If You Loose You Hair, Will It Grow Back.
Rebeccalee replied to adoorme9's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Yes, it grows back. In fact, it's probably growing back before it even falls out. Most people think it's hormones or anesthesia. Just make sure you get adequate protein and you'll be fine. And it doesn't ALL fall out. Just some of it. -
When I was preparing for surgery, the doc asked if my hysterectomy was a vertical or horizontal incision. I said I didn't know. I felt really dumb. But I ccouldn't easily see under my belly roll -- it took a good mirror and some contorsions. Well, now I know it was horizontal and runs right in the crease of my belly roll -- 'cause I can lift up my flabby ol' roll and look now. I think that's a NSV??

Miss Lisa, Small capacity is probably good restriction -- I don't know! I've just never been able to eat more than half a cup or less since surgery. That's a good thing, but I whine about it all the time. :ermm It hurts if I eat more, but I don't pb. I guess that's just my body's way. It was just good to actually see someone else eat so little, rather than just hear about it. I felt like a normal bandster.

I want to share a highlight of my trip to Monterey. Walter and I stopped on our way and met Carol (cadydid) and her husband for dinner. What a terrific inspiration! She has lost so much weight so quickly! She looks fabulous! I was so inspired by her dedication. It was also encouraging to meet someone who has the small capacity that I do -- and she doesn't whine about it! Now that's what I need to learn! I feel ready to tackle all the challenges ahead! Thanks Carol! :Bunny

I have had enough loss for one year

With all your accumulated stess, I don't blame you for wanting to hide! But we all know that won't help. Troubles will find us. The very best thing for you now is to be around people who care. I think it is sweet that John went on your walk with you. My thoughts are with you. May your pain heal quickly and leave fond memories of all who have passed. -
There are SO many right now -- especially since the scale is not moving. :ermm I shop in REGULAR stores. I wear a size LARGE -- not XXL ! My favorite lately -- :banana I THINK I'M SEXY !! :banana I don't feel so different :alien There are SO many !! HAPPY GIRL :laugh

smoothies are thick.. How do you get it all in?
Rebeccalee replied to momhappe1's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I worried over that very question for months. Now I wish I had just ignored it. TRY to get in enough protein. Throw in something to make you "go". Drink ALL your water. Then forget about it. After five months I feel fine, very healthy. Take a multivitamin and don't worry. (That's what my doctor said, but I don't listen too well. ) I had (and basically still have) a low capacity. It's all right, but it IS hard to adjust to it. And remember -- you are probably still swollen from surgery. This is normal. -
That's beautiful, Darcy. Isn't it great to see a finished product!? You should be very proud. You scared me for a minute with the title of this thread. Hand in the cookie jar....who ME?.....I thought you had that new spyware on my computer! I'm going to get busy like you are and keep my hands very, very busy. I haven't lost in 2 weeks -- the one pound can't count if it came back, right?!? Time to make changes. I'm so happy you are doing so well. You are a shining example for me.

Well, I've got it backwards again. I roll out these long, extended belches when I eat some things -- like garlic. Farting? Not so much. I guess I just get rid of it right up front. I get stomach cramps if I wait too long to eat. I don't think of it as gas, although it feels like that. I thought it was cramps.

Rebeccalee replied to live2canoe's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I did 30 minutes on the motel treadmill, then stopped at the outlet mall and bought a new exercise outfit. Size Large (Down from XXL) Now I will look hot (not sweaty) when I exercise! It sounds like everyone is doing great! Way to go, Ladies! -
Any One Up For an Exercise Challenge?

Hey, Penni! This is great! Got my laptop hooked up at the Holiday Inn and I can actually check up on you guys. My exercise was walking down on Cannery Row in Monterey, CA. We went to the aquarium and shopping and tourist stuff. I'm going to try to get my butt in the fitness room later. Now I'm going to visit family. -
Good idea to take off work to recooperate. Congratulations on your new band. Those Protein shakes do get old, even the good ones. But that's good, because before too long you will be on solids and liquid calories will be out. I used Isopure liquid, which got old and unjury powder, which I still like. It has to be ordered online, though, and is pricey. (www.unjury.com) Glad things are getting better each day.

I'm thinking about it!! Crazy, huh?! I haven't mentioned it to DH. My grandson is in Kansas and I could swing by there. Hmmm.... Probably just a candy-induces fantasy.

:laugh You guys are cracking me up. What do you want pics of Betty? Me rolling up my boobs? LOL Because there is NO WAY you are getting pics of me jiggling my flab around and calling it belly dancing! -
Wow! Now that will bring the total loss up a notch. Congratulations!

LOL :laugh With the little one, of course. That big one is rolled up and tucked into my panties -- kinda like what used to be my boobs -- rolled up and tucked in! :guess -
Blossom, wishing you the best on Friday. I will be out of town, so not sure if I will be able to post while I'm gone. Hope everything goes perfectly!

Any One Up For an Exercise Challenge?

I am starting belly dancing with a HOG (Harley owners group) group of women next Sunday. There are just a half dozen who get together, dress up, and learn to dance. One of them is quite a dancer, the rest do it for fun. I couldn't bring myself to join until I lost some of my belly. There will be one other woman there who is my size and everyone else is my age. Couldn't ask for a better way to do it! -
Great, Betty! Sounds like you are making progress now! Congrats on the terrific weight loss! Happy, happy, happy for you!

Sorry you have pain Marie... hope it all works out with the little unfill. Funny how restriction changes for no good reason...even without a fill. Oh, and Greg's bananas, too ---- :banana :banana --- only one pound!

Hmmmmm.... That could mean the banana's belong to Betty or that.... Betty IS bananas.......:laugh My English teacher inner voice just couldn't resist:D

I still get sad or angry once in a while because I can't eat something I want to eat. It's natural. It is rare, though, now that I am through the healing stage and getting more used to it. The happiness at losing and eating better is much stronger. When it hurts, stop eating. I know it's hard, but do it anyway. If it is uncomfortable every time you eat mushies, go back to liquids. I have ignored irritation and discomfort and eventually, I had to go back to liquids. Be careful with yourself. You WILL get to eating normally soon. Be gentle with yourself about losing until you are fully healed and nicely restricted. Everything you are feeling is normal. It may not feel good right now, but it will be all right soon. Hang in there.

I worry about going into menopause because of surgery, too. I had a partial hyster several years ago and have been doing the peri-pause for quite some time, but as far as I know I still have those hormones. I'm sure I'll notice when they go missing. So far, at about 5 months out, I haven't had an symptoms. Is your only symptom that you haven't had a period? I would think if it were full-blown menopause that you'd have hot flashes and all that crazy stuff. Hope your loss speeds up again soon.
