FRIDAY is "B" Day!!! YAY!!!
nightingale2u replied to NancySmiles's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
It's good to hear that you are okay and getting better as each day passes. Congratulations and welcome to Bandland! Darcy -
Lisa... no more B-Days... hmmmm... well I think that you look pretty darn youthful and should keep having them if for no other reason than to hear... Damn girl... you don't look a day over 30! So... here we are... checking in for another week... and I am pretty darn glad to have a place to do that! I have really been struggling with desire to have faster weight-loss and head hunger that overshadows that desire. I do well during the week... the weekends seem to be a whole different story. I think the only reason I am losing weight at all is due to sticking with the exercise. I have a fill scheduled in less than 2 weeks and don't really know that I need one... I feel like I am restricted but there are time that I feel I can eat too much. I guess if I am honest wth myself... it is not that I'm eating big quantities... it's more snacking on carbs than I should. I lost 1.5 lbs this week which brings my monthly total to 5 lbs. That's not up to snuff with the hopes that I had but hopefully I will learn to work as hard on cutting carbs as I have with the exercise from now on. If not... at least the numbers are going down instead of up! Have a good week everybody! Darcy

Michelle... Awesome girlie! What a downward trend you have going on! WTG! Marie... WOW... I guess you broke that plateau in a BIG way! 4 pounds... that's phenominal! You are blowing my socks off for sure! Betty... TOMORROW IS TUESDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so excited for you!!!!!! Lisa... I read your post on the class you took and I wouldn't be surprised if you find yourself tinkling by the gallon over the next couple of days! Your body probably thought you were lost in the desert and hung on to every drop of water it could!

Hiya Folks, Weight today 217... that 1.5 lbs lost this week.... a total of 5 lbs for the month which is slower than I would like to see... but at least it's going down. I sometimes wonder if the extra exercise is worth it if muscle weighs more than fat! ANyhoo... am going to measure today sometime to see if that has changed. I guess if I want to see it go off faster I am going to have to make a few changes. So... I did get to my goal of 40 lbs lost... and my goal for next weeks weigh-in is to hit 215 or lower. Hope everybody had a good week! Darcy

Well... I will wish everyone a happy weekend! Everybody that is going to Vegas must be getting pretty excited with the date coming up so soon! I wish I could go! Anyhoo... perhaps next year. My hubby and I have walked the 2.5 mile outing every night this week. We are going to a Brewer's game in Milwaukee tonight... so this will be our night off. We'll be heading up for an overnighter at the shack again this weekend... soon the weather will be too cold so we are getting our time in while we can! I know I won't sleep while we're there... heck... I hardly sleep here at home... so I should be pretty tired out by the time we get home. I've been a good girl about not getting on the scale even though I had intended to do so... guess the once weekly thing has really become a habit. I'm making little goals for myself as the big one seems bigger than life.... it's easier if I set a new small goal after every weigh-in. Anyhoo... take care everyone... ((((hugs))))

Well Sweets... if you click on "lapband forums" scroll down to the bottom of the page... and the B-days for that day are listed by user name. Sometimes I forget to look though... so if I miss anybody's special day I hope I'll be forgiven.

Anne... I am so glad you were able to talk them into a little bit more than 1cc. It will be so wonderful for you to have some restriction after all of this time! My fill didn't really kick in until 3 weeks after so maybe you will have more restriction down the line. I know what you are saying in regards to the binging... I still have the urge but just can't act on it which is a VERY good thing! Darcy
-
Hiya Kimberly! Glad to hear that you are all drained and feeling better! Good luck with your weigh-in with Dr. Kemmerling! Darcy
-
Hey Teresa... that's a great weight-loss!!!! WTG! Hi Betty... Well... the fill is going so well that I am starting to wonder if I will really need the one that is scheduled mid October. THe restriction really kicked in over the last two weeks and I am struggling to listen to the less obvious signs that I am full... I'm learning. THe pain that I get with the one little bite too many is enough to teach this old dog new tricks! I eat VEWY VEWY carefully. Thanks for asking! Now... go get those B-Day spankings! Darcy

