Complications can happen to anyone!
Debbie3sons commented on ♕ajtexas♕'s blog entry in ajtexas's Blog
I hope things get better for you , sometimes there are set backs after having major surgery , just try to remember why you wanted to be banded in the first place after losing your weight and looking and feeling more healthy , you will be able to do that again and other things you want , start back at pre op diet then go to post op diet or do the 5 day pouch test and see if that helps to get the 10 lbs off that you have gained , we won't beat you up or scold you , however , being depressed or stressed is what got us to our thinking and eating the way we did , just try to remember that you have that little tool that sometimes just needs to be cleaned and polished as you will be more polished soon enough and be able to shine even more. -
Drinking - why and why not?
Debbie3sons replied to ccjll's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have tried to drink with my meals , but I got stuck and it was not good and stuck means feeling like your choking and then the food will keep coming back up and I am going to get real right now , when that happens I also know it is going to be slime tie and I am in the bathroom for about 5-10 min with mucus sliming and a long string of it that doesn't stop for that tie then I have to brush my teeth and rinse it is not good and what is the use if I want to eat and be satisified just to have y food come up , for a while my son asked if I was becoming anorexic I told him know that I was just having stuck episodes that my band didn't care for even if it was just a few bites so I have learned in 16 months of being banded that there are some foods I can not eat and I WILL NOT drink while I eat I will wait that 30 min. so I can be healthy and not have to run to the sink or toilet to just have any episodes I may take a really small sip just to make sure I can drink after I eat after that 30 min. -
The scale is not going to move every minute of every day
Debbie3sons replied to cheryl2586's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
THANK YOU Cheryl as my weight didn't seem to move for a month but I had to buy smaller pants and a new smaller shirt for work and they fit wich I didn't even know I was a smaller size till the clerk went and got a smaller size for me , so the weight is going down and my doc made a comment the last tie I went in he said pretty soon you will be at your goal it just takes tie and not to push it and that I was doing good so I will keep on track. -

Help Please... So hungry I am sick...
Debbie3sons replied to Jenny'sjourney's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Try not to watch tv as when I first started it seemed , everything was about food I would read something or try to rest cause I just had major surgery and wanted to heal properly and not mess anything up because it cost to much money and health wise, so yes any concerns or questions I would bring up with my doc as I would also say follow up and ask your doc, because we are all different in our bodies and mind , but we are banded people. -
Just follow the post op instructions your Doc. gave you and it does get better , if you can't sleep laying down then try a recliner or chair you feel comfortable in then maybe you can sleep for a few hrs. at a time , take your pain meds it will help if they gave you any , before you know it , you will fell like you again , then as you start to feel better you will also start having more energy than you thought you had, good luck on your journey.

So I get hungry and what is the first thing I do?
Debbie3sons replied to Jim1967's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree with all that said getting into something I do tend to forget to eat , and at work it is really hard I don't even get to drink my water like I should because I am constantly standing , but I work for 4 hrs. then it is lunch time then I go back and work for my other 4 hrs. and usually I don't even get my breaks like I am suppose to , and by the time I have lunch or dinner I feel like I am famished but I know not to over do it on the eating but I get my drink on then maybe a protein shake then lot's of water, I have heard y stomach say look please put something in so I try to do something small at that time then it's back to whatever. -

Debbie3sons replied to Jim1967's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
LOL don't stop thinking just stop thinking about food and get that drink of water then if it does not satisfy then get your protein on , and by now you know how to listen to your signals of being hungry or not. -
Dr. Visit..Walking on Air!
Debbie3sons replied to B-52's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
How in the world , just to start off being a cardiac patient , meaning having a heart attack and being diabetic , did they approve you , as I would love for my Mother to be able to get her head in the game, as she likes to do dishes by hand and my Mother and I are only 16 yrs. apart, she has AFIB and is diabetic , she likes to do dishes by hand but when she is doing them she gets really winded and now she is thinking of getting a walker she is to young to be having all these complications , besides that I would love to have her around a bit longer than expected , but the way things are now it doesn't look like it , well I just thought I would ask how you got approved before being banded and to say I am happy for you that your health is so much better, -
Now go look at your before and after and be proud of your self , you have done great check you out and I am losing some of my badunk- a- dunk but lol that' ok as I had enough to share at one time lol , you look good .

