thanks so much Alex, for fixing all the bugs and making this such a beautiful site! :Bunny

Good luck with your surgery. You will not fail as long as you work with your band. Coming to the boards for support is the best thing you can do to help you succeed.
-
I can't believe I just went one whole day without being on the board! I went to a wedding and then on a motorcycle run. When I got home my son was on my computer. I was so tired, I didn't even fight him for it! Now I have a lot of catching up to do.

banded??? please respond!!! restriction questions!
Rebeccalee replied to shellyj's topic in The Lounge
1. when you drink first thing in the am is it more like: c. i can drink room temp. cold beverages (about 20 oz. in a hour or less) d. none of the above- some mornings I have trouble taking in anything but warm liquids and sometimes they even are uncomfortable 2. for breakfast i eat: PLEASE also list the time of breakfast! -- oh...8 to 11?? a. protien shake...keeps pouch full for hours b. mushies- scram eggs, yogurt, cheese keeps pouch full for hours c. solids keeps pouch full for hours --sausage e. hmmmph i skip breakfast -- it depends on the day :ermm 3. do you ever have acid reflux, indigestion? d. occasionally 1-2 times a month --I think?? It doesn't come up to my mouth, I'm not sure, but I have burning in my esophagus sometimes. 4. how much can you eat of the following (round-a-bout): protien shake: 12 oz. probably shouldn't, might be why I'm uncomfortable *chicken (prepared any way BUT not real saucy- just meat!): thigh--one small, otherwise I sauce it. *salad: don't know, I've only tried a couple bites *sandwich (made of reg. size sandwich bread) -- don't eat bread, by choice, don't know if I can; can eat about quarter cup of innards *chicken, soft veggie, carb or another veggie (i know this varies with the order you eat in BUT please go buy how you typically eat?): I can only eat about a quarter cup at a time, sometimes close to a half. I tend to eat foods separately and eat more often. (Doc said to eat more often and less because of esophageal irritation.) 5. are you happy with your restriction? b. no but i have good restriction --I would like to eat more at a sitting to get in a balanced diet. I do not have a fill. I do feel very lucky that I have restriction, though. (I am still adjusting :roll eyes: ) 6. when you pb why is it: choose all that apply a. because i ate to fast or too much or WHO THE H8LL KNOWS WHY! e. pb??? whats that i am perfect --I just get pain, coughing, and more pain. I don't pb. 7. how often do you pb? a. never!!! never have -- ever. 8. how much liquids do you get in in a day? -- Varies from day to day. a. i struggle to get in 64 oz. (because of restriction) b. i struggle to get in 64 oz. (because i'm lazy) c. 64 + ounces a day no problem 9. do you eat in the correct order (protien first, veggies, then carb): a. all the time... well 90% -- in order to get enough Protein. b. ummm no i eat however i want -- this also appies :nervous 10. do you drink with meals: b. nope -- a few rare occasions I have in order to eat at all or relieve pain, it doesn't make me pb. I do not feel that my experience is the norm. I also don't understand a lot of what happens with my band at this point. I may have a very high placement which restricts amount, or else I'm just slow to catch on. -
Fantastic! It's so great to hear how life has changed for the better after the band.
-
My mom had some done. It hurts some. I'll ask her how permanent it was tomorrow.
-
So sorry to hear of another death in your family. Take care traveling. We are all thinking of you and sending loving thoughts your way.

New hairstyles all around! We can do this, Ladies! I'll probably cut mine up to mid-back, which I do once in a great while. I worry now that I'm older that it takes longer to grow, but by the time I get to goal I should be back to normal.

2 days since the surgery
Rebeccalee replied to melissalee's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
So glad your year-long struggle is over! That's a long time to wait. The first couple weeks after surgery are not too pleasant, but the memory fades quickly and it is all worth it in the end. Congratulations! -
Beautiful rings, Penni. DeLarla wants them to go with her tiara. Congrats on the 50 lb. mark. It's so fun to see everyone's great accomplishments.
-
That bear could use a nice dress and some new shoes to go with the boa. Of course, naked with a boa is quite sexy, too. Great going with the weight loss, Penni.
-
Isn't it nice to know that you are in top shape for your surgery! So glad you don't have any more hoops to jump through.

Any One Up For an Exercise Challenge?
Rebeccalee replied to live2canoe's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Geez....that's just not fair to let someone who just had surgery join the exercise challenge and put me to shame. Way to go Betty. Guess I better get off my behind if I want to lose it. -
Hang in there Denise. Some people have found serious health problems they didn't know about when preparing to be banded and averted future tragedy. You are on the way to banding and will be there before you know it.

A girl I worked with used to help her 2 brothers with their rafting concession in the canyon every summer. She loved it. I prefer backpacking, but it's all an adventure. Nowadays my adventures tend to have a little more plush to soothe the ol' body.

It happens about 4 months after anesthesia. It was right on schedule for me. :ermm:
-
Gina, I'm right on schedule with you. I have been losing handfuls of hair for 2 weeks. I wonder, though, if I hadn't grown some replacements in the last few months. Still, my hair is getting thinner and I thought about cutting it. My husband and I have promised each other not to cut our hair without talking to the other. We both have and love long hair. The last time I cut my hair short was when I was 11 years old. I swore never to do it again. That was 38 years ago! I'm just gonna tough it out. I sure hope it doesn't go on for 9 months, though! At this rate I may have to take a curling Iron to it -- and I just hate messing with my hair. At least I'm thinner, so my hair probably doesn't seem as thin as did before. I hope. :nervous:

Unfortunately, we must all deal with our addictions daily. The best way to deal with LBT addiction is to just give in and chat away.
