    The November 'band'wagon!

Anyone having issues with larger pills like Metformin? I took one tonight and now I feel extremely bloated. I am hoping to god I didn't get one stuck in there on my first night. And on top of that I am afraid to take my pain meds now.

    The November 'band'wagon!

Hey Folks...I finally had my band surgery. so far so good. The pain is tolerable...though I'm on Percocet. Worst part for me so far is a sore throat from being intubated. Gas pain isn't bad. I'm moving around quite well and I am keeping fluids down without any issues!

    The November 'band'wagon!

Approved! Just a few hours too late Although I am now officially a December Bandster I am happy that the final bureaucratic hurdle is cleared.

    The November 'band'wagon!

Just not approved in time. Likely because of the holiday and offices being closed.

    The November 'band'wagon!

Bummer. My surgery has been delayed after all. Likely I will no longer be a November bandster. Keeping my spirits up. Keeping busy by rescheduling everything. Best of luck to you all going in this week!

    The November 'band'wagon!

Thanks! I am going to call them for sure tomorrow. I was told that I wouldn't get an answer before Monday which in my head just meant that no matter the outcome, I was going to have to follow my Pre-op instructions this weekend (which I have) since my surgery is scheduled for Tues. So, today I did a liquid diet and took magnesium citrate. Tomorrow will be just Clear liquids. I suppose the positive way to look at it is that it's all good prep work. And it will help me towards my goal.

    November Bandster!

It's so frustrating that I have to basically pretend that I'm having surgery on Tues, when most likely my insurance won't come through and I'll be pushed back a week. I have to do the whole Pre op routine twice. Blurgh. I'm wishing the rest of you the best of luck though.

    The November 'band'wagon!

Found out yesterday that my insurance hasn't cleared me yet. With the holiday, the soonest we can hear back is Monday. My surgery is scheduled for Tues. :-(. I have to stay positive and hope it works out. But I may have it pushed off.

    The November 'band'wagon!

That's reaffirming. I certainly don't recall anyone telling me to get on a liquid diet. I feel like I would have remembered that! It's just with all the hurdles we all have to jump through to get to this point pre-surgery. If I missed something that major I would have felt awful.

    The November 'band'wagon!

I'm a little nervous from what I've seen on this forum. I am due to have my realize band surgery on Nov 27th. Yes, I have been told to start limiting my calories and have been instructed in what to do in the two days before the surgery. But I wasn't given a very strict liquid diet plan by my nutritionist for the weeks leading up to it. I have just started investigating what protein drinks are good and which ones suck so I can try them out. And now I am seeing that other people are drinking two shakes a day then a very limited dinner. I am so worried that I have totally screwed myself on this end of things. Don't get me wrong. I am eating less and losing weight. But I am not at all on even a semi liquid diet and I am only 1 week till surgery. Can anyone clue me on this?

    The November 'band'wagon!

I'm scheduled for the Tuesday after Thanksgiving in New Jersey. I've been cleared the Nutritional and Behavioral hurdles. I'm getting the endoscopy in a couple weeks and then it's just the PCP clearance and my Pre-op visit. I'm excited, but very nervous.Trying to wrap my head around a manageable pre-surgery routine. I'm open to any and all suggestions that might help. Good luck to the November Band of Brothers/Sisters.
