I was a big guy in school but not real overweight. I was pretty athletic playing football and weight lifting regularly. The older I got the more lazy I got I guess. I also suffered my first back injury at 21 and things got worse from there. Between meds and depression I was taking on weight like the titanic took on water! I married my wife in 2001 and she helped me by getting me back into school to achieve some of my dreams, like graduating high school because I left high school my senior year and never planned to go back or even thought I was worth it. Then came college. I found I had a knack for the medical field and became an EMT and was soon onto Nursing school. Things were great! Then we were in a car accident and back and neck were pretty damaged. So, I dropped nursing school and on came more depression and weight. What a vicious cycle! Well here we are some 10 years later and I'm almost 3weeks post op. I've had my moments but I now have a better understanding of myself and that I'm worth the effort and my family needs am healthy! So here we go! Another journey, chapter what have you. This will be life changing!
