If it were me I would not go on any jerky rides. It would be my fear my port would flip since I have not healed all the way from surgery. This is just what I would do.

New and Worried (Dr. Lopez)
La_madam replied to prettyone's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Yes this may be the case on theYahoo boards but I can assure you that each and everyone of the moderators on this board do not work for any Dr's and that is a fact! I'm not even a moderator and I know it to be true. Once you are here long enough youwill see for yourself that none of the moderators here work for any Dr. Hell one of the moderators here doesnt even like her original Dr! -
I had bouts of nausea post op for thefirst 2 weeks too

New and Worried (Dr. Lopez)

Prettyone, what Dr. might that be that you are referring to? I'm curious because the moderators here need to be aware of it if that is truly the case and take care of the situation -
That is great news, you are doing a fantastic job, Congratulations to you. I'm very happy for you Keep it up!

The pain in your back could be gas, many bandstrers experience that either in their shoulders or back soon after surgery. It is trapped, the best way to get rid of it is to walk walk walk.. and yes it should be getting better but you had the Jello episode that aggravated things, which most likely caused more swelling in the area that was all ready swollen
-
It is most likely pain from the swelling from surgery. I had that heavy pain in my chest, sternum and diaphram for a couple of weeks after surgery. As theswelling subsides it gets better, but you most likely irritated youresophagus during your episode last night, so stay on those liquids which could make the pain seem worse. If your band slipped this soon out of surgery, you would most likely not be able to get anything down without vomiting it back up, my guess is you are still very swollen and more som from the episode

Your 8 weeks post op Its early in this journey, don't fret. A flipped port is no big deal if that is the case for you, it gets fixed , you get filled and move on. Try not to let the bumps in the road discourage you. It has been 15 motnhs for me and in that time I had esophagitis for 3 weeks in November ( liquids only) then in April I had bowel obstruction and had to be unfilled for 2 months and had to have surgery for my bowel obsrtuction. Things happen dont lose your focus, it will take time but you will get there , remember this is not a race, it is a lifelong journey. The weight is never going to fall of sorry to have to say that but it is the truth. , it will come off slowly and gradually when your filled right and doing the right things. Hang in there, DONT GIVE UP! A question though, if your Dr. does her fills under flouro, didnt she not know she hit the port on your first fill? This is why they use flouro to see the port. Does she not use barium after the fill to see the barium flowing through the opening after she fills you to see if it worked? -
The first bites for me at every meal give me the same feeling, no matter how much I chew or how small the bite is, it is after the first few bites that I no longer have the tightness in my chest.
-
I had the exact same thing and was told by my Dr. it was caused from swelling in the diaphram area as the swelling goes down the burps will come out. They did!

Good for them and good for you for listening to them It is important while on this journey that us bandsters do not let the scale dictate our success or failures. We must think of all of the other possitive things that have been accomplished since our bands. What we weigh is just a small piece of the puzzle, what is more important is how we feel about ourselves and the great strides we have made to become happier and healthier people. You have done that so be proud and hang your head high! -
Brandi I was just like you in the beginning, but now I only weigh once a week if that. I found like you, thescalewould dictate my mood for theday. I also noticed I would sabatoge myslef. I have worked hard to not let what the numbers on the scale say dictate my success. I am now focused on the things in my life that have changed for the better since being banded. Try it, instead of jumpijng on the scale. Move thescal out of your bathroom for starters.

Banjanor hosp. /DR Alessandri ? HELP
La_madam replied to zoey's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
I have heard of Banjor but not of the Dr. I'm sure if you do a search on here using the keyword Banjor you may find some info What has made you look into Banjor? Is it the price in Mexico? Going to Mexico is a risk in itself so in my opinion you want the best and the most experienced in Mexico, cheapest is not always best..ask how many bands this Dr. has preformed, ask for references, call them. That is what I did when I went with the Dr. I chose to use in Tj, and he was not the cheapest by any means, I could of had it done for alot less in Tj but I went with experience as well. I have been extremely happy with my Dr. and his entire staff this past 16 months they have bee n there for me every step of the way and have gone above and beyond any care I have ever recieved here i nthe U.S. Best of Luck to you, I hope you find the info you are looking for -

Mental Hunger -- How to deal with it?
La_madam replied to Pamela218's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I grab a bottle of ice cold water, or I come here to LBT, Or I play games at pogo.com OR ride my stationary bike..all of those things work for me. -
My Dr. did NOT require a pre op diet so I ate every meal as it was my last for a month thinking I would never be able to enjoy food again, I couldnt of been more wrong. I still to this day enjoy food, all the foods I ate pre band except on occassion bread and pasta and rice. . Do what your head & heart tell you, only you know the answer to the question
