I wish I could say YES to that question, but the antidepressant was the start of my weight gain. I had lost 100 lbs when I was 29 yrs old and kept it off for 5 years, then I had tragedy hit my family in a big time way and I was prescribed Paxil, it worked great for what I was going through but I gained 75 lbs in a year, not changing what I had been doing in the last 5 yrs prior to taking it. My Dr. told me the anti depressants slow down your metabolic rate to almost zero..I have to say he was right! I stopped taking it, then looked into the band and here I am banded 18 months at my lowest weight in my adult life. Margo, I went through the same symptoms once I weened myself off of the Paxil, I rode out the storm and once all of the meds were completely removed from my body , things got better. It's a tough transition but in the long run well worth it, alot of my depression was coming from my weight gain, losing weight has been fantastic for my depression..actually what depression? I'm no longer depressed, happier then I have been in years.Hang in there, give it some time. Did you gain weight with the prozac?

I am 18 months post op..I have lost 102.5 lbs. I have gone from a size 20-22 to a size 10. I have gotten my life back. My husband has gotten his wife back and my children have gotten there mother back, those 3 reasons alone I well worth it to me..The band has been the best thing I have ever done for myself. I would do it over again in a second! I have NO regrets. I LOVE MY BAND! -

Chloe looks great ..she looks very happy and so well groomed, he hair is darker. What a cutie..so happy to hear things are going so good for her, its not her fault her mother is a lunatic, glad to know her daddy and step mom stepped up to the plate and took responsibility and are showing her what a loving/ normal family is all about

If I'm losing my Dr. will not even consider giving me a fill.. you are right, if it aint broke dont fix it! Fills are for when you have stopped losing and are eating more then a third of what you used to while following the bandster rules!

Some of my fondest childhood memories are on Halloween, maybe this is why it is my favortie day of the year. My mother always made us grilled cheese sandwiches and homemade chili for dinner before we went out trick or treating...so for the last 15 yrs I have been doing it for my 3 boys....this is just one of my memories as a child and tradition that I keep alive

I agree with Kathy.. Go on Vacation, enmjopy yourself. You do nto want to get a fill and get there and have problems, climate, altitude changes the restriction I have noticed. Play it safe..get a fill after hawaii

Be careful to NOt do it again until your Dr. tells you too.. Yes there is a risk of eating solids too soon before your Dr. allows. The reason is the digestion process. even though your food went down OK and you had not problems, that is not the issue, it iswhat goes on after that, the digestion. The band needs to set into place , anchor in if you will..and any food needing to be digested too soon is not good. There is a lot of rumblinmg, churning and turnin that goes on down there during digestion. I was told that if Iate solids too son, I could risk my band slipping since it has not anchored in properly within the first 3 weeks. Scar tissues needs to form to keep it in place..The sopup may not be a problem but if you are eating other solids, if it were me I'd stop and continue to follow my Dr.s instructions. I know it is tough but we all made it through to tel labout it, and the reward is so worth it Good Luck and hang in there -
Yeah...I can officially join the 100+ club...I'm so excited!

Where do you live, I have a brother who is looking for a nice woman, weight is not an issue with him. He has just lost over 100 lbs himself so he knows the struggle. He is the greatest man and very handsome too.I do not understand why he can not find himself a good woman. He has a good job, makes good money, loves kids. Has a good tender heart. If I was single he would be my kind of man!

I have an anxiety disorder..actually if anything my weight loss with my band has helped with my anxiety..but my older son suffers from panic attacks and just started the Zoloft..glad to hear others here take it and find relief.

It's always noice to know of a Dr. who wil ltake on patients who were banded in MX, there are not many of them out there, thanks for sharing the info..I'm fortunate to live close to Tj but others are not so fortunate. How are you doing by the way Lins?
-
It all depends on who your insurance is and if they cover it or not..If you are a self pay you can be scheduled in as little as a week or sooner. I shceduled mine very quiickly, I went to MX for mine and was a self pay.

For me a growling tummy means I'm hungry..Damn hungry! I usually eat when I hear that growl..but I have to remember to eat slow or I will be a raveged beast and shovel the food and then I get stuck..then the pain, then I'm done! pre band I would never wait til my tummy growled, it is a nice change and a nice sound..
