Loosing weight but not feeling like it !
La_madam replied to Janie Jackson's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I can relate to how you are feeling Janie.. Right now I'm feeling real fat and bloated even though the scales show NO weight gain, but and my clothes are still fitting really loose I know it is from my monthly cycle getting ready to start any day now..I always feel thisway right before my cycle..its in my head I think! -

Andreas off to Mexico
La_madam replied to sheeanisland's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hope it all goes well for you. Cant wait to her about your experience! Best Wishes -
I went to Mexico for surgery. I live in Southern California. My fee of 8995.00 covered all pre op tests, lodging for me and my spouse, surgery, doctors fees and hospital fee. The only extras I have are $100 for my fills and post op visits which is done under fluoro. I have had 2 fills and I'm half way to my goal weight. Then there is 5$ cab ride to and from the border and 7$ parking on the US side of the border so it is 117 each time I go back to Mexico. I do not plan on going for another fill anytime soon since I feel I have hit my sweet spot with my current fill level of 2cc's. For me it was well worth it to go to Mexico. I'm just an hour and half away from the border. Godd luck to you with your decision..

Dr. Arturo Rodriguez - Any negative experiences?
La_madam replied to kimster's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Kimster..how much weight do you need or want to lose? My goal was 95 pounds and I'm halfway there in 5 months with 2cc's so I have room for 2 more cc's. I honestly feel that I will get to goal before I reach 4cc's. I do not see myself getting a fill any time in the near future..I think with this last fill I have hit the "sweet spot" everyone mentions. The wieght is coming off with minimal effort. I often wonder about the same thing...once you reach goal do they remove some of the fill or do you just continue with the same fill level. -
How cute are you in those pics You look great Teresa! Job well done on the 61.5 lbs. Hubby & brother are handsome too

Dr. Arturo Rodriguez - Any negative experiences?
La_madam replied to kimster's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
I have the Inamed band that hold 4cc's. Currently I have 2cc's in my band. I'm 5 months post op today and I have great restriction with 2cc's/ I am down 48.5 lbs. This 2nd fill I had 3 weeks ago I have all ready lost 8.5 pounds from it . Everyone is so different though withtheir restriction level. Also I had restriction before I had my first fill. I lost 20lbs before my first fill and had my first fill 9 weeks post op. In making your decision on which band remember to keep in mind your after care. I f you go with the Swedish band and plan to go to Dr. Rodriguez for after care thats great but if you chose the Swedish Band and dont plan on going to Mexico for aftercare just make sure you have a doctor in your are who is familiar with the Swedish band for your aftercare. More US docs are familiar with the Inamed band then the Swedish, that is what I was told.Regardless of what band you chose if you do not plan to have aftercare in Mexico for fills & etc..make sure ahead of time you have found a doctor who will take you on as a Mexico patient. Many doctors will not take on Mexican patients. Good Luck to you -
Way to go Penni Nothing better then being on vacation and losing weight.

Blossom Don't wait until you see him..CALL him!! 6 weeks of clear liquids is not healthy. I was on solids after 6 weeks. Too much muscle mass will be lost with clear liquids for 6 weeks and you do not want that.
-
Monday September 6th Happy Labor Day to all of you! 216.5 3.5 lbs loss for me last week
-
Hi Penni Happy Birthday..I hope you are having a great time in Jamaica and the weather from Frances is not affecting you. I know Jamaica is not far from Florida or the Bahamas.
-
Yep definately tal kwith your doctor. I though my doc was bad with 2 weeks clear and 1 week full liquids but 6 weeks Clear liquids is unheard of..are you sure it is not full liquids? You will lose so much muscle mass with no protein in 6 weeks.

I know Blue Cross just started covering it in a few states of course not California but maybe it will start a trend when they see the success rate and Blue Cross will coever it nationwide..I was a self pay..I wanted this so bad and was not willingto haggle with them for 6-8 months to get approval..and I'm glad I didnt. 5 months out and I'm half way to goal. I'd probably still be haggling with my insurance company.

Hmmm..funny you should post about this. I have noticed the same problem I justthought it was the weather. I have never had dry scalp until now, maybe it is from being banded. I wil lhave to really be aware of my protein intake.
-

I saw it last year but I wished it would of focused a little more on the Lap Band and the procedure itself,(to get the word out) not so much on her personal story...but I enjoyed it none the less
