Hey Cindy... Sounds like a great personal challenge you just start whenever your little ole heart desires... that's what make it personal! Oh... and when my daughter was away at camp... I sent her bunk mail almost everyday per the computer and told her how pretty her room was starting to look with the new ballerina theme.... hehehehe... a very wicked thing to say to a Tom Girl. *evil grin* Caloric intake today... 1400 calories... and I think I am pushing it a little on the heavy side. I am so hungry for food I can chew. I tried some watered down refried Beans... no go.
-
Yello Ladies... Well... I have to say that I would just about kill to chew ANYTHING about now! THis should be a nice little jumpstart for getting the weight-loss back on track! Eileen... I gain to take the same route/personal challenge as you with exception of the caloric intake amount. I think the ole TOM is a great excuse and there should be some benifit besides the pain of child birth for enduring such a messy/icky thang! I just don't do well when I say no to a certain food. BTW... I had a Venti Peppermint Mocha this morning for Breakfast. Isn't that an appropriate liquid food???? I met with my sister and that is kind of a tradition for us. Anne...WTG on the chocolate/ice cream avoidance and heck... I had cheese puffs the other day so you are certainly a gourmet in comparison to me! Sherry... Don;t beat yourself up... just make that appointment for a fill and you'll fee a renewed energy for the whole business of being banded. Miss Cindy... I'm still as tight as a old door in Arkansas in the middle of summer! I did just eat an all creme yogurt and that seems to actually be slipping through little by little. I'm also not hurting today like I was all day yesterday. Sounds like your fill is working just perfectly and I know you are going to get your Christmas wish! Did the workout thang this morning. Hope everyone is have a better day today!

Hey Cindy... I would have said psssst... but I really had no clue that July was done and over...lol. Okay...Total caloric intake was 1000 cals but that is only because even fluids are going down so slow. I ummm... wellll... I stopped after class and bought a Hershey bar. *hangs head in shame* And by golly if that delicious piece of heaven didn't slide down sliker than... well... you know. Anne... Have you ever seen them suck out fat... EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!! Thanks for hauling our unsucked butts into August. Dianne... I like the 100 calorie baggies too... my fav is the nutter butters... Yum! I didn't work out today... my stomach hurt... felt nauseated and given time I'm sure I can come up with some more excuses...lol. (((Hugs)))
-
Well... I've been counting today... so I guess there is no time like the present? I think Cindy's idea for something different to work on each week in addition would be good too. I'm going to post my daily caloric intake...good or bad.
-
Woot on the peach fuzzzz Eileen! Soon you'll be tossing your thick mane of hair around just like the gal on the Breck shampoo ads. I went and calculated the correct caloric intake for a weight loss of 2 lbs per week with my current level of activity. THe total came to 2,390. Wowza. Apparently if I just want to maintain I could eat 3,390 calories per day. I guess that puts a whole new spin on how much I was taking in to gain!!!! YIKES. Anyhoo... I think I will probably keep it in the range of 1800 and know that I could possibly have more on occaision without throwing the weight-loss out of the window for the week. My personal challenge will be to reach 195 by Christmas. Onederland or bust!
-
This challenge will be so worth while if you are able to change your ticker!!!! I can't wait to see you reach Onederland! I know what you mean about ice cream... it is my biggest temptation as well. I had already cut it out as of last Monday. I will just never be able to keep ice cream in any form in the house. I may start letting myself have one McDonalds cone per week because they are pretty low in calories and the serving size is controlled. Hey... that means I have gone 1 week and 1 day without icecream! Oh... and I have gone without chocolate (other than the carnation breakfast this morning) for one full week as well. Hope your DD has a great time at camp... I know my DD did! Tonight is the night that I usually stop after class and get a Snickers bar... luckily for me... I couldn't eat one if if I wanted to!
-
Hoooowwweeee... I really did it good! I have to confess that I had a low carb carnation instant Breakfast this morning (chocolate flavored)... but for a good reason... I was HUNGRY!!!! Even that is just sitting there dripping slowly out of my pouch... my own little chocolate IV drip! Eileen... I think that is going to be the only way for me... saying no to a specific food almost gaurantees I will think about it constantly! I think I will go a little higher with my caloric intake but I have to look the rec. caloric intake for weight-loss for my size. Maybe that is the healthiest option anyway... yesterday I stopped and bought a grab bag size cheese puffs in the never ending search for something else. If I am sticking to a specific calorie range I tend to make better choices. Anyoo... Hope the irritation and inflammation caused by that PB fades soon. I don't plan on putting anything but liquids in today or tomorrow.
-
My Doc's P.A. started me out with a whomping 2ccs for my first fill... it was the beginning of a host of problems for me and my band. There are risks with starting out with a slam dunk fill... but the only person that can really answer your question is your surgeon. Good luck!
-
Morning... Betty... Sorry about your foot but I know just how you feel about spider... YUCK!!!! I would rather run into a mouse any day! CIndy... Step away from the couch. Sherry... Don't beat yourself up... this challenge is to be about girls having fun without chocolate and ice cream... LOLOLOL. Well... it was worth a try! Anyhoo... if you fall off the wagon... just climb back on when you're ready. Well... I had a horrible PB last night on steak (Usually always goes down fine)... I horked up the few bites I managed to get in of the steak and vegies and the pain didn't stop. I was up until 4 am and awoke at 6am... feels better than last night but the pain is still there and I am sipping coffee very slowly as that is barely dripping through. I don't think even chocolate or ice cream would go through... *shock horror gasp* So... liquids for me... and I wonder how long I should wait in regards to those not going down well. I'm not going to work out this morning because I'm afraid I can't stay hydrated at one sip per hour... what a lucky break eh? Sorry for the babbling... Have a good day ladies and if you eat anything... chew a couple of bites for me cause I'm starving!!!!

