I haven't had heart burn , since surgery because they also did a hiatal hernia repair when I got banded , however if I feel I need to go on liquids for a couple of days just to get things back on track I do , but if your having heartburn , I would call my Doctor , just to make sure everything was or is ok , that is just me .

Changing my mind......
Debbie3sons replied to ren0318's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
The decision has to be to & what you decide , but whatever you decide , just be ready & yes if it were me then I would call , just to throw this out there , have you also thought about if you choose to get banded ask about banding with plicaton , I have heard about it & wishes I would have known when I got banded , I love being banded so far I have lost a 110 lbs in 2 years , but if you are trying to make a decision it really is up to you , but call to make sure so You can have your best journey for you. -
No problem did any of it help , just make sure you are chew , chew chewing lol.

Ok then , maybe some celery with just a smear of peanut butter or popcorn , no butter if you can handle those things , or you can try a protein bar , I sometimes do the Atkins candy , most of them are ok , but again every thing in moderation , I hope this may have helped , also I have found I love melons & fruit to snack on with a few almonds , the fruit , melons & nuts are natural so for me Iike that.

Had surgery today and had a question
Debbie3sons replied to bandedmom14's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was a stomach sleeper apparently , because I was told that , so you can imagine when they told me not to sleep on my stomach till I was comfortable , so I used a LOT of pillows even on my adjustable bed , now I start on my left side , & Then when I am asleep I guess I either get comfortable on my stomach or right side , at least that's what I am told I know I start out on my left. -
Sugar free pudding or a few almonds , you didn't give much information , like how far a long on your journey or if you were pre op or post op & what type of surgery you had , more people will help .

Debbie3sons replied to bandedmom14's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
There people are right & just helping , remember people also to add about the last meal syndrome , to the person who posted this in the beginning of this post , yes there is something about last meal syndrome , I had it before surgery I also had 2 weeks of protein shakes & a salad with Turkey or chicken for the protein for my dinners with lemon juice& vinagar to my liking , so just a suggestion to look for Last meal syndrome on this site , , just try & not to do it 2 weeks before wls & hopefully you will be fine . -

Sleep disorder other concerns
Debbie3sons replied to tomeof's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
JACK THAT WAS TO FUNNY NOSE , HOSE PATROL, I knew I had sleep apnea because I would wake my own self up snoring, & I was diagnosed after one of my son's woke me up & said I was scaring him , after being banded , one day I was exhausted , and I felt like I had been snoring , so I asked some one sitting in the room & they told me that I didn't so I guess losing the weight helped , because I haven't used my cpap machine since 2 months after , now my Mother is using it . -
Wow just think how much out lives have changed all of us , we are able to pay it forward to others that are or thinking about wls and we are getting out & moving, , dating & have more energy than we had in the past before our Journeys , meeting people , I am so thankful , I just went to my Doctor. on Wednesday thinking I would need a fill but we both said my band was tight enough , I asked if cortisone injections could make you gain weight & he confirmed it , so it is still up to me to get these last lbs off , I had to have the injections because I have deteriorating, degenarating discs in my back at least I am health, what a number it does on your health , when you are heavy & carry all the weight we have or had , well Everyone keep up on your journey & I am thrilled my Doc. asked for pics he saw the pic of me zip lining & wanted a before & after pic to show some of his patients , how cool , that I may be able to help someone else as many of you have helped me & others.

Yes 260 calories , 40 grams of protein & 25 grams of carb it comes in a pre made 20 oz bottle , they also have little 16 oz plastic bottles that are easy to pack in a purse or lunch bag.

I bought some muscle milk powder I don't think it tastes the same as the ready made, but if you add a little of the pb 2 to it with some Ice & blend it , it is not to bad there is a little after taste , but I preferred the ready made , I have found I like Isopure Alpine punch it has 260 calories & 40 grams of protein , the powder is not bad either it's like if you made cool aid , these are just some suggestions .

You try on the favorite clothes that you used to wear before owls & they really hang off , or trying a size on at the store that you think will fit you & you have to get a smaller size. -

@@JustWatchMe Look at the bottom, or side of your phone there will be a that maybe looks like if you hit it , it will delete the post or conversation , but hit it & see if it has the reply options , I only have a android phone , so that's how I do it it is on the bottom of my screen I don't know what kind of phone you have , but I had to ask people to help me with mine , I hope you are able to find out. -
Oh by the way I forgot to say that I also chose.the band because it is reversible , so if anything happend it could be repaired or taken out & I didn't want my insides to be rerouted , I also have family members who have had good & bad results from different weight loss surgeries, and I love not being a 100 lbs over weight by the time I hit MY goal it will be a 150lbs I have lost when ever that may be but at least I can move now.

It depends on your ins if you have any or if you're self pay also on the Doctor , sounds like you are doing good so far , just keep doing what you're doing in the mean time so the Doctor knows that you will follow the rules and instructions , also read & write down any questions you want to ask the Doctor or if you go to any meetings , so you will be prepared on what wls you choose for your self , good luck for me it only took about a month for approval, some people it takes longer.

Most of us that are banded or are banded with pliclation is because we know it is reversible if at any time if we wanted & we didn't want our insides, rerouted or part of our stomachs removed , however it is what you decide what is best for you ,do your research & ask as many questions at the consult if the person acts like their getting annoyed , keep asking so you can make sure you know that the Surgeon will be there for you at any time to answer any concerns you have , but it is Your decision on what you choose , I am not at goal but I will be & my Doc. says that's because I am doing the band right & when I get to goal & maintenance I won't gain the 150 lbs I have lost , I only have 45 more to my goal , best thing I ever chose to do for my self.

Debbie3sons replied to chasingadream's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
It's about time you show off & be PROUD of what you have accomplished on your journey so far ,you look good , again we can enjoy our being with our kids & not be embarrassed ourselves , look at you getting out & living life , keep it up@ go walking. -
Sounds like bread or maybe starchy foods are a No No for you for right now , also when your talking about the runny ,slimming mucas nose stuff , sounds like a stuck episode , this is just a opinion ,it happens to me sometimes if I think I am not satisfied & want to be full ,yes there is a difference it takes a lot of time to get used to , again I am just talking about my experience , NOT anyone else's.

Normal Post-op Pain?
Debbie3sons replied to jlj1110's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You people have to remember that there are musles that we didn't even know we had and some people feel it in different places & when you had surgery they pumped you up with air & then let it go , some of us also had saline primed into our bands , I wish all of you the best results , before you know it you will be moving & losing . -
Normal Post-op Pain?
Debbie3sons replied to jlj1110's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You have to remember what we have said you just put your body and musles through a lot (Surgery) it will be hard to breath at times and for the first 2-3 days try to relax follow what your doctor reccomemnded , also don't look here for answers if you are not sure about pain and other things , always ask your doctor and don't be embarrassed about to ask anything that's what they went to school for , take your meds , get your little medicine cup to take your sips , and I hope you got a hot water bottle or a heating pad and a lot of pillows , so you can sit on your recliner, couch or bed , I know you feel as if you just got ran over by a semi , it will get better , you will be back up and walking in a few days , welcome to bandland, try not to watch TV because you will only be seeing food commercials like the first 3 day , so find something to read or do besides, that, do you know what size band your Surgeon put in , you can find that out later right now relax and make someone help you . -
@ SillyAuntDi I had to take a second look and put my glasses on the screen to see which one was you , wow you look wonderful .
