Morning guys... Feeling a little off but just wanted to drop in and at least keep up with the reading! Dianne... Glad you are feeling better now... those heavy duty PB's really bite! Betty... I wish I could come over for soup! Actually... I wish I lived close to somebody that could be a diet and exercise buddy. *sigh* My Grandma had a phrase about the futility of wishing but I can't post it here...lol. PAtty... I'm so glad that you got to experience a little pampering... taking time for yourself now and then really does recharge the spirit! I won't let ANYONE see my feet...lol. Kat... Sorry about the dog incident... I grew up in the country where people let mean dogs wander about freely... I can remember being so afraid when I would ride my bike home as they would always be there waiting. Some dog owners need a heavy handed bonk on the head and a JUDGE should know that you could sue her pants off if one of her dogs were to bite. I have a dog that is not not like other people... I am EXTREMELY cautious with her and never leave her off lead outdoors unless she is in our invisible fence area. I couldn't live with myself if I ever gave her enough leash to hurt somebody! Pat... Glad you had a good time at the banquet! I would have eaten the whole dessert too! Yum! I love having fake nails too but alas... like you... I am always sticking my hands in the dirt and rarely take the time to put gloves on and I am not good at keeping up with the fills. Besides... have you ever noticed that fake nails can't scratch and itch???? We didn't go to the cabin this weekend... and I think the regain of weight has had something to do with why we haven't gone as much. It's too uncomfortable to sleep on a futon now that I am so heavy again... plus... I am heavy enough that riding the bikes isn't fun or any of our usual activities... I think I'll get off that subject before I blubber... (pun intended). Eileen... Sorry about the TOM... I be following shortly...lol. How you were able to about a searing situation with your food prep. Cindy... Hmmm... what a novel idea... maybe I should clean...organize and simplify... NAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. hehehehe. I wish one of us had more contact info on Donna. I hope her son is okay. Saying a prayer for the families of 9/11 victims today...

Hey Ladies... Sherry... Thanks for the recipe! I'm going to try it tomorrow night! Now... take a deep breath ... go smell a rose or two... that's an order. :couch2: Eileen... I did ask... but he was sure to tell me not to. Hmmmm... I am figuring it will be a much bigger surprise when I do it on his 51st B-day... *evil grin* Mandy... Oh man... that is so terrible! You must be so worried! I will say a prayer and please tell us when you find him! Anne... I love your avatar... you are so pretty!!!! Kat... Bless you... I'm not sure I will be able to take that stage again... even in a grandchild...LOL! Actually... I got off so easy with my DD that I just wouldn't know what to do with a screaming baby... RUN would be my best guess...lol. Cindy... We went to Red Robin for dinner and my hubby wouldn't let me out of his sight... he was scared to death I would tell them it was his B-Day...lol. You are kicking butt and taking names on that weight-loss girl! Congrats! Pat.... Hope your customer paid up for being a PIA. Won't duct tape and socks work for the surprise hubby gift??? LOL Well... I am thinking I will join WW again... after the ice-cream cake is gone of course. I don't know... I think the key is the exercise and I just can't seem to stick with it longer than 2 weeks. Anyhoo... I signed up in this site for finding a "buddy" that is in your area and found 1 gal that lives near me but she has 6 or 7 children ranging from 3 to 19... I'm not sure she would have any extra time for taking walks...lol We'll see! I am going to have to go shopping for clothes if I don't lose weight soon... I can't keep wearing the same pair of pants forever. *sigh* TTFN

Heeelloooooo NJ gals (and guys if there should be any lurking:) ) Cindy... Heck no... not a Vet just a dog owner that has been blessed with dogs with illnesses... yup... I know how to pick'em! Pat... Yup... my hubby has a child bride...LOLOLOL. I've always dated older men and actually... he was almost a little too you for me... hehehehe. I just always found that older men tended to treat me much better than the younger ones. :couch2: Hope everything goes okay with the boobie consult... I can't imagine saying "reduction" in the sentence as "MY" boobies. I know what you mean... it is no small thing having surgery... ever. We are all worried about Donna... hope she checks in one day soon! Anne... Yep... I feel the same way about the kitchen! I feel like people would walk into my house and jusdge me as a slob if my kitchen were a mess... even if the rest of the house was a complete disaster. Sherry... *Raising my hand* "ME....ME...ME... I want the recipe!" Kat... Halarious! I wish I had sone something like that for my hubby! He really is down about turning 50... he was telling last night how he now has one foot in the grave. Poor dear. I did put a roll of duct tape in his gift bag as he is always telling me it can fix anything. Anyhoo... I guess I had better get showered and go pick up an ice cream cake. I'm not sure where we will go for dinner but I do know that Applebee's is out as they sang and embarassed the heck out of him last year.... hehehehe. TTFN