FRIDAY is "B" Day!!! YAY!!!
nightingale2u replied to NancySmiles's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Goodluck with everything Nancy! Please come back and let us know how you are doing after surgery! Wishes to you for a speedy recovery. Darcy -
My surgeon does fills "blind" as well... but they told me the minimum they usually do on a first fill is 1.5cc... unless a person is still feeling some restriction. I hope you are able to talk them into a little more than 1cc... you've been pretty darn patient so far. Darcy

Awesome loss! You'll be in Onederland before you know it! Darcy

Hi Angel and Welcome, There really isn't anything I can't eat... I am careful with bread as I sometimes have difficulty with really soft types... but other than that... I can eat everything I used to eat but in smaller amounts. I find that I do not crave carbs as much as I crave Protein now. I try and avoid high calorie things that are liquid as the band does not restrict Fluid intake... so... I avoid ice-cream... milkshakes... cream Soups... alcohol etc. The biggest changes are that I chew everything REALLY well and I don't drink fluids with or for one hour after eating. I also do not drink anything with carbonation or take ibuprofen. Hope that helps. Darcy

Ummmm... I'm with you Betty... I will clean my house after you get banded too. I don't know if I can stick with the 1x weigh-in this week... I think I'm too close to the 40 lb loss mark and HAVE to see it happen! I went to Burger King today... first fast food since being banded... and I was CRAVING a whopper. So... decided to get one and be done with it... took the top of the bun off... and ate half of the rest and then... an near miss in the PB department... voila... no more whopper craving!

Oh Chantal... I have so been where you are right now and my heart goes out to you. I was terrified when I made the decision to leave my husband. My daughter was 3 at the time and my husband was also a compulsive liar even through marriage counseling. Yes it is frightening... yes it is lonely at times... yes it is hard to make a decision and stick with it and ignore emotional tugs on your heart... BUT... in time... the fear is replaced with courage... the lonliness is replaced with an ability to be content with oneself and the opportunity to really know that person... and the emotional tugs are replaced with the ability to see another without rose colored glasses and let go. I know have a reasonable relationship with my EX... and I have worked hard to make sure she is not a witness to any hard feelings between us. Sending you ((((hugs)))) and hoping you know that you can share your feelings here... regardless of what your final decision is. Darcy

THanks Mom! You know I was totally freaking out and I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO glad there is an emergency plan in place just in case! You have a very good reason for having a little stress eating... once you are home you'll get back on track. (((((hugs))))) Lisa... I wish we lived closer... we both seem to have a sleep disorder and it would be nice to have someone to commiserate with instead of hitting the fridge. I can only tell ya that I don't keep ANY chips... candy... icecream and other easy late night snacks in the house anymore... just too hard to resist. Donali... Couple of ideas for my stripper name... Juana Ryder or perhaps Lotta Rydleff ???? WHatcha think? Ima Hoser ???? Hehehehehe. Darcy

Anne... hang in there until that first fill... I would think your doc might be willing to start out with a bigger fill considering how long it took them to figure out that there was something amiss. My first fill was 2cc's and I would think he should be willing to at least put in 1.5cc's. I'm not sure what Inamed guidelines are for the first fill but perhaps you could contact them and find out and go to your appointment armed with that info. Marie... you are are going to be breaking that ole 190 mark with your new fill... I just know it! Debra... holy moses girl! WTG! What an awesome loss! I don't know if I'll be able to stay off of the scale this week... I'm anxious to hit the 40 lb loss mark... chomping at the bit! Have a great week everyone... Darcy

Penni, Sending prayers and lots of (((hugs))). My heart goes out to you and to your Mom and Step-Dad. I am very close to my Mom and can only imagine how I would feel if she were to become very ill. It's probably one of my worst fears. You are obviously a very kind, caring and loving daughter... wishing you a safe return home. Darcy