I am so stupid tired of head hunger...
Debbie3sons replied to Terry Poperszky's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
The head wants us to believe were hungry but if we take to many bites our stomachs and band will say no no , but if it really does bother you at ties as it does me sometimes I just get a big glass of water and drink that cold or room temp and drink that not fast but it seems to help me , not sure if it will help you but it does help me . -

B52 I know what you mean I love the breadsticks at Olive Garden resturaunt , but since I have been banded I have only been there once and I tried a little bite of the bread I used to have them bring 3 baskets of bread for my Family now they only bring one basket , because after I ate a piece of that warm soft garlic bread I was stuck for about 5 min, then I had to wait just to be able to take a bite of my salad , so I now know bread does that for me so I opt out of bread at all and let the family have at it so I can enjoy my good food and we can enjoy each other , have a few good laughs and a good dinner I also don't do rice and always ask if they can do more veggies, or I just give what I can not eat off my plate to other family or friends and we have a good time , sometimes we do want to try but our tool helps and reminds us , that we can not have this or that and that is why we chose to be banded so I am glad it wasn't a bad stuck episode , good for you to know the signal.

Ok girls enough! we are all bandsters just trying to LEARN fro others experience if you notice B52 is a vetran and some of us want the opion of others so we can all learn weather we are just beginning or still on our journey there is no right or wrong answers and we coe on here for suppor or just to see what peole have learned about their bands and selves , so Women , please be Ladikes and Gentelmen , and be happy with your new life and stay positive , I a pretty sure we have heard a lot of negativity in our lives being unhealthy and obese so why would we want to spread negativity to each other , we can get that with out coming on here , please stay and say positive as we all at some point have to learn what is best for us not what is best for you some same things might work for one and maybe not for another but we all have to find what works or doesn't for us personally.

The Calendar Says It All...
Debbie3sons replied to gowalking's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I was just thinking something similar to this , thankyou for posting. -
completely mental
Debbie3sons replied to terrydumont46's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If you have followed some of the bandsters that have lost a good amount of weight , and what does your doc say to do after you get a fill mine says 2 days of liquids then 1-2 days of mushies then I can go back to solids , so find out what your doc reccomends to do after you get a fill? as I know what mine tells me . -
Remember people pbing means productive burping or belching , so I have done it like after I eat also that is one of my signals to say don't take that list bite or it will not be good , and sliming and being stuck is a two different things also , and when that happens it hurts sometimes and it is really gross , if you ever slime then you will know what I mean just try not to and for beng stuck , well for me it felt like if I had over ate and that it all wanted to come back up or just not being able to eat my next bite cause I either felt like I had a sore throat or my left shoulder would start hurting , it took me a long while but I did get it eventually as I listened to my triggers and my body and band , cause that all helped me to know when to say no more.

Newly Banded...What to eat and how much?
Debbie3sons replied to KSteele's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If your doctor gave you the papers then read them carefully and you will find out what you are suppose to do post op diet , also if your not sure ask your doctor and make sure you take small sips , it is hard at first and yes you will feel like your not getting enough to drink or eat , but remember , why you did this , as for my self I took a medicine cup fro y Nyquil bottle and used that to drink out of every 15 min. like my doctor told me , it really didn't matter unless I was awake cause I took the meds the first few days just so I could be comfortable so when I was awake , I used thenn nyquil cup to drink my water, and I kept a big jug of water by my bed so I could reach it and pour it in my little cup. -
When do u start to feel normal again
Debbie3sons replied to JennieT311's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Tomuchfun is exactly right, and it took e about 3- 4 days to actually be able to get up and feel I could walk normal and feel good but it took about 2 weeks before I felt like y self again and yes the pain meds were very helpful , till I didn't have pain getting up , then I stopped the meds, form me it was 2 weeks. -
one week out-question
Debbie3sons replied to danielebrooke's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It is normal to be bruised , however remember you are still recovering and if it was e I wouldn't be walking a mile 5 days out , and if you are not sure call your surgeon and ask if they him/her can take a lok to make sure everything is ok , also if it were e I would take it easy and just walk for a bit not a mile and with me I think it hurt more three days after , ya I started to feel normal again but I did not over excert myself and it did hurt till about a week later , so please have your surgeon look at you just to be safe. -
just jump, run back on the band wagon , Protein , protein and we are only human and do make mistakes and give in sometimes, but just remember it iswhat you choose , as it seemed like forever to lose 3 lbs to me , then I went back to 3 Protein shakes a day and a couple of my Atkins candy Snacks in between then a small portion control dinner and next thing I know I had los 6 lbs it took 2 weeks but I did it , so choose what you want to do .
