    Frustrated...

I can so relate to this, we have done the same thing with our youngest son who had cancer, he missed out on 4 yrs of his life so we have been making it up to him ever since, but I now realize I have created a monster. I feel your frustration. One day at a time is all I do..I have made some changes and they are working. I work hand in hand with his teacher to correct any behavioral problems he may have we have a system where the teacher sends me home a slip everyday telling me whether my son stayed on task or not and turned in his work and was focused or not , if NOT he has consequences, if he stays on task he gets rewards..it is working beautifully. My son enjoys being rewarded for his good behavior then punished for his bad behavior. It can be a reward something as simple as getting an hour more TV time, or 1 hour more to stay outside and play..or a new video game at the end of the week...or dinner out with just me and dad ( no brothers) anywhere of his choice. My son is a very active child who loves to play outside and he is always doing something, he is the most popular 6th grader in his school, onme of my punishments is no computer no cell phone, no instant messenger, n ogoing out with his friends on Friday or Saturday nights to the arcade ot the movies. that kills him so he is really focusing on behaving so he does not lose privledges..Good luck and hang in there and know you are not alone

    I need some help!

If it is McDonalds you need, go to their web site and print out their menu with all of the items on it and how much each items has in calories, it's about choices basically, you can eat fast food and still lose weight. My brother and I just sat last night and looked at the McDonalds menu and all the calories in each item since that is where my family wanted dinner from ,you may be suprised to find that some of the salads have just as many calories as the burgers do. Like Vines said, dont beat yourself up, you are still eating less then pre -band. You have recognized and confessed to the problem.. You can do this!

I'm in the 100 lb club.. FINALLY!!!

Thanks everyone..I went out and celebrated by shopping..bought myself 2 new pairs of shoes ( with heels) never have I worn heels! , 6 new pairs of pants ( capri's) and 6 new shirts. I'm extremely happy and extremely excited to finally have lost 100 lbs. I have set a new goal... I would like to lose 15 more to make me 150. I can not express enough how patience is so vital during this journey..for several months I saw no weight loss on the scale but still was achieving NSV's daily..but when the two come together it is fantastic! For those struggling, dont give up, dont get frustrated.I'm here to tell you it will happen if you work with your band. Thanks to all of you for all of your support throughout

    Female Question...

It works great but be prepared to get groggy, it is like a natural valium for me..I take it before I go to the dentist to calm my nerves or when I have insomnia too
  14. To take smaller bites..Get yourself a small fork, like a crab fork they give you when you order crab at a restatraunt, it helps me so much to take small bites and small bites are easier to chew real good. Less Pb's

Dating after/during weight loss (for Kare)

What a true statement! I know this will sound bad since Im a married woman but I have a crush on a new cook I hired 3 weeks ago. This man makes my heart beat fast, I get butterflies when he looks at me, What is wrong with me? These feelings are exciting to me, I would NEVER act on them, I have a wonderful husband who is the best kisser in the world and I am his Queen, he loves me like NO other man ever will and I know this 100%, he is tender, caring, loving, compassionate, kind But this other man I actually look forward going to work and seeing him..I think it is phermones, it's got to be! Just as much as Iam attracted to him he is attracted to me..it sure makes work fun!
  24. I'm sure all of you see the commercials for dairy and weight loss 3 servings a day of dairy will help aid in weight loss, Well I'm here to tell you it works. As many of you know I have not seen the scale move for a long long time some of it from my own doing and some of it not..I decided once I got back from Vegas I was going to focus on the 3 a day theory and plus the calicuim is suppossed to help reduce symptoms of PMS so I thought what the heck lets give it a try, I started with 1200 mg of a Calcium supplement to help with the PMS symptoms and then taking my 3 a day servings of dairy, usually a Protein drink in the morning, a yogurt in the afternoon as a snack and a glass of milk before dinner.. I got on the scale this morning and have lost 4 lbs since Monday, I have been doing this religiously since Sept 12, it finally has paid off, , and to top it off my period cam very unexpected this past week, I had ZERO symptoms of PMS and minimal cramping which is huge for me since I have horrible cramps every month and am a raging Bitch the week before my period where the first 2 days I can barely function. I can honestly say I really think it works! Iam now 1 lb from being in the the Century Club!...1 lb from GOAL!!! Here is some info from the www.3aday.org web site Dairy and Weight Loss Q: What does the science say about dairy's role in weight loss? A: Clinical studies indicate that dairy foods have a positive effect on weight loss. In fact, research shows including 3 daily servings of milk, cheese or yogurt as part of a reduced-calorie weight loss plan can help adults achieve lose more weight by burning more fat than just by cutting calories with little or no dairy. * A recent study published in Obesity Research showed that people on a reduced-calorie diet who consumed 3 servings of milk, cheese or yogurt each day lost significantly more weight and more body fat than those who just cut calories while consuming little or no dairy. Q: How/why do dairy foods help you lose more weight and burn more fat? A: The mix of nutrients found in dairy foods, especially calcium, may be responsible for helping the body break down and burn fat. Studies have reported that dairy foods exert a significantly greater effect on body weight and fat loss than calcium supplements. While more research is needed to fully understand the dairy and weight loss connection, the unique nutrient package in dairy may be a key contributor to dairy's superior effect. In particular, the distinctive Proteins in dairy may explain the greater weight and fat loss when dairy is included in a reduced-calorie diet. Q: Is 3-A-Day of Dairy all you need to lose weight? A: No. Losing weight requires cutting the calories taken in and boosting the calories used through exercise. No matter how people choose to cut calories, they can harness the power of dairy by enjoying 3 servings of milk, cheese or yogurt each day. Q: Do all dairy foods help you lose weight? A: Most of the studies conducted to date included milk, cheese or yogurt, including fat free, lowfat and regular varieties. Due to the role calcium and dairy protein are believed to play in weight loss, milk, cheese and yogurt products must contain at least 20% of the Daily Value for calcium and 10% of the Daily Value for protein to meet the 3-A-Day and weight loss qualifications.
