Cream of Wheat nightmare! Help!
MyssJones replied to Susanfnp13's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@@Susanfnp13 Sorry for your misery. I'm also 6 days post op and anything I eat besides popsicles, luigis, tea, and crystal lite makes me feel ill. I'm not allowed to have cream of wheat for another 8 days. Maybe it was just to soon for you. Also, make sure you are making it very, very, very soupy. It can't be thick like normal. Feel better soon. -
@@nanita0516 Good luck tomorrow

@@get2chris Yes I have the heparin shots to help prevent blood clots.

@@ShannonbKSU Are you taking a chewable Multivitamin, chewable Calcium, and liquid b12. I'm also on Clear Liquids and believe these are my saving grace, especially since I'm not taking in the 48-64oz of liquids I should be. While I don't feel ready to walk the mall, I do feel like short grocery store trips, etc.

@@HairMogul Welcome to the post op side. Glad to hear things are going well for you so far.

@@Alexandra Jackson My gas was very intense the first 3 days post op. Drinking warm water, gas x strips, and sipping constantly has helped control it some. It's much better today.

@@mroth28 I just went and got some and they've been working good. Today in general has been a much better day in the way of me getting down fluids.

@@scstxrn thank you for your advice. Today marks the first day I'm able to constantly sip without feeling intense gas pain. So that's a win today! Although I fear I'm a bit dehydrated because (tmi) urine is very dark. So I'm really going to give liquids my best shot today.

Excessive burping and esophgeal pain after hiatal hernia and sleeve
MyssJones replied to Shannon Piper's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@ShannonPiper. Im 3 days post op with my sleeve (12/15) and I'm definitely struggling with the trapped gas pain in my chest/esophagus. I'm almost scared to eat anything because 60 seconds after I swallow even a tiny bit, I get intense pain. And then it just comes and goes in wavesas it pleases. I'm over it. I'm praying this gets better. So far what helps a little is the peppermint warm tea and gas x strips. I'm worried about dehydration as well, as I only get about 10-16 oz down a day. I know that's a 1/6 of what I should be getting. And only a few grams of Protein. Smh! -
@@WRIGHTLE Yes my surgery was on Monday, December 15th. Just 3 days post op. I'm struggling with my liquids. Hopefully it'll get better soon. The trapped gas is horrific for me and nausea. I vomited (sorry for the tmi) horribly as soon as I got to my room after my procedure. I've had issues with nausea coming in waves ever since. I also vomited a bit today. I noticed that I'm very particular with smells and textures of foods right now. Hopefully it's because my stomach is a little weak right now. The only thing that's somewhat agrees with me is warm tea, crystal light, and Popsicles. Lol. I have this Isopure drink from the vitamin shoppe I'm using to try to get some protein in, but one bottle has lasted me three days, lol.

@ I'm doing horrible with my liquids. I may get down 10-16 oz a day. The gas pain makes me scared to eat or drink anything.
-
Congrats on making it to the other side, EverLearning! I'm surprised you can have puréed foods already. I can't have them until 3weeks post op. Which probably a good thing because I'm so nauseous sometimes I can't stand the smell of food. Many blessings with your recovery!
-
Thank you. The warm drinks have helped.
-
Many blessings on your surgery today!
-
Hope everything went well with your procedure.

You've done very well with your intake. I can only do a 4-5 sips per hour. I think I may have gotten a total of 16oz down today. It's definitely a struggle. I'm going to try the gas x strips tomorrow.

Yes, the gas pain has been intense for me in my chest and back. I've been walking since the afternoon of my surgery and it has gotten minimally better. It's very hard to swallow liquids in the smallest amounts. I know it will get better, but I pray it's sooner than later.

I love your quote Miss Mac. I'm finally Post Op and things have gone well. I was in ALOT of pain the first several hours but it got more bearable as the day went on. I have to the worst part is the trapped gas in my chest/back, so uncomfortable. But I only stayed one night and I am more than happy to be in my own bed.

Hey I'm currently pre op only 5 days away. I'm having mine at Mercy with Dr. Lufti. I'm very nervous and excited about it. Mostly scared about the pain and recovery as I have to start student-teaching in late January. Yikes. My surgery was originally scheduled for October 14th, but got rescheduled due to issues with my WBC. But finally I'm here. Anybody else getting sleeved soon in Chicago? Or recently sleeved?

How'd everything go? I'm at home now, only one night in the hospital.

Hello everyone. I will be having my sleeve on Monday, December 15th. With only 6 days out, I'm a complete ball of nerves, but super excited about this extra step in my journey. The thing that really frightens me is the pain after. In my adult years, I've become less and less tolerant of pain.

Only a few more hours! Good luck to you!
