Soreadynow, Yeah it did! Especially since I wanted my surgeon to be all warmed up before cutting me.....HA! And I told him so too! Super awesom dr though,
-
Soreadynow, That is exactly what happened to me last Friday. Got bumped up to 7 am.

Hello! I like About Time for protein shake, good taste, dissolves well in water. Has more isolate protein than Unjury and costs a lot less too. Online or through eBay is where I purchase mine. Did lots of research before my surgery last Friday. Now if I can just stop all the annoying burping....Ha!

Mara' That's GREAT!

Hello there Ben!
-
I heard that caffeine will make you hungry. I was banded 10/5. I have so much gas but have been doing a lot of walking too. Oh yeah, btw, I went back to work today.
-
It goes by fast. I got banded Friday, oct 5. Remember that the preop diet is to shrink the liver so that the dr can do the surgery. And get your gasX ready.
-
Oct 5 for me! And I wanted to thank whomever posted to bend in half to burp. It works like a CHARM! For those of you who don't know what I mean, you will know soon enough! Best wishes to you all!

I want to run, run, run, as a runner does. Like a gazelle. Effortlessly. Not gasping for air with a 100 lb sack of fat on my body!

Have You Nicknamed You Lapband Yet?
MiniMi replied to blackcadillacs5's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I haven't named my band yet but I did name my fat. Her name is Girthtrude., as in my girth. I say goodbye to her every day. -
I have the fit bit. It is integrated on the my fitness pal app. I like it because you don't have to wear it on your arm. It slips in nicely on your bra or shirt or pants.
-
Congrats!
-
You rocked it!! Awesome! I was banded Friday. My post op isn't until the 15th.

Hmmm Should I Be Concerned?
MiniMi replied to Lana08's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My port is in the same place, smack in the middle! I opted for the realize band because the port is thinner. It takes longer to get the right fill but it is less rigid that the lap band. My surgeon attached it under the facia and used mesh to keep it from flipping. So it's closer to the surface than the lap band but flat. Dr. Coirin and Modesto memorial hospital are the BEST. -
I was banded on the 5th. The bubbles that come up remind me of a break room water cooler. Once they start they just keep coming! It is really difficult to get calories in and water is hard too but I'm doing good otherwise. No pain meds or nausea meds needed...but gasX is a must!

The First Time I Have Found Anyone To Talk About Lapbands!
MiniMi replied to feeling normal again's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hello there. I'm also new here. I was banded October 5th, 2012. All I can say is, the GAS THE HORRENDOUS GAS! I feel like a break room Water cooler bubbling up trapped air! Ha! Well I'm told this goes away to! Welcome! -
Hello, Been To The Seminar Today
MiniMi replied to 434teresa's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
434teresa, Hard decisions to make. Wls has to be used along with a healthier you! Good choices and a decision once and for all to be healthy. The sleeve has malabsorption issues that the band does not have but the band is much less forgiving. Research all different types of wls and make an informed decision. You'll be fine either was. Keep us posted. -
I'm surprised that your surgeon wasn't more on top of this. My surgeon got me a second diagnosis for sleep apnea so that they insurance would cover lap band. They didn't even submit it to the insurance until my study came back positive with MILD APNEA. After submission of a well documented file I was approved 3 days later. Doctors know that low BMI is a sure reject by the insurance companies. But low BMI with sleep apnea is a sure approval. And btw if you are overweight you HAVE some sleep apnea, no doubt. Keep us informed!
-
You need to get tested for sleep apnea. If you have low bmi BUT have sleep apnea ( even a mild form) then they will approve it. That is the route I had to go. Pain in the butt, yes, but I was banded last Friday!

Hi Lapband Fam! Nervous Girl Here...
MiniMi replied to Steffy723's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I'll add to that actually, nothing tastes as good as HEALTHY feels! No regrets just one-day-at-a-time progress! -
Hi Lapband Fam! Nervous Girl Here...
MiniMi replied to Steffy723's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Steffy, I have been banded for 4 days now. I don't have a lot of experience but from what I have gleaned I can tell you that it is a very REAL tool that becomes very REAL when you wake up from surgery. You are getting the band because you need that extra accountability that diets alone do not offer. Having said that your only concern needs to be your health. The weight will come off itself. I already had more than my share of fat foods and sugars and lord know my share of pizza! Now I am going to be that heathy person who loves herself and doesn't abuse her own body any more. Keep me posted! -
Msdropinoff, You will be fine. I had my band surgery oct 5- 4 days ago. Just remember that after the surgery your only goal is to relax and heal, it's not to look at or worry about the scale. That will come in time. I'll be cheering you on from central Cali!
