Band Erosion/Having it removed after only one year
Rebeccalee replied to catfanlover's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Sorry you have to go through this. It must be painful and frustrating in many ways. Hope things work out all right for youl -
You look fantastic, Ginger! So glad you posted your picture. It's so encouraging to see successful bandsters.

One-on-one holiday exercise challenge, anyone?
Rebeccalee replied to Zoe's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Not much for rules....just keep trying to lose weight. I think some of us are concentrating on exercising more to lose. Official start date is Monday the 22nd and we "race" until Jan. 3rd. I think Greg might make an email graph to chart our progress, not sure on that one. We can report in any time we want, since this is meant to be encouraging and supportive through the holidays. I think that's it -- and, of course, I aim to lose more than Greg when all is said and done. -
One-on-one holiday exercise challenge, anyone?

I think the Texas overnighter is a good excuse to miss. And from the pics you posted, it looks like you kept pretty busy. You're back on it now, though, so keep us motivated, Fringe Girl! -
I was just thinking it was time you posted. I'm glad it went well. Hope you are back on top soon.

Me, too, Marie! And I have a motorcycle. I'll get some of those leggy chaps next summer. -
One-on-one holiday exercise challenge, anyone?
Rebeccalee replied to Zoe's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Oh, Betty, you have the secret weapon, though. You actually exercise every day! Now, that is what I'm trying to get the hang of. AND...who's doing crunches?! Isn't that against the rules?! I don't do no stinkin' crunches. :rambo -
One-on-one holiday exercise challenge, anyone?
Rebeccalee replied to Zoe's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm 49, five and a half months banded, and have 32 pounds to lose. I also plan to eat some goodies through the holidays. So I really need some booty-kicking exercise to go with all that. -

I posted a prize idea on the new thread. Come on over, Lisa! Now back to regular exercise posting.... I have been washing walls and going up and down a step ladder. That will be my exercise for the day. Phew! Betty, are you still trotting along on the treadmill? -
One-on-one holiday exercise challenge, anyone?
Rebeccalee replied to Zoe's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I agree with Zoe -- we need a prize for this one. I will put together a basket of goodies for the winner. It will have things with which to pamper yourself -- lotions, lo carb/cal drinks and treats, etc. Will this work? I'll make a hat to go with it. -

Ha! That's how I feel on the Step Mill, too. I used it (10 years ago) because I couldn't make the stepper thingy go up and down -- but I could climb stairs. Klutz r me. Believe me, I put it on the lowest setting that is actually moving in rhythm. Thanks for the encouragement. And... 30 minutes on that thing is great. I will try the elliptical trainer at some point too. But on the stairs, I feel like I'm actually going somewhere. Maybe it should be called Jacob's Ladder or the Tower of Babel. Gauntlet of Death seems appropriate, though. -

Those are great avatars. Nice job, Lisa. Marie, you could do one of those calendar poses Greg was talking about. -
Wow! Great pics and you look awesome! I like the first one, too.

You are such a gentleman. How about one month -- from Nov. 22 to Dec. 20. We'll count pounds lost during that time. Will that work for you? Oh, and thanks so much for watching out for my "back." -

So, you are a brave man. :devious Do you want to set the parameters of the challenge? (End date, exercise only, pounds lost, whatever?) My weapon of choice is called the Step Mill -- duhn duhn (that's dramatic music.) It is NOT a stair stepper, it looks like a short escalator-to-nowhere. It kicks butt. Once upon a time I could do 45 minutes on that bugger...puff..puff.... Last time I tried it I nearly died after 5 minutes. I really need to work on my behinder muscles. (Is that a good euphemism, Lis?) I could hear you shiver in fear, Greg. -
Had to see the nurse practioner today...

I didn't even get to have mushies until week three. Go easy and take good care of that lovely band. Your diaphragm will insist on it if you don't. -

So I can spell tushie any way I want to? How freeing! -
Okay, now I will be thankful... My family is awesome and they all still speak to me. We are all healthy and happy. I have hope that my future will be as blessed as my present and past. We have all we need and a lot that we don't. I have this wonderful support group to help keep me sane. My friends know me and still like me. My world is full of beauty and blessings. :Bunny

I thought for YEARS that my aunt's house (up here in tornado-free northwest) had the corner torn off by a little tornado. I REALLY remembered this as a TRUE memory! Talk about trauma! Then my son moved to Kansas and had my only grandson out there! Of all the nerve!

Hey! I don't use anything I can't spell! -
Thank you for checking on that. It is good to know all we can about our bands. It helps me to worry less.

I like Unjury unflavored because it doesn't taste bad. I believe it is whey protein. You can order it at www.unjury.com.

Okay, Greg...I think it's time to make this official. The race is on! I really appreciate the 2 month head start since I'm a girl. Just tell me the date and the number and I'll beat ya there -- or exercise my butt off trying! :rambo I think this is just the kick in the butt I was looking for! (Hee Hee I said butt twice.)
