Feel like I am killing myself from the inside out

Girls Girls Girls, you both sound too tight to me, you both need a slight unfil, the band was not designed to live on liquids alone, read your lap band handbook, it clearly states if you are living on liquids you are too tight. the reason you feel like crap is you are most likely dehydrated and not getting any Protein which oinly makes you lose lean muscle mass and not fat. Protein is key to losing fat, not enough of it only reslults in loss of lean muscle mass which results in flab. Also having a band too tight can lead to many other things like slippage, esophagitis, reflux, none of these are good for the longevity of your band, both of you need to be responsible bandsters and call your Dr's, this is not a race, it is a journey the band is a lifelong tool use it wisely. I can guarantee you both that if you called your Dr's and told then what you are telling us they both would say get in for an unfill. Having as little as .2 cc's removed can make the biggest difference in being able to eat solids but yet still lose weight. Giveyouthemoon is right, carbs and sugar only make you crave more carbs and sugar not to mention liquids go right through the band they offer no restriction and the key to the band working right is to eat hard Proteins and keep the pouch full for longer periods of time, liquids and Soups and canned peaches dont do that. Call your Dr. being this tight is not good for you or your band... -
If you are having a hard time with mushies then I would have to say you may be a little too tight. You should be able to eat solids without too many problems and you are having problems with mushys. Having as little as .2 cc's removed will make a huge diference in being able to eat solids but yet still have enough restriction to lose weight. Being too tight can cause many problems, be a smart and responsible bandster, call your Dr. and let him know you are PBing on mushys. I know my Dr. would have me come in for a slight unfill if it were me...also you are always tighter in the mornings, try drinking a hot cup of tea or coffee, it should help to open you up a bit...but remember once you throw up or PB you need to do liquids for a day, since PBing can often irritate your esophagus and stoma which can result in another PB the nnext time you eat, the swelling needs to go down before you venture on to food again, I know this first hand, I did not do this with a big PB and continued to eat and continued to PB which gave me a horrible case of esophagitis. It becomes a vicious cycle eat PB swell..eat PB swell, you need to rest things for a day or two with liquids only, this is my Dr.s instructions on a PB and many other Dr.s too. Hang in there it takes time to get used to this new way of life but it is all worth it in the end

if you can not drink without pain how will you be able to eat without pain?? You are too tight my friend, having as little as .2 cc's removed will make a huge difference in being able to eat anddrink without discomfort but still allow you to have good restriction and lose weight. Be a smart bandster..too tight can result in many different things happening. Longevity of your band and your health is most important...weight loss will come. -
Hi Miss Jenna, Happy Birthday girlfriend. Hope you are having a wonderful day!

I'm doing OK.. seems to be getting harder and harder to maintain but I'm determined to do it. My size 10-12's are still fitting me. That is a victory. Somedays I struggle and somedays I do great. I stilltry oto think like a bandster and eat like a bandster... my weight fluctuates between 1-3 lbs gain depending on the timne of the month or what I ate the day before from when my band was removed and for it being almost 6 months I am happy -
Teresa, my husband has had chronic pain for several years now, he became addicted to the pain pills . But theone thing that works for him now is the fetenal pain patch, it is a slow release narcotic pain patch that does not make you feel stupid like when you take the pain pills, alos has your dad looked into cortizone injections, it has worked wondersfor my husbands pain. He has been seeing a pain management doctor for 6 years now, my husband has degenerated discs in his back and needs surgery but he refuses, he too got into an accident and his line of work does not help matters. Does he have a pain management docotr? If not look into one, they saved my husband .

Once you have your band filled to the right level, your thoughts of food diminish, atleastt hat is how it was for me. Food was not even a thought when I had good restriction, give it some time and a few fills under your belt, it may be the same for you too

La_madam replied to Wheetsin's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Mine had white lines running through them post op for the first few months I took a nail and hair vitamin and it seemed to work, now they are fine and have stopped taking the vitamin months ago -
BigPaul always makes me feel really good about myself. He's funny and silly but really smart right when you need him to be. TellyMelly keeps me motivated on days I think I want to slack and theres always a smile on my face when I'm talking to her, she just keeps me laughing. She brightens my day! Cutiern reminds me of my daughter. I love how she is young, independent, and willing to make financial sacrifices to change her life. Dawg is a great husband. Selfless and supportive. He lives a banded lifestyle, without the band, so that he may succeed along side his wife. Pennie always seems so level-headed and diplomatic. I really admire that. Jack cracks me up with the use of his warped sense of humour in the manner in which he offers practical advice. Humour and practicalilty...great match and I always appreciate his input. (I also like his avatar!!) The best me (Kathy) has one of the most loving and tender hearts I've ever seen. She is always caring and giving to others even when she's needing support for herself. Her love of God and her desire to be a better servant shows in every post. Paula is my sweet Band-daughter and I'm so proud of how genuinely sweet she is and how her caring heart and love of God shows by her actions towards all others Iluvharleys has a good heart and is always so thoughtful, kind and caring always thinking of others in their time of need.

I lost my band due to erosion so all I want to say to you is this...take full advantage of your band and this wonderful tool you have been so fortunate to have, losing my band has made keeping this weight off a struggle, I sure would hate to see you lose your bandand then not have the tool to help you to lose weight. Use it wisely, do not abuse it..I am lucky to have not put any weight on in the last 5 months but it is a hell of a battle.

Ricotta cheese please.......................
La_madam replied to dsrjrr's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
riccotta cheese and peanut butter mixed together was one of my main mushy foods, it tastes great mixed together almost like a cheesecake and it it great for curbing the sweet tooth. -
Iam bandless and have been for 5 months now, it is a struggle, but I am winning the battle. I have not put on any weight yet...I feel I am in control for the first in my life without the aid of a tool such as my band was to me. I do obsess about what Iam eating it is in the forfront of my mind every waking moment. I do not want to go back to where I was pre band...I sitll try to follow the bandster rules...for me it is a matter of " am I hungry or do I just think I am hungry" I ask my self this question everytime I got to put food in my mouth and honestly there are times I start to eat becasue of boredom then I stop myself..I go to pick at something then I stop myself , asking the question before I begin to eat really helps me..I enjoy wearing my size 10 -12 jeans way to much to gain back this weight  I got some wicked cute clothes these days and Iam loving all the attention I get which is another motivating factor to me and of course my OCD.