Another day, week, month, now year, not 1 lb......

Jodie... You have gotten a lot of great advice for everyone and I just wanted to add... I think you look beautiful right here... right now. I know you have a wonderful future ahead of you! (((Hugs))) -
Hiya Ladies... So sorry... I have been good... well... in regards to ice cream and chocolate...lol. It was hard this weekend because we were out and about and it was so stinking hot! Unfortunately... I think I may be eating everything else in the attempt to squelch the craving for the no no items. *sigh* Anyhoo... at least I'm still working out! Betty... overjoyed that your hubby found a job...WHEW... that must be a load off of your mind! Anne... Speaking of minds... how kewl that you were reading ours! I bet that suit is going to look terrific when it arrives! Eileen... Wonderful news!!!! I'm so glad it wasn't cancer!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think that great news cancels out the carrot cake. Kat... Darn it all... you are already gone but wishing you a good trip anyway! Congrats on the size 16's! Cindy... Sorry about your DD and her grief... it sounds like you are handling the situation perfectly to me. Time will pass and her pain will lessen... just keep listening and loving her and time will take care of the rest. Patty... Girl... There is nothing wrong with doing nothing! It sounds like your body is screaming for a time out... go with it! Sherry... Doesn't it feel good to get rid of the clothes???? I mean... I know there were some favorites that I hated to give up... but all in all I was glad to see them go. ( Now I wish I had them back... crud ). It funny... before this challenge I barely gave chocolate a thought except for when I would occaisionally buy a candy bar... now I can't think of anything else! LOL. I may have to tweak this challenge for myself and make it a caloric intake challenge or something. Hmmm... that really sounds terrible too...lol. Anyhoo... TTFN

Morning... Sounds like everyone is really putting their all into the challenge. I have not being doing well with regular food choices... It think I am grazing and searching for other foods that will satisfy the craving for the beloved No No foods. Still... went and worked out this morning and am drinking lots of water instead of diet iced tea. It will be too hot to do much of anything outside today so I think I'll try and do some organizing to keep my hands busy and out of the fridge! Sherry... I was thinking what Cindy said in regards to the inner ear... you really shouldn't still be rockin! I think candy goes through the band without difficulty... regardless of the level of restriction. Ice Cream too. Eileen...WTG on the DQ thang! Man... that must have sucked! I can't imagine that nothing has ever come back up for you!!! Yikes... it's just not right that you have yet to see the flying ball of slime. 4 1/2 YEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think we need to get you a cute gyno so that you will go in every year for your check! Dianne... I need to go to that link! I know what you mean about the jellies... I need to ass red twisted vines to my list. :tea: I'm hungry all of the time with the band too. I know it takes that away for some... but it never has for me. I always feel stuck... never full. *sigh* What's a girl to do? Cindy... What shall we call your blizzard alternative??? I think it needs a yummy name? I guess throwing a handfull of M&M's into the mix would be out of the question???? LOL. Wish you could have worked out with me this morning... I really pushed it until I actually had sweat running down my face.... EWWWWWW... I hate sweating! LOL. Betty... How's every little thing with you and your hubby? I talked to Miss Becky Lee... they are heady out to Sturgis today. :fruitsex: Donna... Hubby and I had a nice long talk... hoefully you are right and we just move forward stronger than before. Hope you are having a good weekend! To all the other dear NJ chatters... hope you are all heappy and healthy and don't be afraid to come and post... we promise not to make you give up chocolate or ice cream.......... for more than one week. :target:

