(((Hugs))) Oh... and I live in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Aliison... How exciting that you are going to see your family after so long!!! I can't even imagine not living near my sister... even is she was mean to me when I was little. Have Fun! Eileen... Cold???? WOWZA... send a little of that this way! Off to read the latest at LBT... I imagine I will learn a lot about cheese.

My Icon is still present Dody.

Oh Dianne... I hope Lucy is okay! Saying prayers and please let us know how she is doing...okay? It's so hard when puppies are sick... they just can't tell you what is wrong! ((((Hugs))))

WHen I was a nursing student WAY back when... we were told that drinking from a straw would cause more post-operative gas for our patients and to discourage it. Some find this to be a problem...some don't... and I think the worst thing that is could potentially cause is a little extra gas in the belly.

Dianne... My surgeon told me that the 4cc band actually will hold more that 4 cc's... I am wondering if Inamed agrees with this assessment. It's not something I have ever worried about as I can't seem to get over 1cc without problems. You may find it only takes .2 to .4 cc's to get restriction again... but don't cross the worrying bridge until ya get there!

MOrning... I hope you all know that if I miss your name in a post... My memory latches on to the most recently viewed names... but my thoughts really are with all of you! Sherry...Take care with being overly restricted... some of us are just really sensative to fills. You may just need a wee smidge taken out? I know one thing... once that cycle of irritation starts it is really hard to avoid an unfill. I'm glad you are able to take in fluids and can have a protein shake if you need to! Kat... Hope you had a good walk with the hubby....how is he feeling? Eileen... Hmmm... sounds like a child that need that Nanny from that one movie... shoot... can't remember her name but she had big warts... a huge nose and one tooth that stuck out. Betty... We did finally go up to the cabin for a short while on Sunday... there was almost a hint of fall in the air! Fall is my favorite season so I was thrilled! I can't wait until we can wear jackets and be around the campfire up there without mosquitos! Hope you are feeling better today! Cindy... Boy... nobody has ever called me normal before! LOL Hey... I always trya and laugh at myself before others get the chance...lol. In regards to your daughter... my daughter doesn't like anything remotely athletic either. I've tried to get her interested just because I know our gentic predisposition for being overweight... alas... no go. She joined track last year and hated every minute of it...lol. Donna... WHERE ARE YOU??????????????????????????????????????? Okay...we are off to Eyemart... DD glasses broke yesterday of all days and she is blind as a bat without them! TTFN

Hey Guys.. WOWZA... I was finally home for a weekend and all be darned if LBT wasn't...lol. I was beginning to wonder if it was going to come back online! I will have to come back in awhile for more indepth posting... NO WORRIES about joking about the testing on the ole bum... Let's face it... what could be more funny that having a thumbs up from the nurse over the public expulsion of gas after such a glamorous test? Patty... Girl... I am so sorry... it just isn't fair! It's one thing to jump through hoops for approval... it's another to jump through the hoops for a denial! This is why so many end up going to Mexico. (((Hugs))) I sure hope Taylor is feeling better! Dianne.... I wish we could have all seen your show... I bet it was a hoot! Betty... Hope you are feeling better... probably just your body telling you that it needs a little rest! CIndy... looking forward to the long post when you get back! Ahhhh... Kat... Eileen... Pat... Mary... Beanie... Allison... not forgetting you... thinking of you too! I'm being paged by my hubby... hafta go! (((hugs)))

Quitting smoking after being banded
nightingale2u replied to rroswelltx's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hang in there DrewsLou... It gets worse before it gets better but it DOES get better! When you feel the urge... take a deep breath... go for a walk... brush your teeth... drink a big glass of water... anything that will distract you from the craving. You can do it! -
Quitting smoking after being banded
nightingale2u replied to rroswelltx's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I had already gained back quite a bit of weight when I quit smoking... after being banded. I have pretty much leveled out... and even though I would like to be back down at my lowest weight, I am very happy that I was finally able to quit without relapsing. You may want to ask your doctor about Wellbutrin... or utilize the nicotine patches. Quit... you'll be happy that you did. -
Hey Pat... I'm glad that Jae is back in the States! Bless his heart and the pain he will have to endure over his recovery. I can't imagine how helpless his Mom must feel! My prayers continue for Jae... his family and for the safe delivery for momma and baby! Hope your new girl works out... sometimes wimpy girls have gusto... it's just buried a little deeper.

