Some go away, they become complacent with their bands, some no longer need the support, some have failed and are afraid to come back and some have reached their goal weight and no longer feel the need to post ...I for one, need the support of the boards, regardless of where I'm at in this journey..I believe the boards been very helpful tool to my success.

How did you determine your goal weight?
La_madam replied to Wheetsin's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My biggest determining factor was that I did not want ot be fat at 40..I had my surgery 3 weeks before my 38th birthday so I had to two years to get this fat off..I'm now 39, will be 40 in April and I now will be fit at 40! My Dr. told me 90 lbs but I am going strong still and have lost 102.5 in 18 months..I'm going for another 12.5 lbs to make me at 150 lbs for a total loss of 115 lbs. -
Amen to that! I agree...I may not look as sexy as a supermodel but I feel damn sexy ...sexier then I ever have felt in my life with this weight gone forever! It's all in the attitude Great Picture Lisa..you look Wicked Sexy and thank you for this post and reminding us al that we are all sexy in our own way

Megan, what an inspiring post...thank you for sharing it.. You have done an amazing job with your band. I can feel your happiness. Congrats on a job well done!
-
Brenda..what an accomplishment! Job Well done We want a picture

I guess I'm lucky then..my scars are so minimal..I can barely see them with NO make up or Scar cream. My Dr. must have a fabulous technique. Why endorse another product if they have the band, none of those celebs need the endorsement money just to be dishonest

magical lapband.. has anyone else experienced this?
La_madam replied to Nykee's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Nykee, WOW Thanks for all of that! I can only speak for me..I know for me that when my restriction level is good..I do not even think about food. It is the strangest thing..there is NO obsession on when I'm going to eat again or what am I going to eat. ..sometimes I forget to eat. The last month my 1.5 cc's have been great restriction for me..I have been at 1.5 level since the end of June and had not lost any weight but the month of October I have lost 7 lbs and it is only the 3rd week of October...something has changed. I'm very happy for you..sure sounds like things are finally working out for you. -
Kirstey Alley is the Jenny Craig spokesperson, she has lost all of her weight on the Jenny Craig program..havent you seen her commercials, and didnt you see her on Oprah praising Jenny Craig diet plan?

UHC is one of the fastest when it comes to approval..glad you decided to go with the band over the RNY...I do not think you will regret your decision, especially if you want more children like you stated in your other thread.. Good Luck
-

Here is a goodsite that may help you to answer that question..for me I know alot of the time it isan attitude adjustment instead of a band adjustment http://lapbandtransformation.com/Adjustments.htm

what is so wrong with diet coke?
La_madam replied to heatherfeather's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Carbonations has been said to stretch the pouch, it is also very painful to drink..it also causes major gas pains because of the gasses used in it. Some have even said it could cause erosion of your band...to me it is not worth the risk of having it..My Dr. said NO CARBONATION ever again! -

John, you look fantastic.. Thanks for sharing all of this with us, it sure does make me think. I too am happy with where Iam in my weight loss journey, if I never lose another pound and I can maintain this loss, then I have won the battle. One day at a time!

So I went on a Gastric bypass site and...
La_madam replied to jillrn's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Its part of the process.. all GB patients disagree with the band and all band patients disagree with the GB...Plain and simple. I personally have seen to many people with major complications with the GB..I'm very happy I have the band. I have been very successful! -
you most likely have swelling which makes anything difficult. I had a PB last week that lasted for 4 hours and experienced the same thing, I did liquids for 2 days and it was better. you need to let the swelling subside...stay with the thinner liquids. If the heartburn continues cal lyour Dr. you made ned a little fill removed to give the stoma a rest and heal from the PB episode and you want to rule out any slipp the PB may have caused. Heartburn can sometime mean a small slip or too tight of fill. Dont want to scare you but those are the facts. Hope you feel better soon

I do not normally count calories, I pretty much know what I'm taking in..I do snack on occassion, it is easier to not snack when you have the proper fill level. Without it it can be difficult. Many U.S. docs are more consewrvative on their fills they really want you to work the band and creep up on restriction where as MX docs fill you to a higher capacity quicker so you can reach restriction quicker. We do have to do some of the work, there is no doubt about it...the rule of thumb is if you are following the rules and not losing in 3 consecutive weeks you may need a fill ..if you are losing 1-3 lbs a week then you are doing great!

Benet, there are several men here who have been banded..the is Jack, Greg, Ryan and others too. Welcome to LBT..Congratulations to you on your new band I hope you have lotsof success. Glad you found us here

Dont beat yourself up..the good thing about the band is ...tomorrow is a new day, you may be suprised what the scale reads, whenever I think I over did it, I see no gain and sometimes even a loss..One day at a time my friend is all we can do. Get back up on the band wagon...we all fall off of it occassionaly
-
Andrea, best of luck tomorrow, I hope everything goes smoothly for you
