Thanks for sharing this with us Marie, I will definately say a prayer for Phillip Does this mean Alexandra will now put back the obituary on this site that she removed yesterday? Or does the original person who posted it need to re post it again?

New yummy recipes for mushy stage and beyond
La_madam replied to hagerteresa's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Teresa this soupssounds delicious, I will have to make it for my son he loves chicken soup. For me personally, I so not do soups, liquid calories... they kill me. I prefer to get my calories in solid form to last longer in my pouch, keep me satisfied longer, but again, thanks for posting it I am going to print this out and make a pot for the family, we have some rain on its way this week, and there is nothing better then homemade soups on a cold rainy day -
Pain in the left lower side of abdomen
La_madam replied to Pacomomma's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I had the pain and I still have it from time to time and I am 11 months post op. I actually gas trapped in my tubing or around my port area. I had it so bad the other day, then passed soem gas and it was better. It feels like I have a sideache from running too much, but as I said it comes and goes , my Dr. said it is normal and most likely trapped gas. I tend to believe him since I have been paying real close attention to when I get the pain and when it goes away. -
GOT FILLED LAST MONDAY, TOO TIGHT NOW! What should I do?
La_madam replied to KarenB's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Karen, Marie offers good advice.. did you do 24 hrs of liquids after your PB? The reason I ask is when you PB your esophagus can become swollen giving you more restriction the next time you eat any kinds of solids, if you do not do liquids it can become a vicious cycle. Ortiz always reccomends 24 hours of liquids aftera PB. -
When my mother died I placed a heart shaped stone in my yard that reads " Blossom where you are planted" I have a beautiful rose bush I purchased yesterday and will plant it next to the stone in honor of Blossom
-
I think this is a wonderful idea and I am going to participate. Goin out right now to find me the most beautiful "blossoming" tree and plant it in my yard, I have the perfect place. Thanks Greg and Vera! I too have been sickened by this all day long, Blossom has been on my mind ever since I heard the tragic news.

Oh My godness! This is such a shock. My yeyes arewelling up with tears as I type this. The last time I spoke with Blossom was last week when she was goin in for another fill. I sent her a message asking if she felt any difference, never got a reply. I'm so saddened by all of this . Blossom was a very sweet, kind caring woman and her words and firendship will definately be missed by me on a personal level and on this board. Philip, If you are reading this, just know that you and your family are in my thoughts and I offer my deepest sympathy. Blossom was a wonderful woman! P.S. Marie, thanks for letting us all know.

I just realized that the creamer I put in my coffee everyday has 40 calories per teaspoon, I used the french vanilla creamer. I was using 2-3 in each cup and 3-4 cups a day. You do the math. 1600 calories in a week just for coffee creamer. I quit it cold turkey last monday and now just use nonfat milk, guess what big time weight loss for me this week. Those little hidden liquid calories we use in our coffees add up. Be careful!

Do not get discouraged, the first 6 weeks is for healing and any weight loss during this time is a bonus, did your Dr. not tell you that? Once you start getting your fills the weight loss will happen, the band is designed to be filled to work its best. Hang in there

I would appreciate if we could keep this thread from being hijacked to a "weight gain challenge". This thread is for weight loss and those who are serious about the challenge I'm sure all of those in this challenge will agree. Thanks!

I was told one a day from my Dr. I took theFLinstone Vitamins forthefirst 2 months but now take the Centrum chewables, they tast so much beeter to me, not so vitaminy or tart.
-
Bigmom, when you go for your first fill, you Dr. will be able to tell you if there is something wrong with your port, he will either be able to get the needle in or not, If he does his fills inder flouro he will get a very good look at your port. Its probably just sore from all of the coughing I have port pain often, I have it right now, my port has been tender for 3 days now. Don't know why but it comes and goes. I'm not worried, I can feel my port pretty good since my weight loss. I'm sure yours is just sore from coughing, a bad cough can make your ribs sore so I imagine the port area would be sore as well.

My thought is , if this TV show has made you question whether or not you could do it without the band or question your decision on the band..are you sure you are ready for the band? Nothing or noone was going to sway me once I had made up mind . I get the impression you are confused. Or am I totally off base here?
