All I can say is that you guys are awesome for being able to stick with a liquid diet for a MONTH... YIKES! Before being banded I couldn't stick with any diet for more than a day! Man... I am really lucky my surgeon did not require a special diet pre-surgery!
-
Wow... I think you are not a work in progress... you are a success in every sense of the word!
-
THat must be a boatload of worry off of your mind! It sounds like you are a very supportive parent and I hope your baby girl has a speedy recovery! Tell her wa said "Welcome to Bandland"!!!!!
-
Lianna... AWWWWW....THat is totally fantaboulous! I remember Onederland... it was a great place to visit and I bet it would be even better to live there! WTG!!!!
-
Miss Karen... I sure was hoping this would end differently for you. ((((Hugs)))) I'm sure it will be a relief to be free of the pain that the band is causing but just the same... it must be hard to give it up. Please know that I have you in my thoughts. ((((More Hugs))))

Holy Man Amy! Yikers! I am really glad that I am not a part of your family right now!!!! Bless your heart... you must be so exhausted! I think you are going to deserve a trip ALONE to the spa for a day after all of this or maybe a hotel room ALONE for 48 hours just to sleep! I am so glad to hear that Emily is home and hope everyone gets better soon!
-
P'nut... My weight this week is 221.5 Finally... it is moving in the right direction!!!!
-
Awww Vines... I sure know that feeling and I'm so sorry you are going through this! (((Hugs))) In regards to your test results... I'd love to get ahold of your doc's office number and give them a little bit of information. You have every right to request your test results... they are yours... and you are the customer. Customer care from my first surgeon's staff was terrible and although I took the treatment quietly for some time... eventually I became very vocal about my concerns. If they have your test results and they have been reviewed by the doctor... you have a right to the results when you request them. I worked in a doctor's office setting for quite a few years... never... ever would I have even considered telling a patient NOT to call the office... YIKES! So sorry you feeling down Vines and sending "Feel Better Soon" vibes your way...

Has anyone experienced a problem with "crashing" after eating in the morning or at any other times during the day? I find that since my fill on Monday... When I eat solid food in the AM it is followed by what I imagine is a bloodsugar drop with shaking...sweating... weakness and a generalized "I feel like Jello" sensation. THis usually happens within 10-15 minutes after eating. The first two times it happened I had FF/SF yogurt mixed with a 1/2 cup of cottage cheese and this morning it happend in a milder form after having 3 bites of scrammbled eggs and cheese. I'm not really terribly concerned... I just find it interesting and a bit odd and I'm wondering if anybody else has experienced this?

Well... I would actually trade the coffee maker for a potty and a shower... but since that isn't in the budget I guess a coffee maker will do!
-
Holy Shmoley... you really must of been having a time of it with all of that going on! It's wonderful that your band hasn't been harmed and I hope the medication helps you heal quickly and gives you relief from any symptoms you may have going on!
-
That's great Dana... Congrats! Hang in there with the liquid diet!
-
I'm still on hold for that... hehehehe...just kidding My port site bothered me a lot after surgery... it was probably a month before I could tolerate contracting the ole abs. Every person heals differently and I would imagine that you can resume sexual activity as soo as you feel up to the task.
-
Wow Sharon... I didn't realize they had become so affordable! I may just have to check into getting one! Thanks for the infromation! Paula... I didn't have the problem all weekend... but then again... I held off until later in the morning for Breakfast most of the time as we were up at the cabin. It's funny... we don't have running Water or sewer at our cabin... BUT... there is electricity and a very nice coffee maker...lol.
-
Paula... I have worried so much about my daughter becoming overweight and fighting the same battle I have always had to fight. My theory with her was to make food a no-brainer... in other words... I don't want her to have to really think or worry over food like I do. I never made her clear her plate as a little one... and I never made dessert a constant part of the dinner routine. I didn't keep empty foods around for snacking on. So far do good... she doesn't seem to need to overeat... just eats until she is full and stops. She went through a little chubby period but it was short-lived and now she is tall and trim. I have also tried to encourage her to be active but I don't push it.

Amy... I am so sorry that your baby girl is so sick... (((Hugs))) I pray she will rally soon and come home where she belongs! (((More Hugs)))

Paula... silly goose... of course not!

Long Winter of Discouragement!
nightingale2u replied to Kimber-lilly's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hey Kimberly... I know you are a busy woman... but if you ever just want to meet for a cup of coffee or a Protein shake just let me know... Death at such a young age is so hard to come to terms with... Dealing with the death of someone we love at any age is just hard... period. I think the only thing that eases grief is time. I'm glad you are going in to see Doc K... let us know how it goes. -
Long Winter of Discouragement!

Kimberly... I am so sorry about your loss. ((((HUGS)))) I think it's time to go see Doc Kemmerling... the band is meant to be filled and having the right amount of restriction is so important in relation to having success. You know that girl... also... when you lose weight... you also lose fat that is around your stomach which may also increase your need for a fill. Stop being so hard on yourself... go get a fill... that's an order. -
Alex... i am really glad that there was no erosion and I hope that you will be able to fillerup after giving everything a couple months rest!
-
I think glucose monitors are fairly expensive when not covered by insurance bit I will definitely tell my M.D. when I go in for the dreaded annual this year. Maybe be can do a glucose tolerance test as opposed to the simple fasting blood sugar test.
-
Pat... I luv ya sweet thang! Better watch out ... I may have to mix you up in my coffee to avoid that crashing sensation! Oh MANNNNNNNNNN...Did I just say COFFEE????? Paula... I think you have something in your eye. Susan... THis is totally off subject... but since you let the cat out of the bag an told my secret about being a weirdo... I hafta ask... How was the Dreadmill today... hehehehehe. Move it girl... I did 30 minutes and don't even bother runnin cause I know where you post... :heh: Dear Lord... I gave up cigarettes and bread... please have mercy and let me keep my coffee!!!!! Amen.

30 months and my band has slipped!
nightingale2u replied to kellymoos's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
OMIGOSH Kelly... How the heck did I miss this thread! I am so sorry for what you went through! I'm glad you are feeling better and I have got to wonder... how the heck is it that so many bariatric surgeons are such idiots when it comes to the things they say???? My surgeon said something similar when I asked about band removal if the problems continued (My old surgeon). He said..."Well...we can remove it but you know you will probably gain all of your weight back again". What do they hope to accomplish with such comments???? Anyhoo... I am so sorry Kelly and I say we all march in and give the ole doc a kick in the hinder! -
WTG Susan.... you saved the rest of LBT from the torturous singing of "There's a Tear in My Beer"... hehehehehe Man... that hubby of mine is going to have to put something to play CD's in the basement becasue a person simply can't get fired up over the twang twang stuff. I love country as much as the next person...lol... however... there is a time and a place for everything. Well... off to check the din din in the crock... Vines... I am so sorry you have cellulitis... I know how painful it looks... I can only imagine how painful it is! I hope you get better soon!
