Hello! I was supposed to start soft foods yesterday. I just couldn't do it! I just got the mushy phase down and I'm afraid to move forward. Looking at the sample food plan I was given I feel like it will look smaller than the 1/2-3/4 c mushiness that I am currently eating ( with much gusto might I add). I am already hungry a lot but what I sit and eat now is satisfying. What if I eat and am still hungry or what if I taste it and go wild. I need someone to walk me through this because I know it's not rational. It's like walking over a rickety bridge. Than you!

You will be amazed at how well you do... After the 72 hours! I looked at the person who gave me the preop diet and I said " you're joking right? Shocker ... We all made it through. Your mindset needs a little adjustment though, think of it as it truly is, a tool for a successful surgery, not about losing weight. This phase can mean the difference between having 3 little holes in your belly and a relatively easy recovery OR being cut open.

Girl you lie! You know your conceited! Jk! Isn't it wonderful to be adored. My hubby of 20 yrs is still like that. As for annoying habits well... Where do I begin. I'm missing those habits right now though because he got a call from his family in Italy the day before my surgery that his mom was in a coma from a virus and that evening he was on a plane. I've been going it alone and I could use his cheers right about now. Oh yeah did I mention that he cheers me on with a thick Italian accent.. Oh yes, it doesn't get better than that!!

Jim, any other fears? Just fear of failing? I don't think you are being negative. I think you may be looking for a way out though. You have every reason to worry about what you are worrying about. You must be READY for the life change. Only with determination will you succeed. The good news is that you are in control. Your success will depend on you. Good news is you will have a lifeline that will help you. I welcome you wholeheartedly and hope you can prepare mentally for a life altering change. Going to YouTube and watching gherlinBGone's journey really helped me. Her mind set is spot on.. You may enjoy it as well! Keep us posted.

Dr. Coirin is not only a bariatric surgeon but also a trauma surgeon. He is one of the most talented dr in the area. He has done over 8000 procedures so he has a lot of experience. His staff is wonderful and caring as is he. He works with you and communicates with you to make sure you are successful but also is very real with you. Why go to someone with less experience when you can work with the best.

Coming off of sugar is terrible, you will feel better by day 3 or 4. We've all been through it and at the end of it you will get to meet a new side of you, the strong determined side. Make sure you congratulate her!
