Thanks! It seems that reprogramming is really important. Looking at the mountain seems daunting but looking at one step at a time is un eventful. Thanks again for sharing!

This is my un-fill story, what's yours?
MiniMi replied to OldMomOf3's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I don't have a story because I'm new but from what you wrote I'm glad you got your fill of food ONCE. Now start tracking and don't let yourself get too hungry ever again. Congrats on your success so far! -
Donna, I also am not an ice cream fan. Not really a sweet fan at all. Since Wls though I've had a craving or two. Sometimes a sf hot cocoa can fix that. Also I got a sf hot chai tea mix that is awesome ( trader joes or world market I think) it is 70cal because of dehydrated milk but is so worth it! The pudding cups too are a god send. My family has junk all around me. I've trained them well on how to tackle me if they see me reaching. But so far I haven't allowed my mind to go there! Ups and downs of sugar intake in the diet can make you really emotional too and I have enough of my own emotions to deal with without adding the cookie jar to my problems! Hang in there!

Lapband failure / waste of time and money
MiniMi replied to tmurphy's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
If you do have a bad band some insurances will pay for a revision to something like the sleeve. It's worth looking into. From what I've read here, when everything is good it's REALLY GOOD but when it's bad it's the pits! Sorry your having such a hard time. -
New and just banded 12/21
MiniMi replied to mgbenavides2003's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Pain is all normal. I slept in a recliner for a week. I was on mushy, baby food consistence by day 5. Soft foods by day 10. No issues. My port is right above my belly button. -
Almost makes the hunger spell you were dealing with worth it huh?! Good job on going and getting yourself a scale. I know we aren't supposed to be a slave to the scale but good grief, it is what we've got for now and it sure feels good when the scale agrees with us! congrats!

eating solids shortly after bandin
MiniMi replied to banded121512's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
solid food can cause the band to slip. When the band slips it actually can tear a hole in your stomach because of the stitches. It's no joking matter. And to answer your question, no I never ate solid foods in any quantity before I was instructed to do so by my surgeon. I didn't want to risk bleeding to death internally. -
How does broth and soup fill you up?
MiniMi replied to Pana'sNewStart's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If you are not taking pain meds that made you unable to drive safely then you can go ahead. I drove two days after surgery AND I was off pain meds. -
How does broth and soup fill you up?
MiniMi replied to Pana'sNewStart's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The 30 minute rule is for when you are on mushy, soft, and then solid foods. Broth does go right through, as does water etc. The purpose of having these things during this phase is to give yourself some nutrients (they will help with hunger too) but more importantly is to keep you hydrated. So have at it! -
Ok so this morning I did a little research on these algae supplements that I take. I found the equivalent online . It is called Chlorella. http://www.biochlorella.com/weightcontrol.html

Wooooaaahhhh woah woah give your body time to catch up to you! You took off running out of that gate and have done Awesome! You must have known that this day would have come..now you get to look back and get a grip on how far you've come in such a short time. Take a deep breath and calm that little voice in your head with all that crazy talk and focus on the horizon!

Ooh ohh I wanna answer this one..heehee! Well here it goes, pre wls I would be mad, angry, hurt, upset and I'd suck it up and eat eat eat eat until I felt comforted. Now? I have no choice but to feel the emotions. if I have to state my opinions and stand my ground a little more then everyone else will have to suck it up for a while. My crutch is gone for crying out loud... Good news- the more successful you are the less angry you will become. So ride this wave proud and strong and for gods sake don't give up!

HAS ANYONE TRIED VEGGIE STICKS FROM COSTCO AND ARE THE HEALTHY ENOUGHT TO EAT THEM WITH THE BAND?
MiniMi replied to nessa2012's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Costco veggie snack chips are all of the above stated AND. ... That bag is huge! They wouldn't last me a year as they should because they are sliders. In a moment of weakness, I'd down them all in a few days. I wouldn't risk having them around. -
It doesn't matter when you get there. The journey is what will keep you there. . If you spend all your energy comparing yourself to others you will miss the beauty of your journey and you'll skip all the other things you need to work on besides wl. Those things will keep you at goal because your mindset will have changed. You will get there and you will be damn proud of yourself when you do. In the meantime, changing the mentality that got you here is a big job and needs a lot of your energy. For example, when you were on a diet in the past and were sticking to it but didn't see a weight loss what did you do? I personally gave up QUICKLY! Are you seeing a similar pattern here? JS Use everyone's successes as a motivation, not as a tool to beat yourself up with. No one has an upper hand here. We all have the same tools. We are ALL wls success stories in training! You already have a lot of success, a proven record of how strong you are/ have been so far in this whole process. Celebrate yourself, cut yourself some slack, and quiet that voice in your head!

But yet this whole thread is about you NOT liking different opinions, even saying that they are rude in their manner. You are confusing me! I poked in to see what all the fuss was about and then I got to this post and realized that all the fuss was about you. If you are reading this interpreting a snarl on my face and an uppity air you are reading it wrong. I'm just wanting to understand, that is all!

My first fill was 3 ccs. I was told it was the most aggressive fill I would get. Next fill was 1.5. I go in Wednesday for 3rd fill. I have the realize band (14ccs). My doc always numbs first. I always have to drink Water before I leave. If I can get it down then all is well. My appointments are longer than in and out because I ask a LOT.of questions. They are really good about answering them too. I love having a team on my side!
