Kat...reading your post nearly broke my heart...I'm so sorry this has happened and I pray that you dear hubby will continue to improve. Is he unconscious at this point due to sedation for the ventilator? Are there times that are better for calling as I know some hospitals don't allow cell phones? Honestly...I sent Michele my home number and I have unlimited long distance...call me ANYTIME that is good for you and I will call you right back. We are all with you in spirit ((((Hugs))))

Oh dear... Kat... when I read Michele's post my heart just dropped... I pray that Rick's condition has stabalized enough to allow surgery and that you are both surrounded with friends and family and all of our prayers. Michele... I hope you are able to give us an update soon... Kat... you know that we would all be right there with you if we could... (((((((((((((((((((((Big Hugs))))))))))))))))))))))))))

Hey Everyone... Just got back from the cabin and I'm tired as a one armed wallpaper hanger. Rake leaves....burn ... rake... burn... AND... the darn things were falling and filling the places we raked! Oh well... was still fun. Picked up the van friday... it's a Hyundai Entourage and omigosh... it's beautiful! I had no idea that the gold would look so pretty and the the salesman had been such a poop head and was worried about the customer survey so he added black pin striping. Now... I have to read the owners manual to try and figure out what all of the pretty buttons do...hehehehe. Patty..so sorry you are sick...hope you feel better soon!!!! Kat... Hope the treatment that they have planned for your DD works fast kills the infection! Eileen... So glad that Olivia is recovering well... and what a bummer that your SIL is putting her in such a position. Bonking your SIL on the head. Luv and Hugs... I'll be back tomorrow to do personals... I reek of leaf burning smoke!

Mornin All and Happy October! Thanks for starting the new thread Cindy... starting it early is SO something I would do! SHall we refer back to the Brokeback mountain incident...hehehehe. Wow... I'm trying to imagine the 20 below, snow blowing, freezing your lungs with every breath weather ... WTF am I doing that for!!!! LOL. Okay... I will just stick to loving Fall... it really is my favorite season! We hung around here this weekend... went out... bought a new minivan that should arrive Wednesday. I was really hoping to talk myself into a small SUV but the darn van was the same price with tons of room and lots of fun do-hickies. This is the first "New" car I have ever had... as I have spent most of my life as a single mother... it was a kewl feeling! Eileen... So glad Olivia came through surgery okay... bless her heart... life will be a tough row for her won't it. You all are still in my prayers. Patty... Well... now it is time to wait on that lawyer! I'm so glad that your Mom surprised you with a little moolah so that you can get the ball rolling! Hope you feel better soon... the thought of drinking grapefruit juice is just sending shivers down my spine.... blech! Oh... seriously... you and all of the NJ forum members are welcome to stay at the cabin anytime as long as nobody fights over the use of the porta-potty...lol. Ira... You should post more often... some of us haven't gotten the pleasure of getting to know you! Nice to see your face though! Anne... glad the scale is moving for you...WOO HOO! Kat...Glad you are home safely and without snake bites on you hinders! YIKES... I would have been piddling outside for sure! Sounds like you worked you butts off and I bet it is good to be home! Hope everyone get over here in October soon! Oh... and I had a Dodge minivan and while it was under warranty... we took it in as the ABS light was on and the brakes were acting funny. THey said there was rust on the cap that covers the switch and wouldn't cover the cost of the switch going bad because it was environmental???????????? THey said rust on any part automatically renders no coverage to whatever part has failed. HOLY CRAP... we live in Wisconsin eh! That is pretty much like not having a warranty in my fairest estimation. So...just wanted a heads up for those considering a Dodge product. Oh... and BTW... the van only had 35,000 miles on it. Hugs to all!

HAve a good weekend everyone! Oh...Pat... thanks for the invite... trying to get me addicted to the REAL Pogo...lol. I can resist! I think I can... well... maybe

