Jealousy is a sign of ones own insecurities. You can not worry about how he is going to feel...that is his issue he needs to deal with , this is about you. If he is not insecure and truly loves you and you truly love him then you both will reap the benefits of your band. I know this to be true since my husband is reapin em now If all he is worried about is you going our clubbin, thne I believe there is more of a problem. Going clubbin should be the least of his worries with you making such a lifestyle change.

Julie, it is quite normal to experience no weight loss once you start back onto solids..do not fret. It took my body a little over a week to get used to it. It iwll happen again, the scale will start moving..Remember this is nota race but a journey, there is no hurry, also the band was designed to be inflated to work at it's best ability. The first 6 weeks is for healing any weight loss before your first fill is a bonus..once you get a fill you should notice a difference in your restriction and eating..If you feel you are eating too much , one way to determine this is to log onto fitday.com or to join our Food Journal thread, there is something about seeing it on paper that makes you realize just how much or how little you are eating.Everybody's weight loss during this phase is so different. I was fortunate to not need a fill until 9 weekspost op and lost 20 lbs up until that time just from the restriction I had from the placement of the band..while others need a fill right at the 6 week mark and otherswho did not need one for months out..Hang in there , you are normal

Theresa the woman you referred to in your post looks like she has a 10cc band which is why she has gotten such larger fills then those who have a 4cc band which is most of us who went to Mexico. The 10cc band needs 1-2 cc's per fil lto get the restriction right, those who have the 10 cc band will agree with this. Putting .5 cc in a 10 cc band is hardly comparable to putting in .5 ccs into a 4 cc band Most of us who went to Mexico have a 4cc band, however there are some with larger BMI whe went to Mexico and got the 10 cc band Here is an excerpt from Dr. Ortiz's book who is a Mexican surgeon " The protocol frequently used in the U.S is 1cc to 1.2 cc's in the first fill and then visits every two weeks where incriments of .2 cc's are added until the desired restriction is attained. Fill preformed outside the U.S. are usually more aggressive" I have had 3 fills with my Mexican doctor and will not need any moreto get me to my goal wTheresaeight. I think he was pretty aggressive.

Food intake. Things change.Help?
La_madam replied to bobby_hamrick's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Bobby..The only thing you may notice is your weight loss may not be as good as it could be if you were to eat solids. One thing my Dr. tells me is if Iam relying liquids and soft foods like yogurts, puddings etc.. then Iam too tight and need a slight unfill. Liquid calories & soft foods can kill a bandsters weight loss...The liquids and soft foods go right through the band and all it does is make you hungry quicker. Be careful, watch your caloric intake on all of those liquid calories and yogurts & smoothies. This is not what the band was designed for..maybe you should consider a slight unfill .2cc's can make a huge difference in allowing you to eat solids. Im sure a meal replacement is as healthy as a chicken breast but the question should be will the meal replacement that goes right through your band curb your hunger for as long as that chicken breast sitting in your pouch for hours will? If the liquids go right through, wont you want another meal replacement sooner which is only more calories? If it were me I would be going in for a slight unfill..to live on liquids and meal replacements is not why I got the band . Best Wishes -
Kimberlilly I was jusy having the exact same conversation with my girlfriend. I go shopping and I find myself in the plus size department. I wasa 20-22 when I started this journey 10 months ago and Iam now 12-14. It is a hard habit to break..but I'm trying

Porclndoll the answer to that question is neither I could of probably eaten more But Iam trying to work with my band instead of making my band do all the work..And yes it tasted Damn good not nasty tasting at all but I did not need to eat the entire thing. I want my head to do some of the work. I even ruined the rest of the piece by pouring ketchup all over it so I would not pick at it.They tought me this in a behavior modification class I took years ago, to ruin what is left on your plate so you wont pick at it once you tell youself you are finished. I just needed a little taste to satisfy me not the whole piece like I would have done pre band. We were at dinner for my son's B-day and my meal came with the Atkins Cheesecake. We Went to TGIF's and they have this special where you get an appetizer, entree and dessert for 12.99. I ordered from the Atkins menu they now feature at TGIF's, my appetizer was a small green salad with low fat blue cheese dressing, my entree was teriyaki chicken breast with veggies and my dessert was the cheesecake
