LOL..Penni. I'm dying of laughter over here with that last post. You are too funny girlfriend! I'm here picturing your cute little voice saying all of that and I'm rollin'.. Cant you just feel the love in this place? We are all way too comfortable with eachother!
-
I agree with you Penni...I'm going to cancel my fill for next week..not just becasue of this post but becasue I'm still losing something every week. I am deathly afraid of being filled too tight...Somedays I have great restriction and some days I dont..its about following the rules and making better choices. I think instead of adjusting my band..I'm going to try adjusting my attitude and adjusting my brain for awhile. I want to challenge myself too..to see if I can make it through the holidays and still lose slowly without the help from a fill..I think it would be great for my mental outlook to achieve weight loss during the holidays..I can ever remember losing weight during the holidays so I'm challenging myself..

Great Job Pam You are on your way! Be careful, take it slow when you eat cuz sometimes the fills can take sometime to kick in. My first one took a week, but my 2nd one was instant.

and it only gets better Blossom!! or should I say it only gets gassier Blossom. ...the gas has never gone away for me ..what is up with that? !
-
Darcy..tootsie rolls are my favorite. My hubby is a chocolate freak too..maybe I need to invest in some too..I'll do anything for a lil somethin somethin from my husband!
-
Estella, the foam stuff coming up would concern me..the foamy stuff is usually a sign of being filled to tight but you have had no fill yet right? You just had surgery. Does your Dr. do a fill also at the time of surgery? I'm glad to hear you are going to see your Dr. ..you do not want to get dehydrated. I hope you start feeling better soon..it could also be just from the swelling P.S. Im so sorry to hear that your husband is not supportive. I do not know what I would do without my husbands suport. He is what makes it so much easier for me. His support has helped me to get to where Iam. So much for the sickness and health vow he took with you huh?

Hey Babs I know the feeling about obsessing about food lately and I have a fill of 2cc's but the past 3 weeks I find myself obsessing too.. Im still losing 1-3 lbs a week but I think I might need a little tweak of .1 or .2 to get me through the Holidays. I have a fill scheduled for Nov 15th so we will see. Im still debating it since I'm losing steadily. I really believe that the food obsessions we are all experiencing right now is the change in seasons, the cold weather , the holidays approaching. I know for me that when the weather changes I want to eat more warm hearty foods like potatoes, stews, pot roasts etc..My salds and fruits are at a bare minimum these days. You can get through this rough time. Just keep telling yourself that. You have donean awesome job. I hope I am as successful as you have been. You should be proud of yourself. You know what it takes its just a matter of getting your head back into it. Now ..I'm going to go take my own advice and get my head back into it too

Welcom Home Blossom and Congratulations! Like everyone else has said..take it easy and rest. Even though you feel great , the last thing you want to do is overdue things.

Hi Pat..Remember Me? My name is Michelle, we have corresponded a couple of time via email about Dr. Ortiz. Glad to see you here! This place is so much different then the yahoo sites I agree with you 100%. You can feel the love here! Many on those other boards are not so friendly and you do not feel the connection with the members. We all support eachother , we are like family here...Hope to see you here often!

Alex I think alot of us who have been obese most of our lives get into ruts where we stay close to home and do not want to be seen..I know for me it is true. We have a perception of ourselves even when we have lost the weight. I was just saying today to a customer of mine who commented on how good I look with the weight loss that alot of overweight people still see themselves as being overwieght regardless of what the scale says. I look in the mirror and see NO difference even though I have lost 62 lbs..It is strange how we percieve ourselves sometimes..but you need to go today and hold your head up high and be proud of the job you have done, you owe these people no explanation if you do not want to..If they ask I'm sure you will come up with an answer that you are comfortable with. GO HAVE FUN>>BE PROUD!!!

Hi Lauri I feel your pain, it wasnt too long ago that I had my share of family tragedies in a BIG way and in a very short period of time...many of the people here on the boards know of my story. .. I just want to say, Im still here surviving and the band is the best thing to happen to me. I battled weight porblems most of my life too like many of us here but my family tragedies just sped up the weight gain..Its not for us to ask why things happens to us , it is for us to just deal with & accept( that is hard sometimes I know) But .. We will never know why things happen to us like they do .. as my mother always told me " Everything in life happens for a reason" I know it is rough .. but they say what doesnt kill us only makes us stronger. I'm a firm believer in that. You will survive all of this ...and be a better person because of it. What Kathy said in her post is so true..follow those words...Hang in there~

Its too bad your Dr's discouraged you to got to Mexico. The band Dr. I met with here in California is the one who reccomended Dr. Ortiz to me. Dr. Ortiz was the Dr. who trained him. More Dr.'s in Mexico have more experince and have placed more bands then most Dr.'s in the US. The hospital I stayed at was very nice and very clean, the hotel I used was a 5 star hotel, and the was no language barrier with the hotel, the hospital staff, Dr. Ortiz or his entire staff. I understand your frustration because my insurance does not cover the band either and even if they did I would of had a hard time getting approval, I was basically a healthy fat person. No co-morbitities whatsoever from my weight. After researching it here in California and seeing how much it would cpst for a self pay here in the states and after Dr. Ortiz coming highly reccomended from a US Dr. ...was sold and went to Mexico and do not regret it for one single second! Today is my 7 motnh anniversary from surgery and I have lost 62lbs as of 11/1.

Dr Kuri is a very experienced surgeon..he is very kind and caring to his patients, His aftercare is very good too..Chosing him you get the best of both worlds, you get a very experienced band doctor and the price is right... I have heard all good things about him. He has a yahoo group..it is called Original Southern California Bandsters most if not all of the members have been banded by Kuri and will be very helpful to you.

Kathy in a couple of months come back and tell me if you can eat the same as now especially if you are losing 1-3 lbs a week:) Hopefully then you will understand..or maybe you will be the minority and keep your current fill level unti lyou get to goal weight..it does happen but rarely...It is confusing..I was in the same boat as you in the beginning but once I had my first fill , 2 months later stopped losing and could eat more I finally got it!...
