    Not doing so well

Robyn, if this was what your nutritionalist told you then you should be OK, Remember there are several hundred people on this board and every single one of us has had different post op instructions, some got to eat 3 days after surgery, some went to soft foods within 48 hours of surgery, some had to wait 4 weeks for solids, etc.. the point is, with all of us having different instructions , we all have our bands in tact . . I was told by my Dr. that there is not set protocol for post op diet with the lap band every doctor adopts their own. If it will make you feel any better and less worry , put your mushy foods in the blender, drink them through a straw , you are still getting the nutrition and the caloric intake but less digestion process to go through if it is in liquid form. I'm sure you will be OK and Iam sure you are not the first person to call their nutritionalist to say they are struggling.. and Iam sure you are not the first person the nutritionalist told to move on to mushy foods, Your going to do great!

Tofu, beans, nuts, cheese, eggs, are a few
  5. WOW,you sure had a rough time of it today, Im sorry you had to go through all of that but look at it this way, as bad as your ordeal was, if you have good restriction with this new fill then you know your port is ok and did not flip which means he was able to access it. If you have no new restriction from this fill then I would call your Dr. and schedule a fill under fluoro, this way you can tell for sure what is up with your port. I would be pissed off too if my Dr. had no idea how much fill he just gave me. When you say 8 I am going to assume is was .8cc's not 8cc's. Let us know if you notice a difference from the fill.
  6. Nykee, How are you doing today? I have been thinking of you , I hope today has been a better day for you.

    Not doing so well

Robyn, have you tried gatorade, chicken broth, jello, popsicles, orange juice was a good liquid for me, it seem to keep me satisfied. Dont give up, you can get through this. What kind of protein drink are you drinking? Are you blending it with ice? That helps to keep full longer. Also try hot chocloate or hot teas. Hang in there , as much as it sucks, it is all worth it in the end We all have been where you are and we are all here to tell about it

  9. Nykee, Iam sorry to hear of all of this.. Dr. Ortiz had me go down and eat something as well one time before he sent me back across the border, it was my 2nd fiill, he told me the first fill may take some time to feel but the other fills there after should be felt right away. I ate and was fine and went on my merry way home. Call Dr. Ortiz or Martinez, let them know what is goin on Please keep us updated, and I hope you get relief soon

    Needing some guidance

Having more protein will help you from being so tired, by the looks of it, it does not look like you have the 60 reccomended grams of protein a day for us bandsters..try having another protein drink or two, lack of caloric intake can also make you tired so if you up the protein and calories it might make a difference. It's worth a try

When should i get a fill

Most Dr.'s want you to wait until atleast 6 weeks post-op. Here is a great site on getting fills once you have waited the 6 weeks or whatever your Dr.'s protocol is. SOme wait longer then 6 weeks if they are lsoing still and have some restirction still from the initial surgery. I had my first fill 9 weeks post op http://lapbandtransformation.com/Adjustments.htm

    Still hungry

7 days post op, there is nothing much to satisfy you. Protein drinks will help curb the hunger if it is true hunger, but if it is head hunger, I'm afraid it wont help much. When do you get to go to soft/mushy fooods? When do you start solids? During the liquid phase for me I drank alot of water to help me keep full or feel as if I was full. Hang in there, this is the toughest part but all worth it end the end

    OK, I am SOOOO confused....

The only thing I can say is that there are some foods that the band just does not restrict. Are you eating hard portein to stick in the pouch, when I was filled 2.5 cc's I could eat pizza no problems, it was one of those foods for me the band did not restrict, but if I was to eat a chicken breast at 2.5cc's Whoa I had restriction...What is is that you eat in a day? this is where the problem can be, Maybe it is the foods you are eating, just a thought Also, we all know the last few lbs to lose are always the hardest...you have done a fantastic job so far. I think alot of us also know after a year out we seem to become very complacent not following therules like we all did in the beginning. Maybe try going back to basics and the 10 bandster rules to help you get the last 18lbs off?

    weekly scale challenge

I stayed the same too this week..no gain though, but it may be time for me to get a fill since I have been running on empty the last month and a half I have only lost 4 lbs and those were most likely from my obstruction surgery. I had to come back and edit this post, after writing it and posting it, I just went to the ladies room and there it was, I started my monthly cycle, early this month which is odd cuz I am like clockwork and had no signs of PMS which is way out of the norm, so this could explain no wieght loss but fortunate to not of gained either This makes me feel better about no loss

    Today is my first fill

My fills have not hurt. Everyone is different though. As far as eating prior to your fill, every Dr. has a different set of rules. Mines requires no food 4 hours before a fill but liquids are OK. My first fill took about a week to kick in, the other two were instant! Again everyone is different. Good Luck, let us know how it went
  21. Megan You look beautiful. You have done a great job! keep it up Congratulations!
