Great NSV! Going down a size always feels good. I'm so happy for you.
-
Nick, please tell your other half that you will still be able to go out and enjoy fine dining and eat the same foods you do now but in much smaller portions. This has not changed for my husband and I , we still go out to nice restraunts, I still order what I want, I just eat less and I have lost 90 lbs doing it in 1 year! Being afraid of the changes it may bring is also normal, but later on down the road your other half will love the new you and will reap the benefits of a new healthier you. Trust me! If it will make your other half feel better have him call my husband and he can shed a little light and offer some peace of mind to your other half. My husband loves the new me, we do so many more things together now, we go out more, we do things we have never done before in 13yrs of marriage. My kids are also loving their " new mom" Best of Luck to you

Dallasdoll, you have only been banded for 10 days? Lucky you, Iwas not onto solids until I was banded for 6 weeks. The band is designed to be filled with saline to work at it's best potential. Since you have not had a fill yet, this could be why you feel the band is not working. Once you start getting your fills, you will notice a difference and you will be greatful for all the practice you have gotten in with small bites and chew chew chew. The tigher you are filled the more you need to chew and the tinier bites you need to take. What you are experiencing is normal for a new bandster, just hang in there and you will see that the band does work once it is filled, it may take 1-3 fills before you notice a huge difference but it will happen

Paula, My PCP has me do it every 4 months, as a matter of fact I'm going in this morning for some blood work. It was back in December I had my last one. I like to have it done for my own peace of mind

Jenna I got that all the time in the beginning. Occassionally I still do and I am 1 year post op. When I asked Dr. Ortiz & Dr. Martinez about it , they told me it was normal, and that sometimes gas gets trapped around the port area around the tubing. Not to worry, you are normal. Over the last year of being banded I have heard this same thing from many many bandsters. But to make you feel better, you know you can call Dr. Martinez anytime on his cell phone and he will ease your mind so you are not freaking out

It is official, I am now in a size 10 pants What a thril this is for me, I can not remember the last time I wore a size 10. Went shopping yesterday and today and bought 3 pairs size 10 capris The scale has not moved much for me the last month or so but the inches are coming off. So for those of you who are discouraged the scale is not moving, do not fret, your probably losing inches..I'm living proof What I weigh is not as important as how I look & how I feel and right now I'm feeling pretty damn good!!! Just thought I share my fantastic NSV with all of you I LOVE MY BAND!!! 14 lbs to goal :banana

Are you able to keep liquids down Kathy without vomiting or PBing? One thing Dr. Ortiz & Martinez told me a sign or symptom of slippage was when nothing will stay down, if I vomit liquids or food constantly with nothing going down.. to be concerned about slippage. However some here have had slight slippage without these symptoms, I believe it was Leatha if my memory serves me correctly. You are doing the rightthing by going to the ER and having your local band doc take a look tomorrow...I'm hope you get good news and your band is fine

Hi & Welcome! Everybodys weght loss is different and at different paces. I had a BMI of 42 , 1 year ago on April 6th and weighed 265 and I have lost 86 lbs, my BMI is not 30.1 . Iam 5'5 It is best that I comapre myself to gastric bypass patients and their weght loss, they lose much faster then us bandsters but we have less complications & down time and less liquid phase, no malabsorption issues and no dumping syndrome and no re routing of our intestines, for me I will take the slower weight loss over all of that anyday! Just my opinion Good Luck to you, June will be here before you know it.
-
Maybe try replanting it in a bigger pot, they like lots of room,
-
You will be missed Vera Good Luck on the trial I hope it goes in your favor And huge congrats on the wieght loss, sounds like your new band is being your friend I'm happy for you that you finally have restriction, you have waited a long time for that to happen and have endured enough, glad you are all fixed up!

Is that a Jade plant? I have always called those rubber plants Those thing can grow again just by re cutting a piece off and sticking it in a pot. I have them all over my backyard. I have a really large one and when it gets to big I just cut it down and put the pieces in other pots around my yard.

How do you know if you are too tight?
La_madam replied to wanttobe110's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi Kirsten, there is a possibility that you are still swollen. My Dr. has his patients do 3 days of liquids after a fill for that reason. -
For me, I have never experienced that " Thanksgiving full" unbutton your pants you want to puke feeling since being banded. I have yet to feel really full, I just feel satisfied, I have distinguished in my head that now Iam eating to live, not living to eat. I do not eat to the point of being uncomfortable any longer, the band lets you know when it is time to stop, I have a full ( not uncomfortable full) signal in the form of an ice cream headache, others get the hiccups or pain in their shoulder or their nose runs. We all have different signals, it is just figuiring it out that takes some time. I have never PBed becasue I ate too much, I have only PBed because I did not chew enough or took too big of a bite or ate the wrong thing like doughy bread.

Great News Patti, your doctor knows best and you paid for his services as hard as it is, you will have plenty of time for fills. If you are losing steadily each week 1-3 lbs then you really do not need a fill, here is a great site on adjustments that will help you http://lapbandtransformation.com/Adjustments.htm

Hi Kelscross So glad you came out of lurking mode, I wish you the best with the approval of your insurance. I hope it is not tedious and time comsuming for you, some get approved rather quickly while other " play the gane" with insurance comapnies. Let's hope you do not have to wait too long Let us know what happens !
