1/2 cup each meal if I don't get stuck! 1/2 of protein then 1/4 veggies 1/4 carbs . Sometimes I get really hungry and forget then it's too late. Last stuck and lost it at lunch yesterday so put myself back on muddies this week. Dang chicken!

I got my 5th fill Thursday and now burp everytime I drink something. Surgeon always does fluoroscope after which was fine. Tried to eat tuna and egg with cheese last nite and had my first bad stuck episode. Soooo painful but passed within 15 mins, so back to liquids for now. I plan to give this a few more days to settle and will call if not better. Has anyone else experienced burping after a fill ?

Finally feeling real restriction after 5th fill. Everyone is different and so are the surgeons. Mine is conservative with the fills I think to let me get use to band. But this last fill is most restriction I've felt since surgery last September:)
-
Me too! Got my fills on Thursdays and eating regular by Saturday! I just had my 5th fill and can finally feel the real restriction. Have got stuck 3 times, as a reminder.. Small bites and chew chew chew! Working together with the band:)
-
Thank y'all. Definitely taking smaller sips have helped. After my other fills this is the 1st time I have felt this much restriction and longest I've not been able to eat regular. Just have to stop and remember what is was like after surgery:) thanks again!

lose the first week after a fill then gain
Bama53 replied to gabnlose's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have set mine up for 1200 calories. Also, for exercise on my walking and such, no matter how much I walk I set it up to show it burns 1 calorie, as fitness pal adds back the calories you burn which is not what you want. But do what you know works for you. I do have my Snacks such as almonds or yogurt and almond butter which usually takes me up to 1200. If I cut that out, I would definitely be at 1000 or below each day and would lose more, but this is little treat that I look forward to each day. -
lose the first week after a fill then gain

I gain back what I have lost after my fills, but lose it again before my next month apt usually, but this last time I gained 5 lbs and was able to lose it on my last apt this past Thursday. This is the 1st time I have not lost any weight, but I'm thankful I maintained. When I do get fills, the schedule is 2 days clear liquids, 2 day full liquids, 2 days mushies than back to normal. I usually do 1 days of each or less as long as I can tolerate it. I am to eat no more than 1/2 cup at each meal because that is the size of my pouch. No more than 3 meals a day and should take about 20 minutes to eat.1/4 cup protein, then the other 1/4 cup veggies and carbs. Eat protein first as it is a filler, then veggies, then carbs. I use a baby spoon or fork so I don't take big bites. This is what mysurgeon has instructed me to do. I've been doing a lot more walking too since Spring is here. I had my surgery in Sept 13 and have lost 60 lbs. Everybody is different and the surgeon's instruction may be different as well.I use fitness pal to track food and exercise. Hang inthere! keep us posted -
Me personally, if someone asked, I'll tell them I had lapband surgery. If they have a problem with that, it's their problem. I just know how much better I feel and can and want to do so much more now:) 60 lbs gone in 6 months and 49 to go. Feeling blessed!

Do you ever feel disappointed that you can't eat much?
Bama53 replied to Jean McMillan's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Yes. Here recently I'll eat something that taste so good I just want to keep eating and sometimes eat more than I should. I just want to get to the point where I have to eat food to fuel my body, not thinking about it as much as I do now . I'm 6 months in, have lost 60lbs, and have 49 to go. One day at a time. -

Waking up each morning and thanking God for all I have, although some may see it's not much. Fitting into size 16 jeans and XL shirts for 1st time in over10 years. Being able to tuck my knees into my chest while sitting up in bed. Walking 4 miles with no problem. Looking forward to each and every day! Loving life again!!! And the list goes on and on -
Will definitely try that! Tx.

I use to eat pb every nite until my surgeon told me about almond butter. I eat 2-3 T a nite with plain Greek yogurt Splenda cinnamon and vanilla flavoring. Yummy!

Had surgery 09/19/13, which I thought was never going to happen because of Insurance. Have lost 56 lbs and have 53 to go, so I am past my halfway point. Will be below 200 in 9 more pounds. Able to wear my original wedding band after over 10 years Been married for 35 years in June and have a very supportive husband and family. Found out I was going to be a Grandma (1st time - only child) Flew up to PA Monday nite to surprise my daughter and be with her and her wonderful hubby for their 1st ultrasound. Saw the hearbeat - Wow!! I feel sooooooo blessed! Oh what a feeling!!! Hope all is going well for everyone.

I have no problems with straws. Use one everyday. But reading the other posts maybe that is one of the reasons I have gas issues.

Sure will. Thank you.

I went for my physical today and afterwards asked my family physician about neck pain and how it will go down to the middle of my back if it was possibly because of my posture, as I sit at a desk all day and I was not sure if it could be something with my lapband. She just said hmmm, and explained the proper posture and gave me a handout on some back exercises, which I will do and try to be more mindful of my posture. My concern is could this be related to my lapband. The pain seems to settle right in the middle of my back during the day at times, and in the evening. I take Tyleonl, which seems to help some, and can be really painful and uncomfortable at times as if it's going to take my breath away and it's hard to get comfortable. I have an appt with my surgeon next week and will ask him, but just wanted to know if anyone else has experienced this.

Will do. Thanks.