OMIGOSH... Eileen... It is amazing that he is okay... AMAZING! Boy...that picture is going to be one for the scrapbook! Looking forward to the whole story of your DN's life... sounds like it will be an interesting one. I'm not sure if he has bad luck or good luck??? You deserve a vaction girl and I'm glad you are getting one! Oh...BTW... I am not doing well with the dieting either... so don't feel like you are the only one. (((HUgs)))

Morning All! Sorry for the delay... I was soooo drugged yesterday afternoon...lol. My sister kept giggling because I would repeat the same story...OVER AND OVER. The prep was hell but the actual procedure was a breeze... and let me tell you... those were some great drugs! LOL. He saw and removed one polyp and there were internal hemorrhoids... but that was it. Whew! I'm just glad it's over with! Betty... TGIF!!! Hope you are nice and comfy in your jeans today and that you get to snooze till noon tomorrow! Eileen... THis boss situation is getting out of control... that man has got to get a busy travel schedule! Anne... I bet your daughter's room looks so cute! It's always a lot more fun to spend money when it is guilt free! Good luck with your fill next week! LOL on the fart story... I apparently let a fairly impressive one fly after... joy. Sherry... Bummer in regards to the wheat thin incident... yikers! I can usually get those down but tricuits are a whole different ball game...lol. Sip that onion soup and stick with liquids all day if you can. Dianne... Glad you had a wonderful anniversary celebration sporting that thong! I bet your hubby is really enjoying watching you come out of your shell with the weight-loss! COngratulations! Beanie... I bet you are lovin on those grandbabies as I type! I hope you all have a terrific time and that you get some much deserved R&R this weekend! KAt... I did go through a whole ROLL of the Charmin...lol. OMIGOSH... that stuff was awful and I only got a little over half down before it started coming back up. I was afraid they wouldn't do the test and that I had gone throug all of that for nothing... but they did it anyway! Sorry you and the hubby have to miss the Rally... but next year he will be healthy and strong and you will be sporting a sexy little outfit! Mary... I know you are reading so sending you a ((((hug)))) Hope everything is okay with you and that you get some extra time to play with us soon! Donna... Where are you girl... we are all starting to WORRY!!!!! Cindy... While I read the drama on the board because I am afflicted with the "can't pass a train wreck without gawking" syndrome... I never participate. THat's what led my my leaving LBT in the first place and I will never be goaded into participating again. I generally just keep my posts here... it's safer that way... actually... that is a bit sad that I don't feel at ease posting elsewhere isn't it. Oh well. *shrug* How did your daughter's first day back to school go????? OH... and this is funny... that magazine that you and Pat mentioned was placed on my lap to read by the nurse while I was waiting for them to take me back for the scope...lol... I am going to look into getting a subcription as I really enjoyed it! Hope everyone has a great Friday!
-
Hey Pat... I think it is 135 ounces... A LOT... it tastes salty! I've already started drinking it so not going to the store for a magazine now. It's making me feel terribly nauseated... yuck! It's orange flavored... MY BUTT...(no pun intended)... Well... off to drink another cupful. Oh...they fill your intestines with air for viewing purposes... what goes in must come out! Yikes... I think I'll leave my dignity at the door...lol.
-
Well Ladies... I have my 4 liters of NuLytely chilling in the fridge... and 4 big D pills in my system... it's going to be a one on one with the bathroom tonight! I already feel sick to my stomach... anyone want to lay down bets on my keeping the 4 liters headed towards the ole colon? I worked on medical floor and I made many a patient drink this stuff ... I think I'm about to get my pay back! Anyhoo... i think I'm pretty much in for the night... TTFN

Hey Pat... I am so sorry for your best friend, her daughter and SIL... I will certainly keep them in my prayers and please update when you learn more. (((hugs)))

