Havent shopped at Lane Bryant in years..I used to get my plus size clothing at Wal-Mart...Target or Kohls.. Kohls is now my favorite store, I love there clearance racks. It is so nice to shop in normal size section but hard to get used too I still find myself heading for the plus size department even though I'm in a size 10

I'm doing great, it has been 18 months for me and I have lost 100 lbs. I was at a very long plateau for months but have started to lose again as of last week. I do not exercise as much as I should ...my eating is much better these days and I journal my food everyday which I feel has helped break my plateau. I dronk 100 oz of water a day I have set a new goal of 15 more lbs which will put me at my lowest weight that I can remember - 150 lbs. I LOVE MY BAND!

Now that you are on solids, you may see s slight wieght gain but not to worry this is so normal...your body will ned a few days to adjust to the new food it is getting, once that happens you may see the scale going in the downward direction again, you have no fill which means no restriction, so be patient once you get your fills and the band works like it was meant to work things will change. This is not a race we have a lifgetime to lose this weight, enjoy your band

Robyn, sorry to hear you are not feeling good, but have you had your iron levels checked lately..I just had mine checked becasue of the sametiredness you just explained. My levels were low and my Dr. told me my tiredness couldbe from that, since then I have taken vitamin B-100 complex 2x's a day and upped my iron intake and I have noticed a huge difference in just days....also you have been through alot in the last 2 weeks, coming off those pills after so many months will take its toll on you physically..I know this first hand also due to my husbands own dependency on pain pills. Give your self some time ...but then again it could be from possible pregnancy which if that is the case then Congratulations.

Nykee, lots of liquids calories in there girl...have you thought of replacing some of those sugary liquid calories with protein drinks, atleast you would be getting in your protein while drinking the liquids. I understand you are too tighr and this is why all the liquids but by adding protein will only help in your weight loss and you will not be loosing lean muscle mass, your intake does not look like 60 grams of protein by any means..losing weight without eating adequate protein only makes us lose lean muscle mass which in the end makes us flabby. Just a thought

My feelings exactly..I only weigh on Mondays PERIOD! We have a weekly sclae challenge here, join it and post your weight weekly. It does help to only weigh once aweek, otherwise you obsess about it. GLo dont get discouraged if you see a gain from full liquids to solids either, this it normal. Once your body adjusts to the new ammount of calories , you should start losing again

Glo, did you go from liquids to solids? This could be why you are seeing a weight gain..most of us here oncewewent from liquids to either mushy or solids saw a weight gain, it is only normal. Do not worry, this is just the first few weeksm focus more on healing, once you get your fills, things will change. I know it is frustrating but you are normal.

How many CCs was your first fill??
La_madam replied to Bensmum1109's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My first fill was 1.1 cc's it worked great for me for about 2 months then I had another fill. -
I was told by my Dr. to not eat after 20 minutes..taking an hour to eat defeats the purpose of filling the pouch, the pouch will start to empty before the hour is up...so your pouch is emptying as you are still eating, does that make sense?Smaller bites will help it to beless painful..get yourself a small fork to help you to take smaller bites, this theory really does work, it is what I do, I have a crab fork, I take small bites.

I CAN'T BURP... and I think it's hindering my success!
La_madam replied to thechatrooper's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Lisa have you ever had an Endoscopy? I had one and it was determined I had gastritis..and I got great relief from making myself burp also 2 of the symptoms, was " feeling of fullness" and the air sensation you explain. The most common symptoms are abdominal upset or pain. Other symptoms are belching, abdominal bloating, nausea, and vomiting or a feeling of fullness or of burning in the upper abdomen. I was told many bandsters have gastritis and do not even know it, since there is no reflux or heartburn. I had zero symptoms until I was unfilled then I had all of the symptoms..I was suprised to know I had gastritis. I only found out from the endo they did during my bowel obstruction surgery. Not saying you have gastritis, but if this continues to be a problem call your D.r and have an endo, it for nothing else but good measure and band care. -

La_madam replied to ElieMaeHolliday's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
SOunds to me like Gas..I still get trapped gas pains and Iam 18 months post op. The only remedy for me for gas it to walk walk walk and take a few Gas X -
We all fall off the wagon...I'm 18 months postop and have fallen off, the key is to know when to get back up! The great thing about the band is those times when you have fallen off the wagon, NOT much damage is done! So you had 1 slice of pizza, bet you it is about 3-4 less slices then you would of eaten had you not had your band. Do not get down on yourself..tomorrow is a new day...PROTEIN Protein PROTEIN..You can do it!

Nykee..that is fantastic news! I am so happy for you. Way to go girl on the wieght loss.. If all this is happening then I say you are doing OK with your band, just try and stray from the junk which you seem determined to do...One day at a time Nykee is all you can do! Congratulations

I do not burp either.. -
Here is an excerpt from the Inamed handbook that is valuable to your situation With the Lap Band system in place, you should be able to eat only small ammount so the food you eat should be as healthy as possible. Do not fill your stomach pouch with :junk: food that lacks Vitamins and other important nutrients. Your meals should be high in Protein and vitamins and low in carbs. solid food is more important then liquid food or soft food. The lap Band system will have little or no effect if you only eat liquid or soft food. It passes through the stomach outlet very quickly and does not make you feel full. Here is another excerpt form the book If the adjustment (fill) results in too tight of a stomach opening you could have a hard time eating most foods, sometimes this causes people to avoid solid foods. They may drink liquid meals or soft food meals and this may result in weight gain. A band that is too tight may cause reflux symptoms and can also cause frequent vomiting. Sounds to me that your band may be a tad too tight..you should be able to eat solidsand still lose weight. Having as little as .1 or .2 cc's removed will give you releif and able to eat solids while still lose weight..a band that is too tight is at greater risk of slipping.. if it were me I would call my doctor and have a small ammount of saline removed.

How much protei nare you drinking? How many grams? More portien will help with the shakes and the dizziness. I had the same problem 8 days post op. If it were me I wouls stick to the progrma and not do mushys til Monday per your Dr.'s orders..up the protein drinks, maybe some watered down blended soups will help.
