    Almost scared to eat

Take it slow. I am still learning to listen to my body about being satisfied. I get plenty of rumbles during the day, but I am learning to go with how I feel and not the rumbles. I am 11 days post-op and felt I was ready to introduce mushies, but thought I'd better check with my doctor. His nurse told me no mushies. Stay on the liquid diet which is for 2 weeks after surgery. I go see him Thursday and hope at that time I can go to next step. I do what the Doctor or his Nurse tells me, as I don't want to mess up what I have waited for almost a year to get done. Good Luck!

    GI problems and protein powder

I've been pretty much living off Atkins shakes (banded Sept 19th) and get gassy and bloated. So uncomfortable, but only have 5 days left on liquids. Take Gas X each morning before going to work and that seems to help.

Day 8 and still geeling sore

I was banded on the 19th as well. I went to Wal-Mart today for our weekly shopping and when I got home, got all unloaded and put up, I was exhausted. Laid down for a little bit and got up and felt like I was ran over. I'd call that a good work-out

Day 8 and still geeling sore

I was banded 8 days ago too and went back to work on my 5th day. It's going to take awhile to heal. My back hurts, but I know it's because I don't sit up straight like I should. I take some Aleve in the am and it seems to help. When I worked all day Tuesday and got up Wednesday morning to go to work, I just wanted to stay in bed and sleep. I was exhausted and sore, but I got up, My main problem is when I bend over or go to sit down I have to press against my port area to keep it from hurting so bad. I checked with the nurse(emailed her Sunday evening and she replied back within 20 mins!)and she said it sounded like my port was catching and it would get better. Hope you get to feeling better.

    Depressed

When I took my bandages off the day after surgery I thought I was allergic to the tape because of the redness, etc., but my husband, who has had a few surgeries, told me it would go away and it did. If it doesn't get better you need to call your surgeon. Tomorrow is a brand new day. Hang in there!

    Gas pains?

I'm 6 days post-op and went back to work yesterday. I think I'm going to have to take a break in the afternoons and drive around (with the windows down) just to get relief! Got the Gas X, but think I took it too late today. Will try again tomorrow.

    nervous!!

I was really nervous the day before, but the day of I was better. I guess because I had been waiting so long and it was The Day. I tried to stay busy the day before, actually a few days before. But that morning goes by so fast. After surgery when I got home, I laid down for a little bit, but after that, have been trying to stay busy, which has kept the gas pain at a minimal and has helped me feel better. Good luck to you and keep us posted

    Pulled Port ???

The day after being banded I was trying to stay active and when I bent over it felt like my stitches were pulled apart. So now when I bend over, I hold the area of my port to keep from the pain and sensation of feeling like my tissue is tearing from the inside. I thought I'd give it a couple of days to see if it got better, because everything else was going really well. I finally emailed the Dr's nurse yesterday evening (Sunday) and she emailed back (within 20 mins, as they are awesome like that) and told me I am probably catching the port and can also have muscle spasms after doing that and I should not be concerned, it will heal.

4 days post op - Help

I was banded this past Thursday and get hungry. Veggie broth helps but hunger comes back 1-2 he's after I let it settle. Just try to sip slow out of cup. Drinking Powerade, sobe Water and hot tea in btwn. Seems to help. One day at a time.

    Finally Banded :)

I have been trying to stay busy today as they say to "ambulate" but I think I may have overdone a little. The no calorie PowerAide is good. My neighbor who also had this done back in January (we went to the seminar together) told me to try the Sobe-Lifewater (white caps only as they are the ones with no calories) and they offer a lot of different flavors with vitamins. Also the beef and veggie broth is good. The nurse told me anything I can suck through a straw, I can have, but then your Doctor may say different. Sorry for your gas pain as I heard that can be bad. Hope you feel better tomorrow
  22. After almost a year I was finally banded yesterday, Sept 19th. All went well. Came home and laid down for a bit, then started thinking about what many people go thru on the shoulder pain from gas, so I tried to get up and walk around the house as much as possible. Woke up thru the night some, but when I got up this morning, no pain in shoulder, yet. Just really sore where they did procedure. I can't believe I was actually a little hungry yesterday after I got home, but all is good. Tried some black coffee with sweetener this morning, could not handle it. So drinking my no calorie Gatorade. Plan to walk more today and do some work from home. How is everyone else doing and when is/was your surgery this month?

    Pre-op Finish Line

The Surgeons nurse suggested a book called "Eat it Up" by Connie Stapleton (The complete mind/body/spirit guide to a full life after weight loss surgery) I would recommend it to anyone having weight loss surgery. Good luck to you.