Hey guys... Nate is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo handsome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not to mention cute. COngratulations on the 30 pounds down... wowza! Well... THis going to turn into the week from hell I think...lol. I had my annual and he found occult blood in my poo... he set me up for a colonoscopy this THursday! Makes my butt pucker just thinking about it. I'd have to say I feel a little scared... not about the scope... but more about the blood and what it could mean. Then again... I'm a wuss. I have to take my daughter for registration in the morning which should help keep my mind off of the clear liquid diet... then I am NPO after MN... and the procedure isn't until 2pm the next day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Kill me now...lol. Pat... Glad to see your post... I must go... will try and catch-up on personals later!
-
Miss Cindy... it's quite and undertaking! It's going to be a lot of researching... money and elbow grease! Not to mention that "dog people" are not always fond of people...lol. I happen to be fond of both dogs and people so hopefully that will be a good combination. Encourage your daughter to dream... I was always discouraged from dreaming... told to be safe... stay inside the lines... etc... darn it all! Nighty Night

Vera... you just look amazing... congratulations girl!

Eileen... You crack me up! Home thang???... well.. I have been spending it on the phone in regards to zoning... and working on a business plan for opening a dog daycare... and searching for avail properties.... etc... damn... can't this dream just build itself? Glad you are feeling frisky again! Dianne... You "CRACK" me up as well.... hehehehe... Happy Anniversary! Mary... Gotcha! Come and play soon! CIndy... Hope the day got more interesting for you... if not... I'm sure you can come here and find a controversial thread somewhere to get the fireball rolling! Betty... Afternoon all... Eileen... Sorry you are sick... ummm... you really are very talented at creating a colorful visual...LMAO. Hope you feel better soon! Donna... Yeah... where the heck are you?????? Hope you aren't stuck back in July's chat. Miss Ya! Pat... You are going to be put on scheduled spankings as a reminder to come and post. I mean it girl... don't be thinking I can't run fast enough to catch you in a speeding golf cart. Kat... LOL... people in social situations with alcohol involved can be pretty darned amusing. I try not to think about my craziness when I was younger... but it would be even more embarassing to it now...lol. CONGRATS on hitting the 50 pound loss mark... Woo Hoo!!!! Sherry... I swear... the quote fell right outta that book into my lap... It was so simple but meaningful to me. Cindy...Yeah... that guy is just plain creepy! At least his creepiness can be a warning to people... some people are dangerous and they appear completely normal! Oh... and regards to T.O.M. ... I think he has too much time on his hands... he needs a hobby... perhaps REMOTE travel??? Far...far and away! I hate to debate... I dated a guy once that would debate EVERYTHING... I think his name was TOM... *wink* Anyway... in our LAST conversation... he debated me right into tears... boy... you should have seen all of the emails and phone calls that were never answered. Crying really ticks me off....lol. Betty... We miss you! What a lucky son and hubby you have! Sorry about the jeans... that just plain ole sucks! (((hugs))) Come back and play soon! Have a good week everyone!

Happy Sunday All... Hey... I was reading a book this morning (Bones Would Rain from the Sky) and there was a quote that really caught me. I often see posts of how close members feel to others they have never met but have comminicated with frequently per a forum such at this. When I read this quote... I immediately thought of all of you... "Love does not consist in gazing at each other but in looking outward together in the same direction." ... Antoine de Saint-Exupery (((hugs)))

Psstttt... I didn't go to the shack after all... we are going to go in the morning instead. I just couldn't face sleeping on a futon...lol. Bad sleep week already... figured that might put me over the edge. Cindy... I did take a gander at the post by the fella mentioned... some people have bed head... I think he has a bad case of butt head. Oh... and I haven't eaten asparagus since... and never ever will again! Now... if only I could have a PB that bad on ice cream! Sherry... It's supposed to be beautiful tomorrow so hopefully we'll make a really nice day of it. We are trying to get the back room sealed up so that we can put a REAL bed up there for our rather generous hinders! Okay... off to try and make at least one night of quality sleep for the week! TTFN

