Yes, that is exactly how I feel. I had the VSG in December 2014. A month or so after I had horrible GERD and my “full sensor” was way off within about 6 months. I only lost about 45 pounds total in the last 4 years and decided to get the revision. I got the bypass a few weeks ago and immediately there was no sign of Gerd. I’m praying my weight loss is much better.

October 30th Sleeve to Bypass revision surgery. The sleeve caused me to have major Gerd. It’s all gone now. I only lost about 45 pounds with the sleeve so I am nervous that I won’t lose the weight I want to lose with the bypass and this is really my last chance.

Sleeve to Bypass Revision
MyssJones replied to ashleyy_beckerr's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
About a month after my sleeve in December 2014 I had very bad acid reflux. I only lost about 45 pounds and could not loose anymore. I ram about 2 weeks out from my Gastric Bypass surgery done 10/30 and my acid reflux is completely gone. -

I think it's unavoidable to some extent. Most people experience it from 3-6 months PostOp. The best thing is to make sure your getting adequate protein, taking your vitamins, and Getting plenty of fluids. Hope your recovery is going well! And good luck with your journey! -
I have the Vitamix Creation GC, it has a better motor than the Creations II. Mine is only 48oz.

The Vitamix was a Godsend for me during my entire weight-loss journey, Pre and Post OP. I've used it for everything, smoothies, soup, sherbet, nut butter, etc. Good luck to you on your journey and happy blending!

I have natural hair and I was sleeved 12/15/14. I began noticing hair thinning and breakage around 4 months PostOp. At that point I began more protective styling, using less heat (flat-ironing 1-2 a month), taking Natures Bounty Hair, Skin, & Nails gummies, and trimming my ends every 4-6 weeks. Honestly, around month 6/7 is when my hair got back to normal. So I would say, just give it a couple months when you begin experiencing changes in your hair- eat your daily recommended protein, take your vitamins, and drink plenty of water. -
Is my life ruined for ever due to my weight loss surgery?
MyssJones replied to foodfighter78's topic in Food and Nutrition
So many of us have made food our " friend" and being so restricted from our "friend" can be very difficult. But, this process will require you to find a new crutch. Food is not and never has been a friend, it is a tool that needs to used right in or to live a long healthy life. I think seeing a therapist will help you tremendously. Also, finding new hobbies that take your mind off of food, will help you as well. It is a slow process. Be patient with yourself and your body. -
Is my life ruined for ever due to my weight loss surgery?

Are you drinking and eating sugar free foods? This was my issue with having a lot of nausea and gas pains. Once I stopped eating sugar free my eating ability improved drastically. I also could not consume a lot of artificial protein, such as Protein shakes or some bars. It is my advice to try to eat real foods over the artificial stuff, that could help to alleviate the gas and nausea. -

I'm also pear-shaped (meaning my waist is at least 20 inches smaller than my hips). It seems I've lost weight all over, including my waist. I started out at 402 and on my surgery date (12/15/14) I was 370. I am currently at about 335, so I've lost weight kind of slow or at a more natural pace. I still have about 135 to lose but I think I'm happy with my progress so far. I definitely recommend exercising regularly in some form (including weight training) and sticking to high Protein, high veggie diet. -

Hey everyone! It's been a while since I've been on here. I've been working 14 hour days since Jan (when I was only 6 weeks post-op). So I've been a bit MIA. I hope everyone is progressing well and I wish you continued success on this life-long journey. -
Didn't loose as much as I thought I would at this point .....
MyssJones replied to Jennifer4775's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@Jennifer4775 it's true that everyone is different. But as I was told many times it depends on the persons eating habits before surgery. My average calories were 2100 per day. And I lost weight slow as well post op. But someone whose calorie intake was 6000 per day may lose a lot faster right after surgery because of the drastic changes to diet. It will all even out eventually, your body will get used to the new caloric intake and begin to respond (as long as you're eating right). -

@@Peekboo I'm doing okay otherwise. I find if I stick to proteins, and pay close attention to my fullness signal I'm fine. Dairy can be a problem if over consumed. My main issue is remembering vitamins. I'll forget my b12 for like a week and wonder why I'm feeling super tired. -

I completely understand what you are saying about the protein shakes. At two weeks post op I was on purees and I began to eat eggs, puréed ground meat mixed with soup, cheese, Greek yogurt etc. that's how I got and continue to get my protein. Occasionally I'll drink a core power light protein shake and I can tolerate those pretty well. -

@@Peekboo The stalls are the worst. I'm 6+ weeks post op and it seems like everyone is losing so much weight and I'm losing 1-2 lbs a week. My NUT reminds me that some people were consuming four and five times the daily calories they are now and the drastic changes will make them drop weight very fast in the beginning. But I have been consuming my appropriate calories and so the change is not as drastic for me. This has given me some solace. -
So I'm not even 2 weeks post op and I'm already thinking about when I can have plastic surgery. I've always have very disproportionate sized large arms and somewhat droopy boobs (sorry for the tmi) so I'm really nervous about how they will look after significant weight loss. I know this is shallow, but it's a real concern for me. I'm already saving money for plastic surgery as I know I will need it. After having my sleeve I'm in no real rush to go under the knife again, yet I know I will need to. But, how long after WLS should I wait before having plastics?

@@Idonerds The first 5 days of my pre op diet were the worse. I cheated some but I still lost 10+ lbs. good luck to you as you start your journey. -
I told only my immediate family and closest friends. I don't want the questions or judgement. It's my life I do what I want. And that doesn't mean I have to blab to everyone about it.

I got Senegalese twists 3 days before and I've had them for about 5 weeks. I'm sooooo glad I did. I was effortlessly cute!!! I was afraid of breakage from lying down so much, so I put it away. -

For the b12 is the sublingual kind from Walgreens. I forget the brand but it's 5000mcg. -
I purchased a Vitamix from QVC last year. Hands down the best blending experience I've had. But it is pricey!!! Fortunately, QVC does easy pay which helped me be able to afford this Cadillac of Blenders! Other than that I like the ninja pro.

Trying lying down on your side and sipping water. I vomited a few times in the first few weeks and they pain will subside. Just take it easy.

Already Thinking About Plastic Surgery
MyssJones replied to MyssJones's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@@melhach I'll be 4 weeks post op and doing well with Proteins and liquids. Much better than 2weeks ago. I haven't lost any weight in 1 1/2 weeks. So I'm a bit sad about that, but I hear that stalls happen as your body tries to adjust to the lower calorie intake. Apparently, the first two weeks are Water weight and then the 3rd week the body stalls as it realizes the calorie deficit is not temporary so it holds on to fat. I'm hoping my body adjusts soon and the lbs just start dropping away! -

@@Galaxy Girl I've been doing much better with protein since starting puréed foods two weeks ago. Yogurts, eggs, and various meats have been working week with my body. I get my recommended protein and some. Still won't touch protein shakes tho, lol.
