Great Nsv's. this is exactly what I mean when I say " do not let the numbers on the sclae dictate your success or failures with the band, think of all of the possitive things that you have accomplished since being banded

Sounds like a PB to me. After a PB most Dr.'s reccomend going on liquids for 24 hours so your esophagus does not get irritated and to let the swelling go down. I did not listen to those instructions and regretter it and had theworst case of Esophagitis ever! I know follow my Dr.'s instructions of liquids for 24 hrs after a PB, if you dont this could bewhy you PB often, it becomes a vicious cycle and most likely have swelling which makes it harde for the food to get through the band causing the stuck feeling, also my Dr. say you shouldnt be eating after 20 minutes, if you are stil leating after 20 minutes time to stop Hope some of this helps you Not good! Drinking with meals just pushes the food through the pouch quicker making you hungry quicker key with the band is to keep the pouch full for as long as possible and trust me one time you may not be so lucky and that drink you took will make you have the worst PB ever. I know thids from experience too

We all eat more in the evening..it is some kind of sciencve that none of us can figure out why we are tighter in the morning and wide oped in the evening. Your not alone
-
I know from my experience when it is humid my band gets real tight. Weather plays a role for me.
-
Fulll iquids is what my doc says..as long as it goes through a straw
-
Im sorry to hear about your dog but to answer your question If it were me I would wait ..I would hate to fall of the horse and risk my port flipping or band slipping. I was told no strenuous exercise or activity for 6 weeks until my band set in place and my port incision had time to heal and build up scar tissue to lessen the risk of it fliping or my band slipping. Just my opinion on it all

What do you miss most from pre band days?
La_madam replied to mercedes's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Not a thing..I love my weight loss and nothing I had to give up is worth the benefits I have from my band and weight loss -
My 2nd fill, Vanguard band and totally stressed!
La_madam replied to Ruthie's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
DOnt get discouraged..all you can do is go with it right now and prove him wrong. DO not go and get a smaller band, you may be successful..he doesnt know for certain you wont be. The Dr.s in Mexico in my opinion are more experienced then alot of the U.S. docs. I love my MX doc This is a lifelong journey there is no time table on when you have to lose this weight as long as you are going in the right direction and leading a happier healthier life is all that matters..I'm not at goal..I'm not stressed. I know I will get there one day. I'm not filled too tight I have 1.5 cc's in a 4 cc band and Im fine with it. Somedays I have to work at it and other days my band seems to do all the work. Patience is key here and just take things one day at a time is all you can do..dont get stressed. Have the mindset that this will take some time and you will do just fine I'm sure. -

I know of a woman who was banded with me in TJ who goes to a Dr. in her area in Seattle who prescribes diet pills for the pre -fill stage. SHe said they helped alot but no longer needed them once she got her fills.

Too tight fill again, here's the story...
La_madam replied to KarenB's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Karen, I'm sorry ot hear of your tight fill, but so happy to know you took the appropriate steps and called Dr. Martinez. I trust him completely with whatever he tells me and Iam sure you do too. I hope it subsides but if not you now know what to do I agree , and can not stress enough of not being too tight where you cant eat solids. The band was not designed for this kind of eating behavior and those who think they will lose weight because they are only drinking liquids are risking the longevity of their bands. I have a neighboor who lost her band to just this.. she was too tight for months and refused to go in for a slight unfill because she was loving the weight loss but guess what, her band slipped so bad that she had to have it removed and during the time she ignored all of this she became so anemic and he stomach became so damaged that she can not have a new band and has gained almost all of the weight she lost back, she is devastated and crys every day. Karen kudos to you for being a responsible bandster You know I wish you the best always -
Mine lasted 3 weeks

Everyones fill level is so different. For example I have had 2 fills in a 4 cc band and am at 1.5 cc's and it is just theright ammount of restriction for me, any tighter I would have problems. Some Dr.'s wil ltel you that it may take 1-3 fills before you hit the level of good restriction. As little as .2 cc's can make a huge difference in restriction. Also my fills take a week to really kick in, give it some time, your may take a week to kick in also if you notice NO change in a week or longer cal lyour Dr. let him know he may need to give you a little bit more Frr dinner tonight I had 1/2 of a dinner salad and my husband and I split an entree when we went out to dinner. I ate 1/2 of my 1/2 of the entree
-
Why too much? You have no fill yet, this is normal pre fill behavior The reason for NO restriction at all... Again NO fill yet.
-
Yes Prilosec OTc you can get at the pharmacy over the counter Prevacid & Nexium both in prescription They all are acid blockers. One tablet works all day long, much better then any antacid like Maloxx or tums or pepcid...Prilosec worked great for my gastritis, Prevacid worked great on my esophagitis and they all heal the esophagus as well
-
Some days restriction and some days none?
La_madam replied to nygrl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Everytime I thought I needed a fill I would call and schedule one and then the next day I would have restriction for a week or more so I cancelled 3 times for fills. I think for me it was anxiety of a fill I dont know but I expereinced the same thing you did. Once I realized it was in my ind and saw a pattern I went ahead with my fills. -
Hubby will be banded 9/24/05 - nervous!

Anyone near Max fill with alot of weight to lose?
La_madam replied to Kelliebelly's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
There is another thread about this here is the link http://www.lapbandtalk.com/showthread.php?t=9115 -
Sometimes it will take more then 1 fill to start feeling the restriction. Did your Dr.not tell you that?