Hey Guys... I'm alive... just feeling a little funky... I'll bounce back soon enough. I'll be peeking in to make sure you are all behaving. *wink* Eileen... So sorry about Olivia and the family troubles. I can't believe the hospital doesn't provide free parking for direct family members of patients... JEEZE!!!! I hope she somes through all of her planned surgeries with flying colors and adapts to her new home situation. (((hugs and prayers for all of you))) LOL about your knees... oh how that must have stirred the conversation... I slipped on the ice once coming into work and landed on my knees... the crew had a field day with it. Rita... COngrats on your arrival to Onederland... WTG!!!! Mandy... OMIGOD... there is not a chance in the world anyone would get near my foot with a needle... you are a brave woman... not to mention skinny. I so hope that you are able to enjoy your trip despite the foot situation! Oh... in regards to medium sized dogs... there are websites that you can put in the characteristics you are looking for in a pet and they will match you with the breeds that will most closely fit. Maybe it's petfinder.com ... I'll check. Beanie... Awesome on the exercise... it feels so great once ya get there and git er done... but darned if it isn't like moving a mountain to haul the butt in and get started! WTG girl! It's nice that your hubby is working out with you! I've been back to taking my GS dog for fairly long walks every morning but still haven't hauled my hiney into the gym. Cindy... No worries... I'm nolonger glowing and can hug my family again. Now... the waiting game to see when the ole thyroid will gasp for it's last breath...lol. Betty... Hope you get a good nights sleep soon... boy... I sure know how that feels... it sucks!!!! When I was working it was hugely worse... at least now I know I don't have to use my brain all that much during the day...lol. Anyhoo... hope you get some shut eye soon! Mary...(((hugs))) hope to see you post soon! Pat... Sorry girl... hope you find a way to get insurance to cover the "girls"! Let us know what happens! Hey Gals... My DstepD came up this weekend and didn't leave untill this morning so I haven't had a chance to check in. I wasn't supposed to cook for the first 48 hours because apparently the radioactive iodine can also be excreted in sweat and the 1st 48 hrs is the most dangerous time. *shrug* I was okay with it! The said it would be okay to go to my dog training class tonight so I must not be as much of a leper on day 4. Betty... Sorry I missed your B-day... and sorry about the wet boot bike ride! Glad you ended it with a happy BBQ though! Eileen... GLad you survived the big D visit! I still hate going but I force myself to go! I am planning on going in for a whitening on my 1 year anniversary for quitting smoking. Wishing your tooth bon voyage and hoping your ready to bite that ole boss soon! I have one halloween decoration to my name...well... maybe two... okay... three... and they are all out and ready for fall. Patty... You really are Super Mom... when you get your band you are going to have enough energy to be Super Mom and run for president! Sherry... Seriously... stress is a big health issue there isn't a job our there that is worth risking your health. I'm really glad you have your family around to balance things out a bit! Take care of yourself... you are one of a kind. CIndy...Glad your DD did wel with her recital! It's funny how we take on the nervousness for them! I bet she was adorable! Well ... have to go... had 1.5 hours sleep last night and still need to get over and work with my sister dog... pick up her CHristmas present and then head to class. I hope I don't fall asleep during class! I was up all night worrying about my DstepD's wedding. I have never met her mother but I know that she is gorgeous... blonde... perfect figure... and most of the people attending the wedding will be her mother's friends and family... we are really guests more than anything else. THe wedding is in June and I am literally in a panic about it. *sigh* Gawd.... I feel like crying just thinking about it! WHere's valium when ya need it...lol. Love ya... TTFN

Rita... I thought that was you dancing beside me!!!! hehehehe Cindy... no problems... tis all good... now I will get to work my way to being HYPOthyroid... yuck. My daughter has had lessons in cooking for the last two nights as I am not supposed to cook ( ah darn)... she is now well versed in making chili dogs and a Homebake box mix. this whole thing may make me an expert at delegation! Betty... Nope.. no sleeping with the hubby for 7 days! It's me... and the couch and late nights with Jerry Springer...lol. I wanted to watch Grey's but also love CSI... so had to chose. *pout* I think Grey's is going to be on again tonight so hopefully I will get to catch it! Hope you got a better nights sleep girl! Beanie... Glad you were out of harms way and boy howdy... you sure do get to do some exciting things! NYC would probably eat me alive...lol... not to mention suck the pocket book dry! Awwww bummer Eileen! I put off going to the dentist for like 5 years... holy cow did I ever pay the price! I will never...ever...ever...ever do that again! I'd love ta take ya out for a drink when they are done wit ya tho...hehehehe.
-
Awww Mandy... hopefully a cooling trend will come through for your trip! CIndy... Maybe Air-Headed... LOL... I feel fine... it's just weird keeping my distance from my family.
-
Wowza...Thanks Eileen! I was watching an online news channel for NYC! Was she in that hotel????
-
Hey guys... Wow.. I'm really behind... not sure I can catch up! I'm a glowin... and feel like somewhat of a leper. Apparently it's the 1st 48hrs that I have to really worry about exposing others to the radioactive iodine that my bod is excreting. After that... the chances are slim... unless of course I pee on someone or spit on them. I'll try and control myself. I'm feeling scatter brained so I will come back and attempt personals later! (((hugs)))

LOLOLOL My hubby asked me ... "Honey... so you know what this movie is about?" I was like... nope... but it won a couple of academy awards and it has cute cowboys in it so I imagine it will be pretty good...LOLOLOL. He was really NOT amused....lol. The more I think about it... the funnier it gets...LOL I mean really... one would have thought Cinderella Man would have been the questionable movie...lol
-
Hey Ladies... I am such a dork... I got my hubby three movies for his birthday...Frantic... Cinderella Man... and the last I picked up on my way out because there were two manly looking cowboys on the front and it said it won two Academy Awards... sounded perfect for my man....... Brokeback Mountain.... OMIGOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh dear... needless to say... when it got to the first "tent scene"... both of us nearly had a heart attack!!!!! If they would have named it Humpback Mountain I might have read the back of the movie jacket before buying it...LMAO. Thank goodness my daughter wasn't home!!! My sister just laughed her a$$ off... she couldn't believe that neither of us heard about the controversy surrounding the movie. Holy Shmoley...
-
Ahhh...Thanks Pat... I needed a good laugh!

