I received my bill for $41K two weeks ago. I'm a cash patient and signed all kinds of documents stating the only thing i would be required to pay beside the original $10K was if i had to have a hernia repair. Which they repaired. I called my surgeon immediately about the bill and they said they would take care of it. I think its a lack of communication between the hospital and surgeon. I am staying on top of them about it because i don't want that crap on my credit. Crazy how they only charged me $10K and then the bill comes and says $41K.

my doc says I can't take Calcium and Multivitamin together... i was literally taking Vitamins all day. I bought the regular Centrum adult vitamins and have been breaking them up... It doesn't say anywhere on the bottle NOT to break them up. I only have to take that once a day instead of 4 times a day with the chewables. I'd prefer once a day because i was literally taking vitamins every two hours and it was hard to keep up with... does anyone know if this okay? I also have to take Vitamin d, Biotin. Not to mention the b12 shots i have to give myself. It's like a job keeping up with the vitamins.

No Weight Loss

can you tell me what a "slider" food? I haven't figured that one out yet. -

I use unjury chocolate splendor. It's really good... I mix it with unsweetened almond milk. Recently discovered almond milk and it's half the calories of skim milk. Works good in coffee too!
-
Congrats on your will power!!!! Did they know you've had the surgery and still asked you to come "look" at the food? If so, that's really inconsiderate! I hope that's not the case! Keep it up!!! I'm getting banded a week from today... are you still not hungry? when was your surgery?

Anybody Got Post Lap Band Blues????
Baltimore2012 replied to nursesweetc's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I really believe that anesthesia can cause you to feel blue... I know it's been a few weeks but I really think it can linger and make you feel down. This surgery wasn't minor... You're body is going through tons of changes... Also your mind and emotions too... I think it'll pass in a few days. Hang in there! :-) -
A Little Disappointed
Baltimore2012 replied to lhuffman's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Insurance can turn you down for gallbladder surgery? That's crazy! That's a medical problem, not some random surgery. Surely they can't make you live like that! I would try to appeal if you can. I am a self pay... my insurance just doesn't cover bariatrics on my policy. They wouldn't even consider it. So i understand. Good luck! -
Pre Op Liquid Diet People
Baltimore2012 replied to thinkt2013's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My pre-op is super easy... I basically am on a high protein, low carb diet. I don't have to drink the shakes, but i'm drinking them in the morning. Counting calories... 900-1000 per day. I got lucky... But the post op seems like it's going to be so hard. 2 weeks clear liquids, 2 weeks protein shakes, 2 weeks mushies, then regular diet. Thanksgiving falls under the protein shake phase. Blah! BUT - I'll be on regular diet by Christmas and hopefully like 30lbs lighter. -
I'm in Austin... having surgery the same day! How's the pre-op diet going? I started today but my diet is super duper easy... Just low carb, high protein 900-1000 calories a day.

You're gonna do great! Is it only because you're having the ultrasound that you can't have any liquid? -