Here I am! No chocolate... No ice cream and all is well!!!! It was hotter than the dickens and I wanted a nice cool ice cream in the worst way. THis challenge should get me safely through this heat wave! WTG ladies! We are surviving so far! Dianne... I'm glad Cindy asked... I was wondering myself about the magazine. I bet your hair look fantabulous! Cindy... Today is the only day this week that I didn't work out... planning to go in the morning though.... I'll meet ya there! *wink* Eileen... Bless you for taking that cake off! It's not good for the keyboard to get wet! Kat... No way I could deny myself a blizzard... hope your hubby ate it all up quickly! Sherry... feeling steady yet??? Okay... Off to watch King Kong. I always did like dark hairy men! '
-

Having a tough day with some issues between my hubby and I... say a few prayers for us. I love him...he loves me... hopefully that equals us working things out. (((hugs)))
-
Okay Eileen... My head knows you are right on the money in regards to the sweets... and I will TRY to stay away from all sweets. Did I just type that out loud? Generally ice cream and chocolate are the only sweets I eat but it's possible that the cravings for those things will lead me to others! Tuesday is just not going to be the same without my Snickers bar...lol.
-

Unjury is the best... no yucky smell... mixes well and tastes awesome! It is more expensive but honestly... it is worth every penny! You can find it at http://unjury.com -
Wait... I forgot... Cindy... I know how you feel about the sleeveless thang but honestly... your arms look great!
-
I'm game girls! But hey... I dare ya to start today. *evil grin* Easy for me to say... my freezer is already loaded with SF pops. :huggie: 1 week ladies... start your week whenever you are ready but it is kind of lonely starting my week alone. *sigh* (coupled with a pitiful yet innocent look) hehehehe Well... So far I have stuck to the goals of getting back into exercise and back to the humane society for volunteering. Just got back from an hour and a half there and I am literally covered in dog hair and cat hair from head to toe! *sneeze*

Morning Cher Chickettes! Kat... I am sooooooooo glad you gave one of your friends the opportunity to help! I read a book about a pastor that had a horrible accident and was declared dead at the scene but recovered... and his healing experience. He was in the hospital for a LOOOOONNNNG time and would always tell his parishioners "no" when they would ask if there was anything they could do for him because he didn't want to be a burden. One of his friends finally gave it to him one day and let him no he was selfishly denying all of them the joy of giving...helping and feeling useful to someone they all cared about. When he started saying "yes" and gave his friends and parishioners little things to do for him he was amazed at how they their faces lit up with smiles and how good they seemed to feel to finally be able to do something to help. I never thought of saying no to offers of help as a selfish act in the past... but that booked really gave me a different perspective on it. :bowl: Sorry about the DD's Ex... dang... sometimes we really pick winners don't we? Luckily she has a very supportive family to help her get through this! I hope your Mom gets through all of this and maintains the mobility in her shoulder... sending healing vibes... I also agree with the concerns with medications. I think a good percentage of the geriatric population are being over-medicated. I'm glad your hubby is staying busy... it will be such a relief to have this whole thing behind you both! ((((hugs)))) Eileenie, Cindy and Dianne... (((hugs)))... The support here is the best... the rest is just up to me I think. I think Kat is right though and I'm taking it in small "chunks"... this week I say no to ice-cream and yes to working out... I am also trying different recipes on that website that you shared. Maybe next week I'll say no to the Snickers bar that I stop for every Tuesday night on my way home from class. Ice cream and chocolate are my biggest vices. I just have to suck it up and deal with the lot I've been given with my band but sometimes I just get tired of the fight. It's hard for me to wallow long in my pity party pool long when I am coming here to post. How could I let myself AND all of you down????? :tea: Darcy VS Obesity...Round 20... my dukes are up and ready!:boxing: Off to do my walking video... Joy...LOL.
