Bowling Coke or Pepsi?

If you could go back in time and give yourself advice after the op, what would it be?
La_madam replied to Pianoman's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hmmm.. 1. The band is a tool, not a magic wand, we have to do some of the work if we want the band to work it's best 2. Patience Patience Patience , the lbs are not going to fall off. There will be times you gain and times you plateau 3. Do NOT weigh everyday or more then once a day! -
Sending you good vibes that all is well on the 8th Hope you are having a great time in Cape Cod

Audrey, awesome job.. I love your attitude, that is very inspiring to me as my weight loss has come to a snails pace but I am happy and content with my 95 lbs lost in 16 months from a size 22 to a 10 and a BMI of 42 to a 29. I will not let the numbers scale dictate my success, your story has proven you have not either your attitude is fantastic!..Good for you! I'm very happy for you

Yes it is, my doctor told me eating after 20 minutes defeat s the purpose of trying to fill your pouch since after 20 minutes food is slowly falling through which means it will never get full if it is emptying as you eat. The 20 minutes has worked great for me. Once your filled right eating longer then that becomes a chore, atleast for me it does.

I dunno, I am still thinking I'm a fraud, and if I go, y'all will find out.

Vera, Proud of you girl! I know how important this NSV was to you. So happy you accomplished it

Usa a smaller fork, this forces smaller bites and slows you down. I use one of those little crab forks, it works great Once you get your fills, you'll be lucky to eat for 30 minutes before you know you are done..I was told 20 minutes but every doctor is different.

Glad to hear you are OK Paula

My first thought would be slippage, but you say your band is in place. Do you vomit everyday after every meal? Will anything stay down? Vomiting with liquids and food could be a sign of slippage from what I was told by my Dr. Let us know how it goes today at the doctor

DeeJay read the link below, of course it is normal to be hungry you have NO Fill!!! http://www.lapbandtalk.com/showthread.php?t=9148&highlight=struggling -

-
You are normal.. Not many of us here who were not nervous. You will get throughit just fine and afterwards look back and ask yourself " What was I so worried about" Good Luck to you
-
Yes Yes Yes..I will keep them in my thoughts. I hope Paula and family will get through this OK and any other LBTer who lives in the danger zone

Exactly!!! Trust me you are not alone there are days when I do the same thing but the great thing about the band, you still eat less crap food then pre band. Tomorrow is a new day and not much damage was done. waske up tomorrow with good intentions take one meal at a time, one day at a time. You can do this. You know what to do to get out of this funk..

For me top try diet pills, weight watchers, jenny craig while banded defeats the purpose of getting the band. Itired all of those things pre band..had initial resylts but to me the band is a permanent weight loss. I fell like I will never be overweight again. It has changed my life, it has never felt like I was on a diet. That is the greatestthing, losing wieght and still enjoying food.

Has anyone had Plastic Surgery on their Arms?
La_madam replied to "with the band"'s topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
If I were to have any plastic surgery done..my arms would be the one place I would -
Maybe I was eating too much fat in my diet
-
I took Xenical pre band..it is a messy medication Your toilet always has an orange greasy fatty ring around it since it blocks the fat out of your dietand comes out the other end in orange oily blobs. I also had to always be close to a bathroom..NOT good for me. I did not like it one bit!

New to site-waiting on ins. approval
La_madam replied to Mikie in VA's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi Mikie Welcome to LBT..that is the best site in my opinion. Lots of love & support here. I wish you the best on your insurance approval. I hope they approve you and you can get going on a happier healthier life -
Come right out and ask him if your weight bothers him make him accountable, mention you overheard him talking about weight and ask him if he was referring to you . Best to be straight up front from the get go..tell him you felt a little awkwardness coming from him the moment the two of you met and you wanted to get things out in the open now before you begin your close working relationship. This is what I would do..no sugarcoating it one bit! Shoot from the hip!