Freaky Wheets... mine stays put and if feels like it's going to charge up into my ribcage so I wish it would go wandering. Hope you find yours soon!

COngrats on veing banded! I had a similar experience after surgery and my surgeon explained that he placed stitches in the muscle to hold the port in place and that some patients experience mild to severe muscle spasms. Pain medication really did not help but the muscle relaxant that he ordered made a world of difference. Good luck!

You look wonderful... Congratulations! I can't imagine what it is like to be insulin dependent but I'm sure it a bit like a miracle to be able to stop taking it! -
(((hugs)))... It's just not fair that our furry friends have such a short life span... not fair at all. So sorry for your loss and hoping time will come to your hearts rescue.
-
Morning All... Eileen... Wow... You really have had a plate full of family scares! I'm so sorry about your neice and I pray that they will decide to go ahead with her surgery sooner if for no other reason than to spare her more pain. In regards to th thyroid... they are trying to kill it off... the radioactive iodin is only absorbed by the thyroid gland and I will have to take thyroid hormone replacement for the rest of my life. THe pros... no surgery and the risks that go along with that... the cons... it is a more gradual process than surgery and I will have to be careful the first few days so that I don't kill anyone elses thyroid...lol. The nice thing will be losing that feeling of fullness/choking in my throat. Betty... I wish I did live closer to you... I think we should all pick a town and relocate there...lol. Don't worry... I am not in the mood to have a doctor cut my throat...bring on the glowing pill! Congrats on the raise! Sherry... Glad you had fun at the fair! It's amazing to see the difference in what can be shoved sown the ole gullet once you have restriction isn't it! Not sure when they will give me the trtmt... they are to call me on Monday and set it up. Cindy... Hope to see your friend here posting soon... the more the merrier! SOunds like you will busy this weekend! I colored my hair a week or so ago... got tired of the highlighted look...guess I'm ready for winter! Dianne... Hope Lucy is feeling better and LMAO on the Mushroom Head comment... hehehehehe... I wonder if they teach them to do that in beauty school???? MAybe is is because they practice on too many lil blue haired women in beauty school? Mary...Glad you are feeling better... I hope your weight gain is just due to all of the muscle being bulit from the increased exercise! I feel your frustration girl! KAt... You go girl... you are really kicking butt! I know how good it feels to really be exercising regularly! I don't know why I fight it so hard when I feel so much better doing it! I'm proud of you! Boy... you are going to have an awful lot of B-day cake to resist this month! Pat... I think you look beautiful in the picture for operation smile... so there. The wine doesn't look half bad either...hehehehe. Okay... I went to POGO... I'm not a big game player but it has been fun. My name there is DarceeLynnPlyr. Mandy... I'm sorry about your puppy... sounds like this may be why he was at the shelter. Hopefully he will stay safe and be picked up eventually! I may need to get that website addy from you... I'd love to pick some little things up for Christmas presents! Patty... Heck girl... I'm off the wagon more than I'm on. I wish it were different and I know that the band is really working for all that post to this thread... but sometimes it is hard to be the lone failure...lol. THe one good thing is that you can see that the Lapband does work for the majority of people. Hoping that all the legal efforts will make the difference for you finally getting your Band! Anne... crossing my fingers that the scale will pop up with a brand spanking new LOWER number for ya! If I missed anyone... forgive... hope the rest of the weekend is great for everyone!

Hey Ladies... Sorry I went AWOL... It's been a hectic week! My system is just all whacked out with this thyroid business but the good news is that they are going to set me up to glow like a CHristmas tree and kill the doubled lobed little booger off! The doc gave me the choice... surgical removal or radioactive iodine and I'm in no mood for someone to be cutting my throat. My other doc upped the Wellbutrin and gave me medication to help me sleep so I should be completely catatonic before ya know it! *wink* I need to go run some errands but wanted you all to know I am reading and caring about all of you! DIanne... Girl... I have been where you are... I was about ready to pull my hair out by the time Ava seemed to make a turn around! I'm glad they are trying antibiotics... they did that right away with my girl. THe food I am giving her now has active culures such as you find in a good quality yogurt... I don't know if that was the magic ingredient or not. IS it possible that Lucy is getting into something out in the yard... or a plant in the house???? Sorry sweetie... I know I finally started sleeping on the couch with her on a leash beside me because she had to go out so often... it was awful. Okay... Sorry.. really have to go now....lol... I'll try and catch up on personals later!

Anne.. My hubby has a cheap little program called irfanView... It has a tab that says resize picture... I clicked on that... picked the half size tab... and voila! Oh...and with yours I cropped it so that we could see more of your cuties and less of everything else. DEFinitely don't worry about a messy table and I swear... I am going to use your kitchen picture to show my hubby EXACTLY what I want for a kitchen! WHat is Pogo? Good day wishes to all...
