Do you have Triple A??..they offer discounts to Disneyland and the hotels in the area.

What about some hot water or hot tea.. hot liquids seem to open my band up. Maybe it will help get the licorice to pass through...its worth a try.

SO happy to hear you are feeling better!

Tell her to stop twisting your arm and making you eat Seriously Babs only you have the will power to eat or not eat. You know you can do this..look how far you have come. It is so easy for us who have struggled with our weight to fall back into the same old patterns but it is only us who can break those patterns too. NO MORE JUNK FOOD!!! I have been struggling this week too so I know how you are feeling , all the halloween candy in this damn house ..but I have made a commitment to myself Thursday.. NO MORE chocolate and so far so good. Be strong Just say NO! WILLPOWER WILLPOWER WILLPOWER

I had a low grade fever 3 days after surgery that only lasted 24 hours, I called my doc he said many patients experience it and if it persists to call back but after 24 hrs and a little adult strength liquid tylenol I was fine.

Wow I need this too..Im at a plateau or it could be just all the damn halloween candy in this friggin house :rolleyes .. Sweets & chocolate have not been nice to me this week. I do not even want to limit myself to one cuz that is what got me into this mess..so I'm going to cut it cold turkey ..one a day for the last week has creaped up on me. I have lost a measely 3/4 of a friggin lb in 2 weeks. I told my kids after they go trick or treating the candy is in the garbage or they better hide it in such a good place that they wont even remember where they put it. Im all in for this challenge in a big time way!!!

Maybe your husband is trying to scare you to not falter from your pre op diet:) I never had a pre op diet and I ate like it was my last meal carnitas, beans, rice, tortillas the night before surgery up intil my cut off time of midnight and had my surgery the next morning with no problems and have had no problems since... Every doctor has different pre op diets some have none at all. My doc only requires one if your BMI is over 50 which mine was not..I'm sure a few pecans are not going to prevent you from having surgery

For Clear liquids..chicken broth, vegetable broth, gatorade, jello, popsicles, all juices are all good choices. I made sure I had proteind drinks on hand so the day I could have one it was ready and available. Every doctor is so different with their post op instructions. I was on clear liquids for 2 weeks but at day 8 I could add skim milk and at day 10 I could add protein drinks, then I went to full liquids for a week which is anything that went through a straw, so I made lots of milkshakes and blended alot of creamed and chunked soups..then I had a week of soft/mushy foods which was heaven..lots of refried beans, yogurts, mashed potatoes, oatmeal.

Ryan...you are an inspiration to me. Your words hit close to home. You may not be with your wife in the physical sense but both she and you know you are there in her heart and soul, I hope everything goes well for her...I know all to well what is is like to have your spouse suffer in pain every waking day.hopefully this surgery will give her some comfort... My thoughts are with both of you during this difficult time.

Sassay.. If I go to long in between meal I get exremely gassy, is your pain in the shoulder gas related? I do not get the gas pain in my shoulder but my tummy is a rumbling volcano if I wait to long between meal so maybe there is some coralation( sp?) there .

Am I the weirdo of the bunch? I was not hungry until week 3 post op. I had so much discomfort and bloatedness and swelling, food was the last thing on my mind. Liquids were just fine for me..but I will say that once I was able to add Protein shakes at day 10 post op it gave me more energy and I did feel a whole lot better.Once you get to add Protein Shakes it should help with your hunger and energy level.

www.lap-band.com then click on Surgeon Locator and start calling those in your area. Many doctors in the US will not take on patients banded in Mexico but some will but charge a higher fee. Good Luck

Congratulations on your approval..Good luck to you too on your journey.

Too many moments for me to even count! Seriously I was tired of waking up in the morning in pain, my feet hurt so bad. If I would sit down during the day it would take me 10 minutes to get up and get out all the kinks before I could start moving.I lived on Advil for the pain.. Since I have lost the 62 lbs I have not one ounce of pain or kinks in my body. I did not want my 3 boys to be embarrassed by their mothers presence at school functions, baseball games, in front of their friends etc..I wanted my life back I became a recluse not wanting to go out with friends, not wanting to entertain in my home etc.. I feel the best I have felt in years and it's only going to get better!!!

First Post - Considering Lap Band
La_madam replied to a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi Shannon I'm 38 yrs old and I was a self pay in Mexico I would not even consider RNY s owhen I heard of the Lap Band and researched it for 6 months I knew it was what I wanted to do. I even sold my mustang convertible to get this surgery that is how bad I wanted it. It has been worth every penny I have spent. I have been overweight all my life and have tried al lthe diets known to man to only fail time and time again, this surgery was my last hope of finding beating this demon. There is a great book out that has lots of info for people thinking about the surgery and for new bandsters. www.amazon.com is where to get it Laproscopic Adjustable Gastric Banding, Achieving Permanent Wegiht Loss with Minimally Invasive Surgery. Written By Jessi H. Ahroni I have had no problems or complications since surgery and have lost 62 lbs in 6 months. I am not deprived with the foods Ieat, I do not feel like Iam on a diet at all. This is a great site for lots of different opinions and you will recieve a ton of support. I hope you stick around..best of luck to you on your decision. If I can answer any questions for you please feel free to email me or send me a private message. Im, not a veteran bandster but I have 6 months under my belt.. -
I would love to do this.. I have a few future Ortiz bandsters that I am in correspondence with right now just helping them answering their questions and offering support outside of this board.. I think it is a great idea..I would love to be an Angel for free!

Me personally I like the balance gold bars they taste very good and have 15 grams of protein, I use them when I need a chocolate fix, they taste just like a candy bar. I do not look for low sugar ones but hi protein and great tasting ones is what I go for.
-
