What do you order at restaurants after weight loss surgery?
Debbie3sons replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I love Olive garden , and see it says garden so I can have as much salad my band will allow me , how ever if I get the zuppa tuscano soup I am in trouble because of the potato's , and I love the bread sticks but I can only have 2 quarter size bites then I will give it to someone else as even if I dunk it in the soup I know I will be in big trouble so I do try to stay away from the bread but I make my healthy choices and ask questions to make sure I also look at the calorie info as many places in California have to let us know about the nutrion and calorie count, so I am the one who chooses what I should or not should have and of course I like all kinds of food , but that;s how I got so unhealthy , so I choose to be healthy now , so I am a Adult and know what's good or bad for me lol, . -

Can you lube your band to help food get through
Debbie3sons replied to Horus's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I try to stay away fro sauces as it will make the food go down and sit there for a while also it is not good for the stuck episodes I just have to wait until it passes , I do know when I am stuck tho and it is not comfortable for me so I wait between 15- 30 min before I can even take a small sip of water , if the water stays down then I know I am o k otherwise I just have to wait till it hits below it does take some tie the first tie I thought I was stuck I just had productive burping , then a fewmonths later I knew what stuck was , cause I had some graphic stuff happening , don't be worried , just do what your doc tells you and you should be o k. -
Need Something Crunchy To Replace Chips?
Debbie3sons replied to waitingpatiently's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I also do popcorn, but I do the 100 calorie bag I also do the special k chips , only a few at a time I found out unfortunally I can no longer do cucumbers or pickles I don't know what happened but my band says no more , also I loved celery & peanutbutter but I can no longer do celery either , so I have to put peanutbutter on apple slices only a few tho and I have to peel the apple slices , it sounds funny but I like banana slices with peanutbutter also. -
Tried Pf Changs Today For The 1St Time And Didn't Go So Well
Debbie3sons replied to donna12's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I can do some rice sometimes , mostly th I am not able to do rice as it does get me stuck or makes e swell real bad so I try to stay away from rice , it's funny I can eat the zataran's jambalya mix rice , but I can not do any other, so I choose to ask at resturaunts or even at friends , family or even my own house l choose to do more bean or veggies instead. -

As I posted to Alex some of us don't have the support at home fro family and Friends so we come on this site and I know just for me I read good and bad as I want to be informed as much as possible and I always check with my doc , and I have got so much encouragement from people here and I do have the support from family & friends , however I did call a Doctors office ,that does a support group at a Hospital near me , but they said I had to be one of his patients , he lost out as having me for a client , cause he wanted the whole payment out front as the one who did my band put it through my ins. so I m glad that he did it and unfortunally he does not have support groups but will answer any questions no matter what , so this helps me.

18 MONTHS OUT AND GAINING WEIGHT
Debbie3sons replied to cleescruggs's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just try to remember why YOU started this journey and where YOU want to be later My suggestion is just a suggestion is just try to jump back on the band wagon and start with the pre op diet then gradually go back to normal maybe this will help also while u are being upset and worrying remember ur band may get a bit tight , so while your taking care of everbody , remember to take time and care for your self , we do tend to forget to take care of us , but we are no good to any one if we don't , so try repeating that silently to your self and I hope things get better for your life , like I said just a suggestion good luck. -
Just me here but I might get a bit graphic and it might be gross but I have had some pretty bad stuck episodes , I try not to get them but sometimes my band says ,you did not chew well enough or you took to big of a bite and I wait 15 in then I try to take a SIP of water , if it is really upset at me then I am over the sink or toilet for about 5-10 min. and everything happens the slime and I mean slime , mucus , teary eyes and runny nose happens so this is MY experience with stuck episodes and sometimes I get signals of when to stop eating but then there are ties I don't get any most of the tie I do though so I stop , like I have said this is just me talking about me , I don't know about you and others experience unless posted .

Tummy Tuck on Halloween
Debbie3sons replied to ♕ajtexas♕'s topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Glad you made it through and are making it through , as y brother just pointed out to me that my arm skin is hanging more now that I am losing weight I had wings before now I can almost fly with them lol I am a bit scared that I might have to have p,s, surgery later but if it is or the better than I will, and someone else told me I need a push up bra so I guess all the weight I am losing there noticing , I guess that's their way of saying I am losing lol that's how I understand it in my head, I am happy for you now take care & rest& recover. -
If they are friends and I mean true friends they don't care what you weigh, they should just like and be friends with you no matter what through, yes I a going to say thick, heavy or the dreaded f word (fat) or thin , skinny , or healthy lol what ever we are are real friends don't care and stick around and keep in touch or come out to play with us lol.

I wish all the stuff we want to do would be up and running I am so frustrated and impatient as it is almost a month or so since being able to do things like look at blogs , pics or other things like uploading pics also as other people are able to and I am not I know some of us like to look at others pics and profiles just to say if they can do it so can I as we try to support or suggest things on here, I REALLY hope it gets fixed and updated SOON, I know they are trying but now they are going to get flooded with things we are not able to do right now , I have talked with Alex to let him know that it will be flooded so I hope they are prepared on this site.

This was great I loved the responses you got , some of us could go other places with this , I won't though but If you rubbed me the wrong way , you would know it , but you haven't rubbed me at all so I will let you rub other people as I will only be rubbed by people that I want to rub me lol.

Take me to a restaurant?
Debbie3sons replied to Bandista's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I take a couple sips of water before the meal arrives and I mean only a couple of sips , then we talk and laugh while waiting for food and I try to choose well and ask how things are prepared to make sure also I don't eat bread only cause my band wont allow me to as it is a big expanding filler and if I eat a corner of bread without the crust I can not eat anything else or I will get stuck , therefor I try to choose wisely and when the meal comes what ever I can't eat I give to others and if the portion is to big then I can share part with others or take it hoe and eat the other half another day or let someone else have it. -

How many fills does it take before you feel like you actually have a band?
Debbie3sons replied to Katie L.'s topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
It is normal , but it is up to you also to eat just small amounts it is about portion control wich is hard , however when you start it will help if you need a fill eventually , some of us do and some don't , drink lots of water to keep full and hydrated , some docs give you a fill at time of surgery and some don't , just try to hang in , it does get better and you will gain and lose , just try the lots of water and remember portion control if you can or like I have said before why would I want to mess up as I paid enough and went through a major surgery to get healthy or I could just have stayed big and just went through life not being healthy or being able to do things I wanted to do. -
I do the Nyquil and Dayquil I also do claratin for my allergies , It didn't bother me , I will have to ask my doc just to make sure it is safe and won't erode the band as I have only had to take any of these just once since being banded.