I had to go in and talk to my daughter's principal last year due to something that was happening in her P.E. class. (7th grade) THe first two weeks of school I kep asking specific questions about each teacher and how she was feeling about her classes... when it came to P.E. she would look down and avoid my questions. My DD is slim but she has certainly been made fun of for being different and she is very sensative and kind. I finally asked her if she was having a problem in P.E. and she told me this.... Mom... we were running laps the other day and there were two boys that were way behind. We all sat down and waited for them to finish and our teacher started asking us to chant "slugs" "slugs" "slugs" until they finsihed. She said it made her feel horrible even though she didn't do what was asked of her. She is not athletic and it also scared her half to death that is she came in last this would be done to her. She then said... they were all doing different activities and her teacher looked around and stated... "Well... I guess I know which kids are getting As and which are getting Fs... again... my daughter was horrified as she was not doing well in some of the activities at that moment. THEN... the same boys were not doing well on another day and she asked the whole class to think up their punishment????? HOLY %$#... at this point I nearly blew a gasket! Needless to say... there was a BIG discussion at school and this very young teacher was leaking big tears when trying to explain her behavior to the principal. She apparently was having trouble with these boys and was thinking that peer pressure might straighten them out... she really didn't realize how another child might take it OR that she was encouraging children to be bullies. Anyhoo... I think that as adults it is out job to teach our children to be kind and actively make sure they are living what they are being taught. I was so proud of my daughter... she was petrified that her teacher was going to hate her but she did the right thing. Her teacher was VERY nice to her the rest of the year.

Enough lurking, time for an introduction!

Welcome Lady Ann! Wishing you a smooth journey into Bandland and hope you find all of the info and support you need here! -
Do you have panic attacks at other times? I suffer from panic attacks that I can usually manage with distraction techniques. Do you take medication for a panic disorder? I have had mild panic attacks after some fills but they were generally very short lived. If sipping warm liquids... relaxation and distraction are not making a difference then I guess I would call your surgeon.

Leila... WHEW! I was thinking... wow... I love it when people use slang... make typos and otherwise add personality to their posts! I'm reading posts because I care what people say... not that it is said correctly. I sent my Mom a letter at age 18... she sent my original letter back CORRECTED along with her reply. I never... ever... ever... sent her another letter. I couldn't get over the fear that I would make a mistake. Now... I may have to print your post and mail it to my mother.

Pat... Oh Dear... I sure hope she is able to tolerate fills again at some point! I just have my wee 1 cc in my band and it seems to be enough to keep me from gaining but not enough to help me lose all that I gained back. Oh well! Becky and her hubby have been taking quite a few Harley riding trips this summer so I haven't chatted with her as often as usual. Well... My hubby turns 50 tomorrow... he is not all that happy about it...lol. I was going to plan a surprise party but he has made it pretty clear he doesn't want a party. *poo* I suppose it's all for the best... he'd just turn around and get me on my 40th in July...lol.

Whoops Dianne... You must have been posting when I was! Aw man... Sorry about Lucy. I can't give Ava anything but the Royal Canine... if she has treats... cheese... hotdogs... milk bones... ANYTHING else... diarrheaville here we come! She can't even eat the food our other pup is eating without getting the squirts. The only thing that I can half get away with giving her for a chewing/busy time is a Kong with a small amount of peanut butter smeared on the inside. SOmetime you can soak nylabones in chicken broth and they will take an interest in them... ANyhoo... I finally figured the Royal Canine was expensive but cheaper than going to the vet every week...lol. Ava is a ball FREAK so I use those for rewards. I keep a basket full of them and when she does nice things like come when I call her... lay quietly... etc... I give her one. Sometimes I see her look at the basket and then... you can see her brain working... hmmmmm... what was it I was doing the last time she gave me one of those???? Anyhoo... Hope Lucy feels better soon!

Morning! Eileen... Most Docs actually do give that warning now...and that warning was with my Wellbutrin when I picked it up at the drugstore. My doc told me about the potential for thoughts of suicide when he started me on the Wellbutrin in August. Man... I wish I could eat toast... *sigh* Bread... beautiful bread... WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA Betty... Keep babying that foot girl! Oh... and I did go workout this morning... YAY. THey all looked at me like...hmpf... lookie who really needs to burns some calories! THat's the only bad thing about the place I chose to exercise... nobody seems to be fat. I feel like a big tub-O-lard when I am there. Anyhoo... keep up those leg lifts and the swimming and you'll get all of the exercise your bod needs! Allison... The other girls really covered the subject well but I just wanted to tell you to hang in there... dementia is tough for ANYONE to handle... and it is really hard on the family members. If it cheers you up at all... my Grandma was like that without dementia. I took care of her after her hip surgery and was about ready to lead her into traffic by the time my Mom took over. (((hugs))) Pat...Hey... how is your Mom doing???? Has she had any success with her band???? Well... I'm bound and determined to accomplish things today! Working out will mean nothing if I don't keep the ole tush on the move!