Patty... I'll give you the address... and I'll even tell you where the key is to the REAL cabin that is next door to our shack. THey have running water... a jaccuzi tub and a real live flushing toilette! In regards to you friend... what goes around comes around... I would seriously be tempted to send a letter to her hubby in this day and age of AIDS. Her risky and selfish behavior could be putting his health at risk as well. Still... I know it is tough... sorry she is putting you in such a terrible position. She is going to have some Jersey girls on her tail pretty soon! CIndy... I'm going to have to do a little research on the December 25th soap box... I'm afraid I stick close to Jersey central here. :scared: Shoot... my nickname is always Brat... but someday I am going to grow up and be a fireball just like you! Beanie... PBing sucks... especially on asparagus... OMIGOSH... I though I was going to die when that fibrous stuff got stuck! Not to mention the green slime that eventually came back up... EWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!! Eileenie... THat darned boss!!!! I'll be gone to the shack in the morning so I'll have to catch your post when I get back! Allison... We need to see a picture of Nate ASAP. Baby lover on board here. Okay... have to get things packed up to go to the shack... Patty... I' see ya there. Have a good weekend all!

Morning All... Kat... Before I forget... I didn't mean to ignore your question about my hubby's kids... just forgot to address it! They don't give me a hard time at all... but I really like them and I get the distinct feeling that they are uncomfortable when they come here. Let's face it... they spent 20 some years of their life here with their father and mother... I'd feel wierd if I were them. That's awesome what you did for your hubby's nurses! I would have just cried if any patient or family member had ever done that for me when I was working on the floor! Sorry about your sciatic pain... that type of pain put a muscle spasm to shame! Hope you are feeling better! Patty... OMIGOSH... I had a friend that I went through nursing school with that went wild when her long term relationship broke up. She was sleeping with a male nurse that was married with 2yr old twins at home. She was also sleeping with him AT and IN the hospital! SHe was like an addict... risking her job... her friendships... and her own children... it was nuts! Then... that relationship broke up and she went on to ANOTHER married man that happened to be her best friends husband! I was a new mother and wife and I just couldn't listen to all that she was involved with... our friendship never recovered. SHe finally did settle down and get married... I keep waiting for the email crying that some young thang is trying to steal HER hubby away. Good luck... and handle in a way that feels right in your heart. It sounds like the world is revolving around her right at the moment and she is not considering any other person but herself. I'm with Cindy... I sure hope children aren't involved! Honestly Patty... if she is cursing at you on the phone... she may just not be a very nice person please don't take that type of abuse. Sherry... Glad the fill is feeling okay... and according to my surgeon it is not unusual not to be able to extract all of the fluid from the band that was put in. It always seemed to depend on the position I was in... sometimes they got close to what had been put in... and sometimes they would only get 2/3 of what they put in? If you have restriction that stays with you... I wouldn't worry. Beanie... LOL... I thought... holy shmoley... look at that girl post! Hope that huge pile on your desk shrunk a little bit by the end of the day! Congrats on your first PB... I hate ta tell ya... but it's not just the first time that only hurts with those! Yay... it's almost time for you to have fun with the grandbabies! Eileen... Girl.. I hear ya on the hungry thing... I sure wish the band had taken the hunger pangs away like it does for some. *pout* Oh well! I graze on a meal too... sometimes I get 3 bites down... then I circle my food like a buzzard waiting for the bites to finally go down...lol. Sheesh... i should have known that I would eventually do this kind of thing! THe problem is... the three bites are stuck... and I am still hungry in my lower stomach growling and all! Dianne... That is so swesome about the Mrs. H comment and the jean skirt episode! YAY!!!! I'm really happy for you girl! The ice cream social sounds like it will be a blast... can't wait to hear all about it! Betty... Dang... that foot is a real booger isn't it! I sure hope they figure out how to fix it soon! If I were to lay down flat on my back... I would never be able to get up again!...LOL. Cindy... I'm glad your class is so nice and quiet so that you can come and play with us! Welcome Allison! Gotta go! (((Hugs)))
