My First 5-Day Pouch Test Starts Today. Anyone else tried this? What were your results?
Debbie3sons replied to enjoythetime's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
YES & it works because it's like your starting at the beginning again if you stick with it also if you hadn't have a fill yet check in to it with your Surgeon or maybe just get one it will maybe help, just a suggestion but if you stick with the 5 day pouch test it works. -
Text her back or call her & say I know you've been busy but I was thinking of you & wanted to know when can I see you again or when are you available so I can set it up or take you out but don't wait on her be a Man, Man up & make the first move by calling her from a Woman's point of view We want to know your interested otherwise She may never text or call you , YOU have to call or text her just be polite , do it , & see what happens either she'll let you know or if she keeps putting you off after the phone call or text then you will know something for sure so call her don't wait, good luck.

OK just wandering how your Halloween was this year , post those pictures if you dressed up or did you get to go to any parties , I missed out on some bands & being able to dance because I had to work but through FB & some other sites my friends posted their stuff so I could see & make me jealous because they know this is one of my favorite days of the year.
-
Make sure you call her within 2 days just to ask how her day is going or whatever did you find what you guys have in common so YOU can plan the next date or meeting & ask if she's available then so it's set up , not really any of my business just trying to help a little & I just make suggestions.

Struggling with pre op shakes - send motivation!
Debbie3sons replied to BritAbroad's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
OK you want a before & after or I like to say at present I'm not at MY goal , however MY Surgeon loves the result of our work together , I was just Subtracting yesterday because someone asked how much I lost so far it's been & still is a journey for me even if it's been 3 yrs. But , YES loss of 155 #s . both pictures are of me a true real life not photo shop or whatever but a real person -
I won't comment on the sports thing LOL but I'm just going to say @ Lisacaron & Husband you guys look cute.

Just think some people had to do it for 6 weeks , I don't know how they did it though , I had to for 2 weeks drink LOTS of water like constantly till you feel water logged , however just for me I did ask my Surgeon & I did 2 protein shakes a day for 2 weeks & a salad for dinner with VERY little ground chicken or ground turkey dressing was white distilled vinegar & lemon juice VERY little to my liking takes some getting used to , so just a suggestion ask your Surgeon also at the time I couldn't stand plain water but I got used to that also however I now & then was able with the suggestion from MY Surgeon to add lemon or lemon juice NO SUGAR though , so either YOUR SURGEON will say yes or no for YOU but for ME I know it paid off, also hopefully they gave you the Pre op diet & post op diet instructions SO many people don't get them , if not ask or look them up, good luck.

Back to Work?
Debbie3sons replied to heatherfields's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Everybody is different I was fine after a week started cleaning & doing laundry but I did have to take the pain meds for that whole week I was able to get up a little at a time after day 3 but no bending I was off of work for a month because my job is very stressful & I have to be able to lift 50 lbs so it depends on the person & what kind of job my coworker had been banded before me & she was back on day 3 but We had to help her if she needed to lift or bend I have a low tolerance to pain though . -
Even though you have lost him on this earth he will always be remembered in your heart & mind you were able to take care of him , but you also have to take care of yourself , you will always have memories of him , sorry for your loss .

5 Pounds to Go...How to Approach Maintenance
Debbie3sons replied to PrettyThick1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wouldn't know yet but I do know when I went to my Surgeon Last he said you have lost 1/2 your body weight & I don't need to see you but every 6 months now I guess that meant I was started maintenance fase heck I really don't know but when I started this whole process I weighed 320#s then pre op right at surgery 276#s now at 167 , & I still want to be at 135 when I get there I will be ecstatic yes it has taken 3 years but it sure didn't take long for me to gain weight & become 320#s so I don't mind if it's taking me this long to get it off that way it stays off I know it's up to me mostly with the help of my tool but that's fine so I am not sure if I am in maintenance but I know what I can & can not eat & how much & what I choose to put in my mouth or not, so when & if you ever find out let us know keep us updated please & thank you. -
I was also going to say exactly what Carolinagirl & Lisacaron said so all I can do is say & kind of repeat what others have said just a suggestion look up 5 day pouch test for bariatric patients or pre & post op instructions for Lap band patients or Bariatric patients & start over , yes I was a MAJOR SODA POP DRINKER , BUT FOR Wanting the taste or even the caffeine I have learned to like tea with out sugar but I do put either cucumbers or fresh berries , I really love lemon in my tea or Water & when in restaurants I always ask for lemon in either , I may not drink it right away but I always ask , gotta get away from the Soda for sure & Crystal light has good flavor & is low in sugar & calories & there are alternatives for Sweet sugary stuff just have to look , I even once in awhile have a candy bar but it's YOU TO DECIDE WHAT YOU WANT TO DO , FOR ME I NEEDED IT FOR MY HEALTH & I paid way to much money to go back to where I was I always keep that in my head a lot of people think they have failed sometimes however WE POSITIVE PEOPLE SAY IT'S NEVER TO LATE TO GET BACK ON TRACK & back to the BAND WAGON SO GOOD LUCK & try & get support as much as you can by all means Jump LOL figure of speech back on & see if the ride helps you again good luck.

6 O'clock Cravings
Debbie3sons replied to Princess Peaches's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just a suggestion when that feeling comes on drink some Water & see if that helps , sometimes WE just think WE NEED THAT LITTLE HEALTHY SNACK but then WE take a drink or of Water & it passes until WE ARE REALLY READY TO EAT, LIKE I SAID JUST A SUGGESTION & see if that helps -
Recent fill def made a difference but..
Debbie3sons replied to 2babutterfly's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
@ Iamshazza I don't know what your Surgeon, Doctor or Nurse suggested to you after a fill , My Surgeon said 48 hrs 2 days or 3 of only liquids after a fill then 2 days of mushies , also don't know if you had the hiatial hernia repair when they did your band all I know is I did & I am SO HAPPY they did because I had REALLY BAD GERD & HEARTBURN , SINCE I HAVE NOT HAD ANY PROBLEMS , it takes time also to learn to take really small bites & chew forever to get it to mush &/ swallow before the next bite , it really is a learning experience that's hard but once you figure it out it's not so bad just gotta kind of learn how to eat again instead of inhaling the food , you will notice you enjoy or don't the taste of things because WE really slow down to eat , well good luck on the experience it's so worth it. -

I noticed the same thing , about on unread or timeline so I have to scroll & find post from Banders , I guess because WE are VIP"S now & what WE know as Veterans to the banding site , but I am Glad WE have Banders#7 to stay in touch , I guess since most of us got our groove back on life & are able to do SO MUCH MORE OUR PEOPLE DON'T POST as often because WE are moving & out & about doing things , then their are some people who still Lurk LOL but don't post because of some negative things or negative people , I just wish that WE could still see the friends list so WE can remember some of the people or message them to see how their doing since most of us got banded with in a year or 2 about the same time , other than that , things seem to be good with most of US , yes WE may have ups & downs or every day issues but at least We are here & keeping grounded because some people in our everyday life don't & would never understand how WE really felt before being Banded , I'm happy to have had & still have the support I do here .
