Afternoon All... Well... did the ole workout this morning and then headed up to the cabin so that I could drop off my sister's B-Day present. Her B-Day is tomorrow and I know they are going up so I wanted the honking blue spruce to be waiting at her door. I decorated it with ribbons and crepe paper. THey had a tiny little CHarlie Brown tree that they planted last year in front... it died so hopefully she will like this one. Only one problem... the darned thing was so heavy and they had locked lines across their drive so I had to drag it quite a ways and then carry it up the steps... Back is on the verge of going out now... darn... guess I'm not as young as I used to be! Anyhoo... that took all of my morning! Betty... Tis good that you check in even if life is sucking up all of our time with you. Hope you are able to stop and smell the roses one day soon! Mary... Glad you got a good nights sleep and a refund! Eileen... So glad to hear the the Bun Buns will be okay... they are so sweet until they eat my garden plants...lol. Sherry... Good to see you! TTFN

Hi Eunice... Does your doctor and dietician know your daily caloric intake??? Seriously... 300 calories is a crazy low number and eventually your body will go into starvation mode. IMHO... that is not enough of a caloric intake to sustain the average rabbit and will lead to health problems. Sorry... I am really happy for you and your weight-loss but I am very concerned that you have such a low caloric intake.

Ive got a surgery date but.........

Sara... I think it's natural to have second thoughts in regards to having surgery. My second thoughts were only on the actual day of surgery in the hospital and it was not about the band... it was just about surgery in general. Wishing you peace... and confidence in your decision to be banded.

    What have I done?! LOL

He MeAnne... Don't feel guilty... this is a wonderful thing you are doing for your health and those that love you must want you to be healthy! I am just now finding out that exercising outside of the home is the best way to stay on track. It's too easy to put it off at home. I think you are doing very well with your weight-loss but I do think your caloric intake is too low... sometimes the body will put the brakes on the weight-loss if you are not eating enough. What did your doctor instruct as far at a target for daily caloric intake? Take care of yourself and enjoy your spinning class!

Hiya Becky Lee ((((HUGS)))) (To lazy to look for the emoticon) Hey.. I didn't know your husband is a member of Loverboy?!?!?! A weekend snuggled into the couch knitting... girl... you are going to have the skinniest hands in town! Glad you and the hubby liking the gym... you didn't forget to measure...right??? (Not your hubby.... hehehehe) I think 5 days is perfecto! I plan on doing 5 days at the circuit and then other activities on the weekend since we are usually up at the shack. Anyhoo... she weighed and measured me today... *cringe* I knew the weight... but holy crap... I'm not a woman... I am stick of butter... 45% body fat ... Guess I had better be careful out in the sun! Mary... I miss Safeway... Here... there is nothing worse than an obese woman having to grocery shop at a store called Piggly Wiggly! Glad coming here to vent helps to get you through... carrying all of that stress is really a drag! Off to bed... since I started all of this exercise my sleeping problems are hugely worse... go figure... I thought I would be worn out and sleep like a baby! :notagree

Hey All, Donna ... have a good time this weekend and your hubby should know that back surgery has come a long way in 6 years. My Mom fought and and fought against having back surgery... she was completely incapacitated by the time she finally made the jump... she feels wonderful and her only regret has been not doing it sooner! She did have residual nerve damage from waiting too long... but better late than never! Patty... Man... reading about all the hoops you are having to jump through brings back so many memories... it's crazy but it sounds like you are almost to the finish line! Eileen... We have Waterfest here at the park every THursday night with new bands each week... I don't know who is playing tomorrow but Loverboy is sometime in June and I'll be there... Lord help me... I'll probably know the words to every song. AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW... Baby bunnies are the cutest lil thangs ever! I hope you find somebody to help! Ticks... speaking of the nasty lil blood suckers... I had to take my pup (Rudy) in yesterday... he was limping and moping and wouldn't eat or drink... 121 bucks later we left with antibiotics and a Lymes Disease DX. Now I REALLY hate ticks! Hi Mary... Hope you get to sneak away from the boss soon! Kat... Hope you and your hubby get to take that beautiful run on the bikes... sounds wonderful! Well... I took the plunge and joined the Circuit Connection... I love it... look forward to it in the morning... it's freaking me out...lol. Me...love exercise... how can that be possible????? Catch ya later...

