I know my new obsession about new underwear is I feel SEXY for the first time in a long time..between the Slumber Party items and my new undies, losing 95 lbs, it's no wonder I feel sexy! I have bought 16 new pairs of underwear in a week, 4 of them thongs. The other 12 are bikinis which is something else I have never worn, I have always worn Jockey French Cut briefs, never bikinis, my tummy doesnt even hang over them..I love it! Cute colors, cute patterns, I wish I could go to work everyday just in my underwear to show them off

I bought my first thong! Never in a million years did I think I would ever wear a thong, not just becuase of my weight but how I percieved it would feel...Boy was I wrong! It was the most comfortable piece of undewear I have ever worn, so I just went out and bought 3 more thongs! My kids think that " moms" should not wear thongs. You know the best part about it, I got them for 99 cents each and they are wicked cute!

I hope for you it is different then for me..I wish it were that easy for me. I have lost 95 lbs and now am in a size 10. started in a size 22. I still see an obese woman when I look in the mirror, it has been an image I have seen for so many years, it is very hard for me to see myself any other way. I sitll find myself going to the plus size department when shopping for clothes. I know Im not obese due to the size Iam in and what the BMI chart says but it is still hard to get it out of my head.

La_madam replied to bayteelee's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Alot of us did the exact same thing but just know once you are banded you can still enjoy your favorite restaraunts. You can still enjoy food, this is the best thing about the band, you get to lose weight and still enjoy food. Just less of it is all. -
How easy/hard is it to change your habits?
La_madam replied to sleepyjean's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have a few old habits but most have gone astray..I cant explain it but this time I honeslty feel I will never put this weight back on again, maybe this band was my last resort and I was finally ready after 38 yrs of battling this demon I was once and for all going to succeed and not look back. No bad habit was going to stop me from losing weight My main reason was I did not want to be fat at 40, instead I want to be fit at 40, I'm 39 , will be 40 in April I started this journey 3 weeks before my 38th birthday and Im no longer morbidly obese Im in the normal BMI range. To me that is fit! It is obvious to me I have changed some of those old bad habits or I wouldnt be here 95 lbs lighter, the band did not do all of the work, I worked with my band, we worked together to get where I am today. I have 1.5 cc's in my band, that is less then 1/2 way full so I must be doing something right. -
Erin, What a great post, thank you for sharing it with us, finally an understanding to al lthe tightness we all experience in the mornings.

Two Brithday threads, Unprecidented ! Happy Birthday Lisa, sounds like your day is going great!

Some of the most perfect bandsters here have had erosion or slippage, it has nothing to do with being a good bandster or not! Erosion happens and no one knows why. Nykee, I'm tight in the morning too, all I can say is I drink hot hot coffee, it opens me up, anything cold closes me up. Try the hot liquids in the mornings and the ice ice cold Water in the evening. At night keep an ice cold bottle of water with you at all times, we all know water curbs hunger and cold water helps to tighten us up. You are not the only one who suffers from this problem, I do too, but I have managed to lose weight. it takes discipline and will power to some degree, the band will not do all of the work, we have to do some of it. I bet if you took a poll and asked how many of us have eating issues at night almost all of us here would answer yes! You can do this!

Hey Lisa, Happy Birthday, hope you have a wonderful day!

Do I tell the Ex that I had it done?
La_madam replied to Kathy473's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
None of her business, she is the EX wife of your husband, you owe her nothing! Regardless of how your relationship is with her. -

General question about going to Mexico
La_madam replied to sleepyjean's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
I too went with Dr. Ortiz & Martinez in TJ and have no regrets either. I did not have to be approved as long as my pre op tests came back good I was good to go. -
Great chocolate snack that's healthy!
La_madam replied to Dianechef's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I love chocolate too, it is my weakness...I eat the Yoplait Whips, they have a new chocolate flover, chocolate cherry and chocolate rasberry too, it tastes like chocolate mousse and only 160 calories, I'm going to have to try the chocolate covered bananas , I eat 1 banana everyday -
I cheated the system....starting over..wish me luck!
La_madam replied to KRZYGIRLNSTL's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Krystal, good for you for coming here and asking for support and admitting to it all, thats half the battle, none of us are perfect bandsters, heck last night I ate an ice cream drumstick and resses peanut butter cups, I need chocolate on the day my period starts which was yesterday (TMI) Just get back up and get back to basics, you can do this! Come here often, read, post, get the support you need. We are all here pulling for eachother to succeed. -
Erin, my girlfreind had to have her prot removed for the exact same thing two weeks ago, she was in tremendous pain, and inthe hospital for 10 days w/ a fever and on morpheine for pain they could not figure out why the pain, the ran every test but an endoscopy so she went back to MX to her original Dr. and he did an endoscopy to find out the excruciating pain she was in was an absess under her port. She had to have it removed and a drain put in to get the remaineder of the fluid and her port was removed....There is also Delarla here who is the Master of port porblems and infections, send her a PM she will reply. Sorry you are going through this but glad to see you are doing better and took control with your Dr.

Grilled fish and peanut butter....
La_madam replied to banded_for_life's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I eat peanut butter all the time on a spoon or on a piece of cheese or on a banana cant do the oatmeal though it make me hungreir, to many carbs , all I do is crave more carbs if I eat oatmeal and it goes through my band to quickly, not solid enough -
I have not lost anything for a long time either can I join? :think

Very Well said Jack! Chicagoboy, have you tried writing down everything you eat to see just how much you are consuming? you may be suprised to see how much you are eating. I started logging all of my food here in the food journal thread. It really does help, or try tracking it on Fitday.com to see just how many calories you are consuming? We have to do some of the work and not rely on the band 100%..I can eat certain foods all day long not matter how tight Iam, there are certain foods the band will not restrict and those just happend to be all of the junk foods we all love , chocolate & ice cream , cheetos etc.. Maybe try writing down what you eat for a couple of days so you can actually see it in black and white , it may help you seeing it in front of you, I know it does for me, when I journal I make better choices, no question about it

Even i n Mexico where the pre op tests are either done the same day of surgery or the day before surgery I had to see a pulmonologist
-
I had BC of California and was denied, I had a BMI of 42 and no co- morbitities, I was a healthy fat person basically. I'm happy I chose MX, or I'd most likely stil lbefighting with them and still 95 lbs heavier if not more
