They key is patience Read this thread, it may help you some http://www.lapbandtalk.com/showthread.php?t=9148 Hang in there, you will get there you'll see, patience my friend, patience.

I'm making this for dinner tonight..I will let you know the verdict fro mthe family.

Actually it is golden mushroom soup but you can replace it with cream of celery coup, I do this exact same recipe with cream of celery instead of the golden mushroom , it is just as good..just a different color and a different taste but still delicious., this one I reccomend serving over rice though.

Good Luck Julie, hope all goes well today with your fill

For those of us who are tight in the morning ..protein shakes work good.. For me I drink two cups of hot coffee, it seems to open me up a bit, then i eat scrambled eggs with cottage cheese..or scrambled eggs with turkey sausage links..or a veggie omelette..however though I get up at 3:30 am and am at work by 5:00 am and I eat around 9:00 am so I have been up for over 5 hours before I eat. My experience has been that if I eat any kind of cereal or oatmeal..it does me in for the day..the carbs kill me and make me crazy hungry all day long, so I eat no carbs for breakfast , strictly Protein, it keeps my hunger at bay most of the day and keep my pouch full longer.

Hi Puddin, First Congrats on your new band! As far as the Gas..everyone is different. Mine lasted for about 2 week but each day it got better and better. Walk Walk Walk, that is the best medicine you can give yourself for the gas..get up and get to walkin, it helps to move it around and get it out! The more you sit around the worse it gets..

Hi Claudia Welcome to LBT Who is doing your surgery in Mexico? You can email Don Mills at Inamed and ask him to email you a list of Dr.'s in your area, then you will have to call each and everyone of them to see if they will take on patients who were banded in Mexico, unfortunately many US docs dont and the ones the do will charge alot more for their services. If you are not planning on going back to MX , I reccomend you get a Dr. lined up to take care of your aftercare prior to leaving for MX, I have seen many who have not done this and have been forced to go back to MX but I have also seen many who went back to MX because the cost of flying back was cheaper then what the US doc was going to charge. Best of Luck to you His email address is Don.Mills@inamed.com

Bad News ...I will not be able to make the trip, my husband is having some health problems right now and I do not feel comfortable being that far away from home ..Sorry, I was so looking forward to it

For me, all of the good that has come from my band and my weight loss totally out weighs any bad that has happened to me. and I have had the bad. I have had a few complications, like gastritis, esophagitis and complete bowel obstruction with surgery to fix it but I would do it all over again in a second. I'm much happier and much much healthier since my band wouldn't trade it for anything

Curious about my new band and bread
La_madam replied to sunnykim's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Many of us can NOT eat bread with proper restriction. Bread that is toasted well goes down easier for me at times, not all the time You are not alone... -
Daaammmmnnn! You look GOOD

The verdict is in, the family loved them, they enjoyed them with sour cream on top and the refired beans were an added touch. Yummy, it will nowbe in my monthly rotation of meals..Tomorrow night I'm trying the chicken casserole that was posted last week.

A couple of post op questions for the pros
La_madam replied to stevie's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Every Dr. has different post op instructions, for example I was not able to have Protein drinks until 10 days post op. It is best to just listen to your own Dr. and follow his instructions. Congrats on your new band -

La_madam replied to choldren's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I got the sideaches all the time..I'm 17 months post op and I still get them from time to time, asked the doc and he told me I was normal, not to worry so I dont! -
Hoping and praying to find a way to pay for this
La_madam replied to a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Barb if you are going to Mexico, many of the Dr.s there offer financing. I had my surgery done in TJ and I financed $2000 of it and paid cash for therest. My payments were 127 a month, I have paid it off. Best of luck to you, when there is awill there is a way. Dont give up!! -
If it were me I would remove the gallbladder first, heal up and then see if you are having the same problems, it may be just gallbladder. If not then have the band removed. I would hate to lose my band if I did not have too, and if the Dr. was not 100% sure and he only thinks it was the reason for my problems. If he is not 100% SURE and only thiks it may be the reason I would dothe gallbladder first, My Dr. would have to know, NOT think it was the problem. Has he ran any tests? Endoscopy etc?

Hi Welcome to LBT Congratulation on your upcoming surgery. 10 days of clear liquids seem abnormal, most pre- op diets have some kind of Protein drinks. Are you sure he said "clear liquids"? Well, here to a happier & healthier new you !