Hi all... Well... I've decided... the circuit connection... I really like their machines and felt more at ease there today. I weighed in today and I'm down 2 lbs. I can only imagine what that number would have been if I had behaved food wise. It's a start back in the right direction. Kat... That would be really wonderful if this ended up being a repair as opposed to a replacement... what great news! Hang in there and come here to vent when you need... I'm sure your hubby will be an even bigger pain in the buttocks later on . It sucks to have your health be out of your own control and it is pretty natural to burden your partner with some of that frustration. (((Hugs))) Mary... Never again without a lawyer... that what I said at the last round. My Ex just moved into the same town as we live in... last week. I fully expect to get a summons anyday in regards to a request for a change to 50/50 custody. My stomach flips just thinking about it. Eileen... Yeah... I need to choose the best fit... and after today I think it will be the knock off place. I'm just happy that I made it though 8 full days with some type of exercise on all eight. Ohhhh... Waterfest is starting this Thursday ... and every Thursday through the summer with some great bands including your Ball/Chin Granny panties/Head dudes. Loverboy... THe BoDeans... lots of great groups! Soooo.... what does everyone have planned for the holiday weekend????

Can I chew ice to get water intake

I hope I didn't give the impression that I thought you shouldn't eat ice... my only concern is that this desire to chew ice may be related to a health problem and so you may want to check this possibility out. Even after my mom was treated for her anemia... she still enjoyed chewing ice...she just didn't crave it as before.

Congratulations and welcome to Bandland! Wow on the weight-loss... that must really be helping you get through the food stages! It's wonderful that you have supportive family and friends but sometimes it's nice to have the support and info from those that have been there... done that... that's where LBT comes in! Welcome!

Can I chew ice to get water intake

Hi Sara... Pagophagia is specifically a pica for ice (appetite for substances not fit for food) and can be a specific indicator for Iron defiency anemia. I remember my Mom chewing a whole tray of ice every evening when she took her bath and she was anemic. You may want to get your iron levels checked... just a thought... it might save your teeth.

Welcome Back Diane!!!! Vacations are about excess and it sounds like you did everything a person ought to do while away. WTG getting right back to Curves! Mary... I'm glad things went well today and I sure understand the feelings you are going through. My ex dragged me into court everytime he thought something was unfair (Such as my setting a specific time for him to pick up our daughter instead of showing up whenever.) He always had a lawyer... I never did and I can remember being a shaking nervous wreck everytime. (((Hugs))) Betty... Miss you girl... that job must be keeping you a movin and a shakin! Patty... Sounds like you all had a wonderful time amd the TIVO ta boot! Glad you had such a wonderful weekend! Well... I went to the new circuit training place today and it was very nice. I do like that it is a circuit with steppers between machines...and the machines are weighted so you can change the resistance and really build strength. The downside was that she put me at a very low resistance so two times around the curcuit didn't leave me feeling worked out! It has a beautiful atmosphere but a slightly uppity feel. Anyhoo... I left there and went to Curves for the last of my free trial period... then I felt worked out! I'll finish out the free trial at the new place and then decide. TTFN

    Hi from Wisconsin

Hey Julesings! I'm from Oshkosh WI... Welcome to LBT! Wow... you must be sooooooooooo excited!!!! You'll find a lot of support waiting for you at LBT when you get back! THe things that I really used at the hospital... My own pillow... slippers... chapstick... very loose clothing especially anything around the waist... bottled Water for the trip home... have liquid tylenol on hand at home... popsicles (sugar free)... tea... Gas-X... crystal light... sf Jello... heating pad if you have shoulder pain from post-op gas. that's all I can think of at the moment... Good luck and pop in to let us know how you are feeling when you get a chance. THe best thing that you can do during those first few days is walk... walk... walk...walk and avoid drinking with a straw as they are thought to create extra air in the stomach and more discomfort.

Morning All... Mary... THanks so much... I wish I could see that picture through your eyes... all I can see is what I looked like 40 some pounds ago in comparison. Still... it was a good thing... made me feel even more determined. I'm glad you are feeling a bit better and watch out for the new exercise bike... they seem all sweet and innocent but will plot to become a coat rack if given half the chance! I would take that crap filled diaper and pack into a nice box and mail it 1st class back to the dink.:heh: Well... Plan on heading to the "other" circuit training place today... I am going to end up with a delima of which one to choose. I like Curves because it is closer and with the joining fee waived it is only two dollars more a month that the one I am doing the trial with this week... we'll see! Have a good week everyone!
