I need help! I need more Protein in my diet but I HATE Protein shakes and bars! I've tasted different kinds and I have not liked any! I feel like I do fine at lunch and dinner but I need Breakfast ideas where I can at least get 15 grams of protein. Any ideas? Thanks

So I am going Wednesday to make sure my band has not slipped or eroded. I got everything removed from my band about 2 months ago and I have to get 3 fills since. I still have no restriction so my doctor said she wanted to check and make sure everything is fine.Has anyone ever had a your band slip or an erosion and there not be any symptoms other then no restriction? -
So I was banded in Dec 2012 by the end of June 2014 I was under my goal weight and felt great!!! Well here it is almost Oct and I've put 57 pounds back on 51 of which were in 12 days when I first got sick! I got sick in July I was swelling bad couldn't get nothing down not even Water to so I went and seen my doctor. I wanted her to take all the Fluid from my band but she wouldn't (which now I am so grateful for). Since then there is still no diagnoses with what was wrong with me (if i go off the meds i was put on i swell up). I am going to different doctors trying to figure it out hopefully I'll get answers soon. But I have gotten two fills since the the end of July and I have no restriction and I am always hungry. I am going to see my doctor next week and I'm hoping that she can give me advice on what to do. But right now I just feel like I keep putting weight on. I am working out and trying to eat right but I feel like I'm starving between meals. I just want to get back down where I was I didn't realize then how great it was! Sorry for the rambling I'm just so frustrated and really wanting answers=(

Ok so I have posted before about this and have not really got anyone respond that this has happened to but I am just hoping maybe someone can relate and let me know what I can do to get back where I was. So I got sick July 4 within 12 days I put on 51 pounds (went from 168 to 221) but i was very swollen. Went to the hospital and got admitted July 17th they couldn't figure out what was wrong with me got released July 19th. Went and seen different doctors since then and no one know what is wrong. My liver enzymes are elevated and I'm going to a GI doctor September 16. I was put on medication at the hospital for the swelling and went from 221 to 209 in about 2 weeks. I ran out of meds for 2 days and put on about 20 pounds so now I'm around 230. I got my band adjusted July 9 but my doctor put everything she took out back in on July 30th. But I don't have any restriction at all and before with that amount in my band I couldn't get nothing down but she wanted to test it. The soonest she can see me is Sept 4th. I know this is a long shot and it may not have anything to do with my band but I am very devastated with the weight gain and wanting to know if this has ever happened to anyone. Or if someone has put all there weight back on but lost it again? Thanks in advance!

I really hope not! I'm praying and hoping that the doctor I see next will be able to figure it out and get it under control.

Oh I stay on them they just send me for blood work and tell me to see my lap band doctor (guess thats there easy way out). I am on diuretics and I'm going to see the gi doctor sept 16th so hopefully he can give me some answers. As for the kidney and cardiac issue everything has been checked and the doctors say they are in good shape!

My body is retaining fluid. I eat healthy I just have no restriction. Plus everyone said eating 51 pounds of food in 12 days is nearly impossible and you would have to do nothing all day. I work out and eat healthy.

So I plan to start the 5 day pouch test on Sunday. Did anyone drop weight doing this? Also I am on medication that says to take with food, I know the first two days are Protein shakes and liquids. Will the shake substitute for the food or do I need to eat something solid?

Okay so I have had my lap band 20 months. I got down to 168 but had some health problems and put on weight most of it was Water weight but I had to get my band unfilled so some of it wasn't. I am wanting to get back on track and get back down to where I was because after putting the weight back on I finally figured out what I wanted my goal weight to be. I would like to start by doing a liquid diet but I cannot remember the diet I was on before my surgery. I lost 18 pounds in 2 weeks and would like to try to do that again. If anyone can give me suggestions on what your liquid diet was it would be greatly appreciated=) Thanks!

Thanks for the feed back! I should have noted that I put on 51 pounds in 12 days of which is mostly water weight this was about a week and half ago maybe 2. I have lost about 10 pounds and I am also on meds to help the water weight come off but I figure the liquid diet would also help speed the process up.

I was nervous at first on who I should tell. Then when the weight started coming off I felt like I needed to tell anyone who asked the truth. I dont hide that I have lap band because it has saved my life and if by telling the truth I can help someone else out I want to do that. I have gotten some negative feedback but for the most part everyone is supportive. I even have complete strangers who have heard my story through others ask me questions and want to look into having.

Thanks everyone!

So I've been sick since July 4th. I went to the hospital July 7th and got fluids for being dehydrated. Then on the 9th I went to my lap band doctor to get adjusted and talked to my doctor because I had thought I was bulimic but according to her it was all because my band was to tight. So Thursday I noticed I started swelling all over and thought that I was having an allergic reaction to something. By Sunday I was feeling a little better and the swelling had gone down. When I got to work Monday morning I weighed myself and had put on 25 pounds. I started swelling again Monday night. I went back to the doctor on Thursday (6/17) and had put on a total of 40 pounds in 8 days. The doctor said she was not sure what was going on that no one could put on that much weight in that amount of days she was going to call my lap band doctor and talk to her that she would give me a call when she found something out. Later that day the swelling got bad so I went to the hospital they admitted me for low potassium and ran all kinds of test trying to figure out what was wrong. The doctors don't know why I am swelling and most of the doctors did not believe I gained that much weight even though I had proof from my last 2 doctor appointments. Plus I was gaining weight while in the hospital. So now here it is 12 days since my last adjustment and I've put on a total of 46 pounds in 12 days! I've called my lap band doctor and they said they will call me back. I'm not sure what else to do but I'm freaking out!!! Has anyone else had any problems like this or heard of anything happening to make someone put on this kind of weight...the doctors I've seen say I can't hold that much water weight and it cant be weight from over eating that it has to be the lap band.

So I ended up going to a PCP and they told me that I more then likely malnourished. So that and the rapid weight loss put my body and shock. They still are not clear on what is causing the swelling but once that is figured out they said the weight will come off as quick as I put it on. Such a relief having someone believe me and give me some type of answer!=)

Thanks the doctor is in surgery today so they are waiting for her. So I'm about to go to the er at the hospital where she is at.

The weekend after I got adjusted I didn't eat like I normally would but I didn't go crazy by no means. I figured just from being able to eat and drink again I would put on a little weight but 46 pounds is just crazy. I've never had any of these problems before. If I dont hear back from my lap band doctor today I'm going to go back to the hospital that I went to the first time when I was 46 pounds lighter.

I'm scared to death as fast as I'm putting this weight on. I just want to cry I've worked hard and months to get where I was at and in just days I'm putting it back on.

I went and seen my doctor I was to tight. It did take me getting dehydrated to go but I have learned my lesson. But everything is fine now and I am keeping everything down.

Today should be an exciting day for me I hit my first goal weight! But instead I am so nervous that I might be bulimic. I do not spit up every time I eat but I do 98% of the time which I know is not good. I don’t force it up I just bend over the toilet and it comes right out. I go to the doctor in August (cant go before then bc of work) and I plan on talking to him about it then I just want to get others peoples opinions and see if this has happened to anyone else. Also I've noticed that some mornings I wake up and feel like something is stuck and when it finally comes up it is black! Anyone ever experienced this?