Hi All, Mandy... Your daughter will be in my prayers... I hope the medication changes will help with the weight gain. She is very lucky to have such a loving and caring Mom. Dianne... So glad that Lucy has got her groove back! (((hugs))) Beanie... So glad you had a fun vacation and don't worry about the gain... that is what vacation is all about! Anne... Hope you had fun running errands and hope I follow through with the plan to workout... I feel like a big bump on a log! Kat... I bet you are going to be able to buy a sporty little t-shirt at the next rally... won't that be awesome??/!!! Patty... Hope you enjoyed your last day of freedom! You have cyber exercise buddies... right here. Eileen... Glad you are here... don't be askeered... we'll protect you from the evil hacker...even if LBT seemingly seems unconcerned. I make this assumption as there have been zero announcements about any of the ruckus. Cindy...LOL... one of these days you are going to forget to cover us up on your computer screen...lol I think the make-up thingy party would be fun... as long as I don't have to do it....hehehehehe. Allison... It sounds like you all had a great time with the party...so glad! I'm not much of a party gal... when my DD had her B-Day party with 8 young teenage girls I thought I would need a rubber room by the time they went home... OH THE DRAMA. (((hugs)))

Hi Cyndy! Welcome to LBT! I bet your DD is beautiful...you'll have to post a picture once you get to know us a little better! Good luck with your journey to Bandland and I hope you find all of the support and information you need here.

It doesn't sound crazy to me.. that is a great idea! I saw a movie a long time ago but I can't remember the name of it or who was in it... the mother was dying and she was recording tapes for her baby that would be too you to ever remember her... it was sooooooooooooo sad! I hope you never have another scare like that... I hope none of us ever has a scare like that!

Wow Mary... I'm so sorry about the little clipper mishap! If is makes you feel any better... I took my daughter to have her hair cut by a professional at age 6-7 and she accidentally clipped her skin with the scissors. Must be one of the hazzards of using sharp things! Yeah... They ran some of the more memorable shows on Animal Planet last night. THe ones about his children really got me... So... It got me to thinkin... If I knew that tomorrow was my last day on earth... what would I do with it? Me: I would gather my DD, hubby and family and fly us all out to California to camp out on the beach ... and have as much fun and talking... and hugging and loving as possible. I'd want to create the happiest memory possible for my girl to carry with her through her life.

4th fill. Am I doing this wrong? Is there a sweet spot?
nightingale2u replied to SRaeM's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
That's the million dollar question! Unfortunately... it is not easily answered but I think Leatha did a pretty darn good job! When I have a fill that is giving me a really good amount of restriction... no amount of chewing will allow me to get certain foods down. Right now I have a moderate amount of restriction and even if I chewed a soft slice of bread to death... it would still get "stuck"...lol. ( I have tested this hypothesis ) :welldoneclap: I have found that every time I started questioning the need for a fill... I needed one. Some people need a tighter fill to stop eating around their band... I am one of them. Good Luck! -
Slender Lady, Liberty Fitness or Curves???
nightingale2u replied to housecatgirl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Most of these gyms will offer a free trial membership for 1 week... if they don't offer... ask. I did this with the two places available where I live and made my decision that way. Good Luck! -
Hey Texas Brat... How did your surgery go???? Wishing you a bery speedy recovery!
-
THat was fun! I am going to have to make some changes as I only get to age 79. I'll put that site in my favorites and take the test when a few months from now...thanks!

Morning all... Anne... Good to see you girl! How was your vacation... tell us all about it when you get a chance! Dianne... How's Lucy???? Glad you are feeling good about your fill and have fun at Curves! THis morning was my DD's first day back to school... she was thrilled...not...lol. I thought she might be excited about being at the top of the heap in the 8th grade this year but... not so much...lol. WHen she was walking away I couldn't help but notice how she is becoming a young lady ... the little girl seems to have disappeared. *sigh* My big plan for exercise is to get the house organized today and start going to workout every morning when I take Em to school. That seemed to work for me before...let's hope it works again. Great Week Wishes!

Hi Ginger... Walking is the best exercise at this stage. :welldoneclap: You may want to call your surgeon's office for more specific instructions for when they would recommend adding other types of activity. Congratulations on being banded!

Wondering... WHy does it say USA local lapband support threads are locked with the the locked icon????
